Kalafina's 17th single "Ring your Bell"

^Right but I was saying they will do the opening at the end again, so we won't hear the good version of the tv size until the next time? Or will they do it right away? Sorry, did not read the spoilers. Also listened to it again, I really like it. I think a hymn version will be nice, with those chimes. I wish Kajiura would use them more in any of her songs.

I wonder if I'll get any though, since I bought from a quite-unknown online shop ;A;
But then I got tokuten from Amazon too so let's just keep the hope alive. Still... :hide:

I like the last two Kala ones, but I ordered from CDJ, but they are all great. They do seem like they are enjoying themselves a lot more on this photo shoot than the one of Believe, just for some reason, maybe Wakana's smile said it all. One month, 10 days from today!

F/SN PV/trailer featuring ring your bell is out. The chorus feels more grand in recording version but Wakana sounds like she's sh*tting her pants to hit those notes. Please excuse my language. I miss Kalafina song where Hikaru sings main vocal for the chorus.

You may be right, but I doubt Hikaru's voice would fit that part of this song, considering that her voice has a more nasal sound.

Uum I did not say I'd like to have Hikaru sing the main vocal for the chorus of this song. I don't know why but I feel like Wakana is once again losing her voice, with her voice in this song and far on the water sounds really unpleasant (very thin in far on the water), even more so than Hikarifuru, believe, and heavenly blue. It's like she keeps changing her singing technique she can't choose and master one and in the end I can't really enjoy her voice anymore. Her belting in ring your bell is really bad imo. Sorry for opening the topic on Wakana's voice again. If I were to know Kalafina just recently I doubt I'll follow them/become their fans.

Hm I actually like Wakana's voice in that song, maybe that's because i dont have musical knowledge... Anyway, Hatouchan was saying alot of times in her Budokan reports that Wakana sang very well in both days, so I doubt that something changed within a month, and we dont even know when they recorded the song.

I think it's because they've had a run of very generic singles that haven't left much of an impression on any of us. Consolation was a great album, but that was quite a while ago now and they've been preoccupied with compilations and tie-ins since then. I suspect that I wouldn't be much of a fan either if I'd got into them for the first time in the last year or so. I got onto the Kala bandwagon because of their older stuff, and have stayed for the b-sides!

I'm hoping next month's single release will be a turning-point and they're back to sounding like themselves (and/or a new evolved version of...).

DISCLAIMER: I've deliberately avoided hearing RYB yet - I'm waiting to listen to my own copy when it arrives rather than making my mind up over a live rip or short clip.

The TV-size is definetely much better than believe, which after a few watches I started skipping. However I hope it had a better instrumental intro (this is too rushed)

@Kohaku: sounds normal to me.

@Martin: The problem isnt that there are songs with tie-ins. All the Kara no kyoukai, Lacrimosa, storia, magia are tie-ins. The best FJY songs are tie-ins, pre-union FJ songs were all tie-ins, recent See-Saw songs were tie-ins.

At least in believe I enjoyed the verses... I don't like anything about Ring your bell.

I guess the song fits the ed slideshow well. Other than that, I did not like this. It's pretty sad how Kajiura keeps pumping out these bland songs.

I'm hearing a little bit of wavering in Wakana's voice, but nothing too major. I hope this doesn't become a regular occurrence though, I don't mind it in lives as, well, it's live, but recordings should be able to deal with that a lot better.

So far I'm not sure what to make of it. I think I'll start to like it a bit more after a few listens like I did with Alleluia, that's the kind of vibe it's giving me. It's got more potential than Believe (not hard) but that really depends on how the full version sounds, since Believe actually got worse as the full version showed off all the atrocious transitions that weren't as obvious in the TV-size. On the other hand, it's obviously trying to be similar to Believe in an attempt to link the two together as the series are, probably something that was requested by the director more than anything.

Heavenly Blue and Believe were both terrible but then they brought In Every Nothing and Lapis, which were both great, so I'm mostly just waiting for the b-sides. I've always thought their tie-in songs post-Seventh Heaven have been weaker than their album tracks/b-sides anyway, it's nothing new.
