Kalafina new song "heavenly blue"

I think it would be okay, since it is the theme of the show. I can't wait to see the anime opening though with it, since yeah, it doesn't really fit as an end credits song. Although manten was kind of that way for me.

I agree, not sure what to think if it was said that it sounds different from the live version. Hope the full version is awesome. Still love the opening and the part before the refrain, the refrain is all right though in my book.

^ Personally I loved gargantia. Yes we shoul probably make a new thread in Otakuland

@Liana: Its common these years for the OP to appear on the 1st episode at the end. Then it goes normally as OP. Manten was designed as an ED.

Even though I agree with everyone else in saying that the different parts of the song seem to be clashing with each other, I somehow still kind of love it...dark badass Hikalu really drives it at the beginning, the transition to Wakana's part after the little Hanae bit has a refreshing feel (to me, at least) yet it also sounds somewhat sad/bittersweet. I really like the low strings there.

I'm not really sure how to describe it - kind of like Hikaru's part is building up angry/despair, then Wakana's part gives a feeling of release...it's like...cathartic? :tea: Anyhow, even though different parts of the song are so different, they still work for me.

Also liking the first episode so far. I bet the Princess isn't dead. I feel like the fact they didn't show her face is foreshadowing. I will be very surprised if she actually is dead, because they seemed to build her up as too important a character in the promos to die in the first episode.
And dat main character. I know it shouldn't have been a funny moment, but I LOL'd. :XD:
"Let's get away from here right now."
"???????"
"A missile is coming."
*complete pokerface*

CDS:
01. heavenly blue (5m20s)
02. heavenly blue ~instrumental~ (5m20s)
03. heavenly blue ~TVsize~ (1m31s)

I honestly do not understand how they can not release the complete tracklistings for The Best CDs. They released the bonus BD tracklistings but not CD. Wth?

I guess they aren't releasing the tracklists because if Heavenly Blue is in one of them it could hinder the sales of the single? I'm just guessing because I don't even know when each of them will be released.

I like it, but I love everything Dark!Kalafina so don't mind me. Also, Hikaru was glorious in that verse, I want MOAR of that, need to listen to the full version.

IT IS inside and we know it since "The Best" album was announced, way before the single announcement, my point is that they are trying to make the fans forget it for a while XD

but they still havent announced the new Red track... unless its seriously called "new track", lol.

^I doubt that, I kind of am hoping it has Red in the title, since the heavenly blue fits the Blue album. (Though I find it more Red fitting, though it's really hard to put colors to songs.)

I will probably get the single eventually, since I want all Kalafina albums, not just the LE ones, which I usually get. But that is weird that they announced all the tracks except the new song on the Red album, though I want it to be a surprise kind of myself.

^ with that logic Kajiura would write the song just to fit the album name lol while heavenly blue is a pun on "heaven's fall" and the discussion about the blue ocean and sky in Earth from Aldnoah Zero, so they thought of putting it into the blue because the colours fit.

I re-listen to it and the song isn't that bad, but the effect they put on Hikaru's voice (like in Magia and consolation, that's why I can never really enjoy those songs) really turns me off. Maybe the reason why the people think the song feels so different on live version due to this factor? The disjointedness of this song is even worse than consolation though - at least in consolation there's a little bit of energy from the verse that is left in the reffrain (chorus), but this one almost has none.

^I think it's just the "chanting" style that's in consolation/signal/heavenly blue, that throws some of us off, like me. Though in consolation's case it's a better transition to Wakana's part. But the wavering voice is still in the background. heavenly blue sounds like 3 different songs, but I still like it and consolation better than signal (even though Keiko and Wakana's parts are amazing in it) so yeah, it might be that Hikaru voice. I think Magia is pretty good live now, it was kind of bad in the beginning.

George: I just meant that manten did not seem like an ending theme to me. This song sounds like it could be either really.

I really am liking it more now, can't wait for the full version to hopefully get a longer, cooler opening and a better ending to the song.:plz::shy:

Skipping the single as there is no b-side. But I love Hikaru's verse, it's the same tone and richness as she had in signal. Nice contrast Wakana's soothing response and Keiko, well she's just there all the time :glasses:

just realized i'll be on vacation when this song gets released next week.............:comeback::touched:

Ahh I actually love heavenly blue so far. It's been stuck in my head all day. Hikaru's verse tho :nosebleed:

I'm listening to it for the very first time right now (Youtube version) :XD:well, as already said, it's like three different songs merged into one. The first 30 seconds sound very strange to me, not "Kalafinish" at all. The following 30 are neater, with an awesome Wakana, and the last 30 are... well, sounds like those songs like Progressive I have to listen to several times before enjoying them. So it doesn't change my opinion about "The Best", it's not this new song that'll make me buy it.
