Aniplex of America will be releasing two different import editions of the two movies on July 30. Standard Edition and Collector's Edition. Available to customers in US, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Central and South America.

The difference with the Japanese release?
  • Only BDs
  • Both editions contain Japanese audio and subs in Japanese, English, French, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean
  • An additional English translation of the booklet and a postcard for Collector's edition.
  • Collector's edition - US$ 129.98 (retail), US$104.98 (store)
  • Standard edition - US$ 109.98 (retail), US$89.98 (store)

^ Wow they have it almost the same price too, dispite the subtitles additions.

The original soundtrack isnt only menthioned, its clearly stated.

The Collector's Edition will include new cover art, a deluxe booklet, an original soundtrack CD, and a digipak. Aniplex of America is also adding in an English translation of the booklet and a postcard.

^ Yeah, it is just that I made that post on purpose without stating that fact, since we all know what the Japanese release will contain anyways. ^_^;

Now, what ways can someone not from the US, Canada, England, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Central and South America will be able to acquire the BDs, aside from looking at Amazon? If I have the chance... :TdT:

so close, yet so far!! :comeback: :comeback:

If my brother was still studying in Scotland he could aquire it for me :rain:

:omg: Wait a minute... why it will be available in South Africa??!!? We have no fans from there! (and I doubt locals will have the money ot buy it)

Anyways, I guess this is a good opportunity to compare the OSTs on the Japanese and English releases. Will it likely be the same, or there may be some notable differences (e.g. some songs may be slowed down compared to what was played in the movies - SAO experience) ? :ayashii:

Well, SAO's case was probably a mistake since its the first time happening to a Yuki work ever. Comparatives can be done with the SAO, Fate/Zero and Madoka anime releases.

I can't wait to see the movies, especially the last one... I'm a fan of Urobuchi-sama as well... I have no BD player and no monies, so must wait until either a subbing fan group gets it or someone rips the official subtitle and puts it somewhere... I know there's not much new content storyline-wise in the first two, but all of the new Yuki tracks will be so worth it... Please tell me Puella In Somnio is still there? I love love love that track even though it's so short! Actually, it's one of the few where I actually like the music box versions as well.

We dont know what's in there, only that there are brand new tracks + rearranges /vocal versions of older ones. Btw, welcome to the forum! :)

IIRC, the movie has a new arrangement of Puella in Somnio, plus the original, of course.

So it is only the American release that will have English subtitles, right?

If I plan to only have the soundtrack, then buying from CDJapan will suffice. However, I also want to watch the movie, so having English subs is good as well...
All releases will contain the subtitles, not just AoA's. Not sure why CDJapan didn't list the subtitles. Amazon Japan lists them, as does the official Japanese website.
The AoA version just contains an additional translated booklet. They are doing this the same way they did Fate/Zero. Import the exact JP version but offer a translation for the booklet. So, buy the AoA one if you want a translated booklet. Else, everything is the exact same (aside from region). Go see if Amazon Japan will be cheaper for you at 26% off (~8,500 JPY) + shipping, though it probably isn't if you only buy one thing. That base fee is a pain.

From the official JP MadoMagi site:
・字幕(日本語、英語、フランス語、スペイン語、中国語(繫体字)、韓国語)
Subtitles(Japanese, English, French, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Korean)

^ Thanks for the clarification, Hatouchan!! :sohappy:

Now I have no worries ordering in CDJapan... *I just need to buy a BD player then lol*

*SCREEAMMMS* OMG thanks george! My brother watches ABC3 - it's like a kid's channel...but I'm not really a fan of English dub...I mean the last time ABC3 aired dubbed anime it was Vampire Knight with really cheesy and cringeworthy voice-acting... :uh..: Oh well, might as well check out a few episodes when I have time just to hear the glory of Yuki-sensei actually on my television :touched: :touched:

But I'm gonna try buy the OST when it comes out...*fingers crossed* I hope they'll have it at JB Hi-Fi...

Here comes the first sign of a screen date for Movie 3. Not sure if it's accurate but...

According to TOHO Cinemas**, the release date for the film is October 26, 2013.

Which is right before AFA. We're (SG) f***ed. Probably won't have a proper cinema again. How the hell am I going to get a proper sound system like this...

EDIT:
** TOHO Cinemas has changed the date to Fall, 2013. Either they slipped up and posted a date when they shouldn't have or it was a mistake. Likely the former.
