May I ask what is Studio Magix?

It's when a performance or song has been fixed to make it sound better, so if a singer sings really crappy live the studio can fix it for a dvd release or a broadcast.

So I watched a bit of the concert.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan. It's all sooo "fake".

WHY DO THEY EVEN HAVE CHOREOGRAPHY?!??! I know they had it before (like oblivious intro), but what they are doing in this concert is just ridiculous. I laughed hard on Hoshi no Utai - it's like they are the Kalafina Rangers. Plzzzzzzzzzzz.

maybe some biyuden will make you feel better about dansu :ohoho: :ohoho: :ohoho: :ohoho:

Well, that's pretty much the same kind of thing Kalafina is doing. That plus Hikaru's dramatic "I'm staring into the distance, but I'm cool that the others are doing all the singing." pose.

My God, she did that again? It was so ridiculous, and so unnatural. Even more because she is the "timid" one of the group, so it just feels even more artificial.

I dont think its choreography with dancing just more of Stylized movement to give a sense of synchronisation.

I'm listening to TSOM's mp3 format...thanks so much... :dote: (Still have a problem with extracting...). I'll write out some details comment when finish watching (if I can watch it... .)

As for studio magic..it's difficult to tell if you didn't join in the real event.. :XD: , but in Kalafina's case, I think it helps much for "sound blending" :plot: (which is usually their problem in live performance... :uh..: ) By the way, each of them usually did good in their own part (if you just listen to their voice separately)

Hmm..I think even you're really in the live performance, their voices are also not actually their own voices. It's still the voices that come through microphone and are adjusted by the manipulator and come to the amplifier at last. So..there're still a magic even if you're in the live show..lol. (and sure...the recording version of their songs are absolutely full of such magic!!!) So..I'm not care much about that... :ohoho: (but I may change my mind if I finished the whole show...I'm just at the start... :XD: .)

So I just listened to Sprinter since it's the one I cared about the most...

It was pretty good. I mean, it lacked some energy... but I was expecting that from them anyway (none of their live performances seemed to excite me that much). I liked how they divided the parts, though (and I enjoyed Keiko's higher notes xD), so even without Maya, it fit pretty well. It would've been nice to hear all four voices, but what're you gonna do? :/
But if they hadn't included Yuriko's parts, it would've sounded really empty, IMO. I miss the strings.

All in all: nothing unexpected.

I jumped to watch the Hong Kong documentary right away XD. They were so excited when the bus was about to stop behind another and looked its gonna crash into it. So funny lol.

The live itself: I don't find it particularly fake or artificial. However, it's pretty much just like an routine Kalafina live performance, nothing very special to me so far. (apart from Hikaru's voice sounds even more 'open' or 'bright' than usual. And she did not go off key & in good harmony with others GOOD)

Will edit or update when i finish it

Oh, I know that they used it. I mean that I miss being able to REALLY hear it. It's what really seperates the live from the recorded version, and the recorded version really has life because of it.

imma going to go through my short impressions of the songs 1 by 1 here, a rating out of 10 compared to teh original recordings. If the score is over 10 that means it is better imo than the recordings.
this is for the mp3,
my DVD torrent hasnt finished yet :omg:
1) Red Moon
Great start by Wakana. Hikaru and Keiko sound really powerful in teh chorus. Hikaru could be a bit smoother in her delivery when she has the solo. Loved the bridge, so delicate sounding. Keiko sounded fantastic at the end, really powerful voice! <3
9.5/10

2) Tetotetometome
Bleh. This was one of my most anticipated songs for this live =/. Keiko sounds nice, but her voice isnt all that clear so it disappears sometimes amongst the guitar. And the volume balance here is =/, i can barely hear Hikaru and Wakana. I know they only have a few lines, but I want to be able to hear them well in their lines. the "guru" or watever it is parts were nice though
7.5/10

3) Fantasia
The starting note was a bit ._. but at least they recover quick. Keiko and Wakana make a terrific duo as always. Hikaru, less nasal or shrilly orwatever it is pl0x, when she came in for the chorus i could hardly recognize it was her. Nice upper parts by Wakana tho. The Kajiurago bits are great. Hikaru sounds MUCH better in the second verse. Wakana ever so slightly flat in her solo, but ill let it slide. second chorus is :dote: Beautiful! 9.5/10

4)Sapphire
nothing to say here except WOW. Sounds exactly like the recording, perfecto!
10/10

5) Hoshi no Utai
Hikaru and Keiko are awesome!
Big fat delicious long note by keiko sama <3 awesome piano glissandos are awesome. Hikaru finisher was a bit iffy when she reaches the low notes, but she pulled it off respectably. 10/10

6)yami no uta
My second favourite song besides Oblivious :shy:
Keiko is really convincing here, menacing, powerful deep voice, while somehow managing to sound a bit sultry! I wouldnt mind if Wakana and hikaru were as quite here as they were in Tetote as Keiko is just too awesome here, but thankfully they sound fantastic here too. nice Opera bits by Wakana. Eargasm at its best. 100/10

