"Kalafina Arena LIVE 2016" September 10-11 (Kobe World Memorial), 16-17 (Budokan)

This live was great!!! My favorites from it would have to be neverending, Destination Unknown, into the world, and Tsuioku. Red Moon (no energy!!!!!), TTB, and signal were incredibly boring, though. In your eyes didn't sound as great without Hikaru doing the first chorus, either. Towards the end I could tell they were getting tired, especially during the encore. Despite that, I would tell Hikaru actually sang the upper harmony during HnS's chorus, which she just lip-synced during the Budokan performance. I haven't watched the part that @magicmagiamahou posted though, but I'm not in a place where I can, so I'll watch it as soon as I get home.

I only sampled it. I liked some of the ideas on red moon projections like Wakana's dress extending. Too bad the whole screen was overstuffed (and I wish they'd figure out how to not have projections flashing on the girls), not to mention how it turned into windows media player visualisations fast. All the dancing (in the tracks I sampled) was terrible and distracting as usual. Can't they just trust in their natural behaviour... and work on better visualisations to make it exciting? ;P

On the audio side I quite liked signal until the keyboard solo (although I wish they'd finally stick to either Wakana or Yuriko recording rather than having both at the same time). I don't remember anything terrible on HIkari no Senritsu bridge like ritartando mentioned, I'd say I found that song a rather pleasant performance. Not that I paid much attention...

^It's not bad, per se. More like usually Hikaru's and Wakana's voices blended nicely on Hikari no Senritsu's bridge, but on this live performance Hikaru's voice kinda stood out - and not in a good way. She sounded so scratchy - tho it's her default voice nowadays...

I was excited for this release but after watching it I'm finding myself not paying much attention, maybe because 60% of the songs performed were already broadcasted.

Back to watching Take That DVD lol

Just listened the first part of the live while drawing, didn't pay much attention to the video since a lot of songs were already aired previously. I just watched some of the ones not released (specially Tsuioku!) and Into the World.
An okay live for the most part, would be much better if Hikaru wasn't so off :touched: Wakana and Keiko were amazing, tho.
Tsuioku was as perfect as expected. Was worth all the time waiting for it! Keiko's part were specially brilliant. However at some points the coreography really turned me off. It feels too weird, it's difficult to take the song seriously like that.
Red moon was probably the most dissapointing Red Moon ever. Every time a live version of this song is released, I get super excited. But this, as someone mentioned, felt so tired and lacking energy. Vocals weren't bad (in fact, I loved Wakana here, at some points it reminded me of my beloved old Wakana), but lacked all the strengh and epicness (?) this song deserves to be performed. Not to mention the girls looked like statues, made me kinda unconfortable :rain: Maybe in a live CD would be okay, but in video is just boooooring.
Into the world was already aired, but I'm still impressed at how pretty is it. Same with a capella Alelluia.
The worst of the live were the dances, I really cringed every time they started doing that. As grunty said, their naturals behavior and some effects could be way better. Also, I prefer the girls focusing on vocals than making that stupid movements. Maybe some little perfomance during the instrumental parts wouldn't be that bad, if it was something more simple and subtle, not so fake and staged.
What I really liked were the new ways of "connect" with the audience, like in Ongaku and In your Eyes. It seemed like everyone was having fun! During Ongaku I was singing and moving my hands! Really enjoyed it!

And at the moment I can't thing of anything else to comment, most songs were already aired or plain forgettable. I may be watching to it more carefully on the future tho.

To be honest, I'd prefer to have released any of the acoustic lives instead of this, but anyway...

@grunty re: different editing - yeah the biggest difference I noticed was Alleluia- they didn't show that one audience member sobbing like crazy after she sang "..yasashii darouka"

Overall I felt the concert was lacking. Only thing I really enjoyed was Edna and I agree with @ritardando - that live percussion really have life to "neverending". Of course I loved alleluia and KEIKO's grand entrance.

"Signal" was a horrible performance IMO. HIKARU is just shouting at this point. "Sakadatete susumuno.." - she cut the note so short. What a contrast to how long she held her last note in "destination unknown".

"Overture~in your eyes" was another performance I enjoyed. The intro got the crowd going wild, and had me moving my hips. I'm glad the first chorus was reassigned to WAKANA. Even my boyfriend said HIKARU sounded tired when she started singing at "itsunomanika..".

I listened to signal again up to the keyboard solo and I really didn't mind Hikaru. Heck, I even enjoyed Wakana. Guess I'm really losing my edge.

re-listened to Tsuioku again and is it just me or did they completely remove Wakana vocal in the kajiurago bridge? All I can hear were Kajiura playback and Hikaru harmony...

I'm too lazy to post in the request thread but into the world mp3 please because this live has better audio than the WOWOW broadcast.

Keiko's voice was really messy during her solo in tsuioku. She had much better vocal control in the 8th anniversary live version of the song.

Watched the part @magicmagiamahou posted earlier. Hanataba, KnGnN and Mirai were meh, though Hikarifuru made me tear up a little (it was beautiful)...

Then sprinter happened.

My Favorite Kalafina song + piano acoustic + audience singing = me crying more than a newborn baby ;-;

I am satisfied now. Thank you Kalagods for this majestic performance.

My first time watch impression was that the live was great! I liked most songs, even those i usually dislike. The camera work was superb, as it was vivid, showed all girls ( I think Hikaru a bit less ? ) while there were many audience moments and this made the live so much more exciting.

You get the feeling the video/audio was edited to pull attention away from Hikaru who seems to be the fan favorite at this event. Just my 2 cents.

it's impossible to pull attention away from Hikaru because how bad she sounded at the event lmao. if anything the audio/video editing and the song selections pull the attention away from Wakana.

btw someone uploaded Hikaru product introduction corner on YouTube
(it's not on the DVD/BD, he/she attended the concert and quite bravely recorded this part and also One Light)

I listened to One Light from that recording... and I think Hikaru was the best lol. (PS. It was all pretty bad though and/or just shit quality.) :p

I didn't listen/watch the video despite finding it actually. When the intro kicked in, I was like 'blergh One Light okbye not watching it thank you'. I loathe that song.

Where do you find sprinter, hanataba and rest of songs from 2nd day? In bilibili link it's only one day of live...

How did you manage to get yours there today :confu:. Mine's still stuck in customs.
