「Kalafina Anniversary LIVE 2025」15th January Tokyo Garden Theater (NO KAJIURA INVOLVEMENT)

Is that a plea for me to leave the thread and leave you be?
Of course not! Your comments are always welcome, even it's just to chide us a bit or do some fact-checking (you're quite good at that actually) when we get emotional in arguments.
Whoever is reading, please know that I do not want to take your love (or anyone's love) for Kalafina away or diminish it. It is yours. I wish you luck dealing with your neverending passion and emotions in the current era.
This is very kind of you to say since you have no stake or interest in these conversations.
I apologize in advance.
Apology accepted in advance!

honestly I can sympathize a little even though I do find it pointless to dwell on this after a while since there is literally nothing we can do. being vocal (nopunintended) about this issue may force them to join together again if there were thousands but... they should NOT.

Like a good tv show, sometimes things must end. I was slowly quitting Kalafina as Wakana's (and to some extent Hikaru's) voice slowly deteriorated. I do still feel very disappointed and sad when I listen to their voices from the early era.

Of course, we are not getting younger. I may have said this before but

The day Kajiura..

dies, one part of me will be hollow. Will I move on eventually? Yes guys lol this is just music.

If someone wants to trigger grunty very very bad, let grunty imagine a future where AI-Kajiura is making constant Kajiura-like songs and there is no death. It's there. Forever.

Oh how nice of you to say that.

Without getting into details (ancient stuff), I had my share of YK fan drama 10+ years ago. Some induced by me, some escalated by me. Not a proud moment for me when I think about it now. Being older, while I imagine I'd probably still mostly think the same, I hope I would not ACT as I had back then. Let's call it character growth. With time I learned to realize that a lot of it was precisely because of how passionate I was about certain things. And then Feelings of Betrayal, Anger, Sadness, Loneliness(in the fights I was having, not personal life XD) Etc did its thing and I lashed out and probably made a lot of people angry too... These days I am definitely trying to keep certain things about myself in check but also things around me. Though I imagine others still find me very confrontational. =D

So I get it, even though I don't necessarily agree.

Really? Speculating 7+ years later helps you that much? Will having to blame someone hypothetically help you cope? I would argue you might never be satisfied, since the truth might be different and valid for each and every party involved.

Yes, talking about it helps. Even if I know that a lot of time passed and they might never return to the same way as before. Like you said, their last reunion brought back old wounds. Talk with people that care about them helps releasing some feelings out of our chests.

Welp, it was only a matter of time. Pretty wild it lined up with the previous discussion though, lol.

(For convenience’s sake, the link Nightmare posted is an article saying that SpaceCraft is being absorbed into The Kinoshita Group due to ‘financial difficulties’. The president since the agency’s inception has also resigned.)

Can you screenshot or paste it cause its geolocked article for me.

The question is if Kinosita group are good people who leave space for artists to flurish or just another profit-maniac company that will make things worse (Spacecraft turned into space-less-craft)

Spacrcraft situation shows why there was nothing new Kalafina yet. If they didnt have $ to pay people there. Lets see if Kinoshita pushes the plan or re-disband them, really wondering what the girls will do in this case. I found this the other day: Screenshot_20250415_083020_com.diune.pictures.jpg

Wow... Honestly, I have been asking myself for a while now how they manage to stay afloat despite the artist exodus they experienced. I guess they basically went bankrupt in the end after all.

I read the article using deepL and apparently the old president is still working at the company as an "advisor"... So there is probably still no chance that SC wants to get back YK for the Kalafina project after this. Not that I think that there would be a high chance of YK accepting such an offer/request anyway after what happened. But as long as the old president is still involved in the company in some way, there is basically zero chance Kajiura will want to associate herself with SC anymore, I fear.

Yes, I guess you're right... and I fear they will push for new Kalafina music now they are afloat again.

Sorry if I'm being so negative about this, but as I've already stated a while ago, for me no Kalafina at all is still better than a Kalafina without YK. Let me also be clear that, personally I've got nothing against the girls at all. I know that there are apparently people who send hate towards them for the decision they made and I just want to make clear that I deplore such behaviour! I deeply respect them as vocalists and I wish them the best for the future. Nevertheless, a Kalafina without YK is not the real Kalafina anymore in my eyes (or rather ears). The name Kalafina is, to me, inseparably linked to YK's soundscape. If they released their new stuff under a new name though, I would have zero issues. But there is of course no way they will do this, as it would be a stupid decision from a marketing perspective.

I know, I really care way too much about this. I should just let go of this already and not care anymore, but I just can't (yet)...😩

So this development from Spacecraft was the reason we did not hear anything yet about the three ladies since the January reunion? They do deserve it due to their stupid actions since 2017.

....

No worries. I share the same sentiment with you. Kalafina without Kajiura is not Kalafina at all, and, despite wishing the three a bright future in their singing career, I find it hard for them to get back to the limelight they once had as Kalafina without Kajiura at their side.

So good luck with the restructured Shitcraft attempting to turn the three ladies again into a potential cash cow, not to mention that the resurgent Madoka franchise is moving on with Yuki Kajiura/FictionJunction with the fans starting to appreciate lighthouse at least. They will never again repeat the success they had with Magia with the way Shitcraft is still handling things.

Agreed, and I feel deeply torn about this as well. On one hand I wish the ladies success, because I think they deserve much more success than they had in the past, but on the other hand I actually also don't even wish for a Kalafina without YK to be successful, as mean as that sounds, as it would validate and reward SC for their "strategy" regarding the direction of Kalafina.

The president since the agency’s inception has also resigned.
The new president is someone who has been heading the entertainment division for a long time, so not a new face.

Well...
I read the article using deepL and apparently the old president is still working at the company as an "advisor"
Yep, having a level of influence on how Spacecraft relationships are maintained, unless it has a direct impact on the bottom line.
The name Kalafina is, to me, inseparably linked to YK's soundscape.
Exactly. It's not just the soundscape.

The very name "Kalafina" emerged from her mind as, I believe, an extension of her imagination regarding the musical storytelling purpose of the group. The name is also, I feel, an expression of her vocalizing an attempt at uniting her Japanese and European cultural roots - a world music name!

"Kalafina" is Kajiurago in name! It comes from deep within her, so it's not a throwaway term to her as a creator.

It might as well be the name of one of her songs, but also much more than just that, because the ladies H, K, and W (and M at the beginning) were there and all of those factors (including KnK as an anime) must have all fed into her eventual choice of naming the group.

Kajiura may have attempted to treat it as just a professional exercise when she left, but I think it means more to her. It's like her truest child in the industry, so losing it is not as casual or merely contractual as some people might want.

Oh, are you hearing this from Japanese audiences online? That would be nice to hear.
I think they deserve much more success than they had in the past
I continue to say I think if they had remained active up until the KnY anime, they may have been elevated by that anime to the status of being able to perform at Kohaku no Gassen New Year's Eve show.
