It does have some of the most forgettable Kalafina tracks (sandpiper
You know you might trigger some people.

Whenever this song came on my playlist I can't listen to the final chorus just once.
Good thing that the chorus gets repeated 5 times after the 3 bridges and a 3rd verse. ;P

See, the lalala doesn't bother me at all in neverending. Considering we just said it's a more mellow Hikari no senritsu (by extention a folksy track) and then take the lyrics, the lalala makes perfect sense to me. It also segues into the step by step instrument fade-out (never)ending very nicely. But I understand where you're coming from... I just happen to like neverending and its structure. ;)

I'm actually with grunty on this one, I never liked HnS as much as so many other people on here have. It's wayyy too repetitive for my liking and after hearing the verse+chorus once I just want to skip it because I feel like I've already heard it all. The key changes are just way too random too.
It's not a bad song though, but ultimately I do prefer neverending. And I like the lalala's too lol (mainly because of Keiko's harmonies)

HnS studio version is what I'd say too long because the flute solo in the studio version is too mediocre for my liking. I myself don't find the key changes jarring at all - it helps keep the song dynamic and it flows well for me (unlike the key change in into the world).

Live is a whole different story. Hikaru's high harmonies plus a much better flute solo from Rie Akagi makes the song one of their best.

I watched the Red day blu ray yesterday and live version of Hikari no Senritsu is certainly great.

The placement of the upbeat and bouncy Hikari no Senritsu following the powerfully dramatic Red Moon on the titular album has always created an uncomfortably large spike of tonal dissonance for me, to the extent that I often skip straight to Fantasia. I don't dislike HnS, it just doesn't fit the emotions I feel after listening to Red Moon.

I feel that way as well, HnS directly following RM doesn't fit that well. Maybe if they did Hoshi no Utai then HnS it would sound better, since that song has both a more serious tone (to transition from RM) and some big flute parts (to help transition into HnS). It's not perforce but it's a start.

Skipping over tetotetometome as well?

I'd just stick HnS in-between storia & intermezzo and call it a day.

I skipped red moon lmao :XD: and went straight to HnS :p I'm fine with HnS - TetoTe - fantasia but I skipped Haru wa Kogane too and went straight to Kyrie and the rest of the album.

All this talk about red moon got me listening to the album again... Some very interesting suggestions as to where to "place" hikari no senritsu in the album. I agree with @MedChemist on having it between intermezzo and storia. Intermezzo~storia was always too sudden for me, as HIKARU comes in so strong at the beginning of storia.

I used to hate "haruwa koganeno yumeno naka", but after listening to the album today, I've come to realise how well it fits in the album as a contrast to the craziness that is Yamino Uta and fantasia.

What a great album! So many different styles. Perhaps the least WAKANA-centric album next to After Eden.

I still can't decide between SH, RM or Consolation myself. Usually I'd say RM but sometimes I'm more in the mood for the other two. AE is great too, but it's let down hugely by snow falling.