7) Natsu no Ringo
eh....for some reason at the start wakana sounds....younger??? actually so does hikaru when she comes in. Dont know why, it sounds weird. Hikaru high bit that wakana usually does was ._. Besides that, nothing really wrong, but this performance isnt spectacular 8/10

8) Fairytale
beautiful start by wakana. I hear Hikaru doing nice high bits in teh background! love how wakana ends the short notes. The famous "ZUUUUTTO" isnt as good as the recording though =/ Chorus and backandforth bits between Keiko and wakana is :nosebleed:
I prefer recording wakana's "sayonara" but Hikaru still pulls it off quite decently. 10/10

9) ARIA
their last live ARIA had maya in it and it was great. Can they pull it off this time while 1 person short? great hikaru solo start, same with wakana and keiko duo thingy, but i think the two of them were slightly out of beat XD. Overall i think they did a fantastic job, ARIA sounds as awesome as ever. 10/10

10) Progressive
Imo this is even better than their previous progressive live. Awesome piano glissando at start, with great wakana operathingy start. Hikaru sounds brilliant in the verses, clearer than she was in the other live. The chorus doesnt have as much of an oomph as the other live though due to different BGM =/ mebbe its my volume lol. Wakana slightly shaky in her highest note in her solo. Hikaru a bit too forceful in her solo too. She pulls off her ending high note much better than in the other live, but its still not perfect. ending wakana operathingy not as good as starting wakana operathingy =/ 9.5/10

11) Haru wa~
beautiful wakana ballad. She does a great job in the high notes. Hikaru's delivery again could be more flowing, but she does a great job too for her high notes. 10/10

12) Storia
nasally start by hikaru ><. Wakana a bit shaky in her high bits again. overall chorus effect still great though.the three-way backandforth thingy is beautiful I think this is about as good as the other storia live. 9.5/10

Have you actually seen Hoshi no Utai? If they are performing anything as a routine then it's choreographed. Not to mention that they actually have a choreographer listed in the booklet, lol.

PS. Is anyone else annoyed that Wakana isn't doing Lacrimosa right in the last chorus in any live? It's not supposed to be the same as every other chorus, unless the CD version was a fluke...?

13) intermezzo. I was interested in how this would turn out without filters. Turns out it turns out great =D. i think i prefer this to the recording 11/10

14) Lacrimosa
WOW. They finally do justice to this song. I dont know if they had the recording as a backing or if there were extra singers, but they pulled off EVERYTHING convincingly. They erase their previous horribad lacrimosa live with this masterpiece which is so far the best performance in the live. Heck this destroys the recording. Im only rating this lower than yami no uta because i prefer the former song. 99.9/10

15) Mata kaze ga tsuyoku natta
Its been a long time since they did this song! I dont know what Keiko and Hikaru are trying to do with their voices here, they sound much more forceful, rough and.... manly here than in their previous live of this song. Not sure if i prefer this style, but oh well. Beautiful operathingy by wakana. Overall, i think this live is much better arranged as a whole than the other live, plus although im still deciding whether i like their new voice style or not, this is still a marvelous performance, they are more in tune here than in the other one. 9.5/10

pikachuwei, plz2not say anything about "erasing previous horribad" performances when this is an official DVD and the previous was an actual live, lol. If they sound great @ ANIMAX MUSIX (while at least one other performer sounds horrible) then we can talk about "erasing previous horribad".

Unless you mean the Red Moon DVD Lacrimosa was "horribad"...

16) Kyrie, my 3rd favourite song =)
great start by hikaru and Keiko. Wakana brings in the chorus with a bang and really shines throughout the song. The kajiurago part after the shoutoutthingy is really great. Hikaru needs a smoothie sometimes methinks=/ however overall the entire song is full of excellent eargasm, 20/10

17) Ongaku
Hikaru and keiko using the same rough harsh manly voice style as in mata kaze =/. I count at least 3 shouting thingies by keiko in this performance XD. Wakana slightly flat in her solo high notes and the following background parts, but she redeems herself with that delicious "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHHH!" later on XD. Overall i really do prefer their original voice styles when singing this song but the band arrangement and stuff for this version is better, mebbe as a result of more budget, so i prefer this version as a performance. 9.5/10

18) Hikaru no Senritsu. All Kalafina's HnS performances have been great and this is no exception. I hear someone in the background singing really high notes when wakana has the melody. I dont know if its from the backing music, or if some extra singer is hiding somewhere, but it should be hikaru since i cant hear if she is singing something else in those parts. If so, tons of kudos to her coz those high parts are worthy of yuriko herself.

I think it was the red moon dvd lacrimosa, i got it in my folders under Kalafina storia progressive live =/

but the files themself say Red Moon DVD. "horribad" is an exaggeration but really it was not all that great, and this version of lacrimosa blows it out of the water.
