of course :XD: is it worth scanning every setlist or just the two you mentioned? are those the only ones without info floating on the internet somewhere??

^ we dont need the setlists since we know them already, what we need is the musicians that play in each of them, since we miss them for some of the lives.

I think all the setlist in CD 1 will be sufficient, 'cause since after Red Moon live, Kalafina always use the same band (FBM), save for some occassion. Once again, thanks a lot, WIFG! (I hope you're not angry we're abbreviating your username here, lol :XD:)

Thanks a lot WIFG!

I can wait more for my copy and a liste the two CD's :XD:

Amazing the performance, such this s the better selection for lives, really love Lirica Utsukushisa and Serenato (love the Hikaru's Kajiuran) :dote:

i can actually tell you some of the musicians by comparing the appearance of the kanji of the names to ones already known on this website in other lives. I can deduce that

closed premium musicians:
Yuuki Masahiko (Guitar), Nozaki Shinsuke (Drums), Darling Satou (Satou Tatsuya) (Keyboard), Oohira Yoshio (manipulator)
i have no idea who the violinist is, but its the same one in LIVE 2009 "storia", but i can't find that violinist anywhere.
EDIT: progressive+ 2010's musicians are exactly the same as LIVE 2009 "progressive", excuse my mistake before if you were early enough to see it before my edit :uh..:

[i have too much free time right now :uh..: ]

of course right now you'd have to take my word for it. i guess ill just wait till i can scan for solid proof :XD:

LOOOL, I totally hate Hikaru's kajiuran in serenato. I'm pretty sure they heavily edited it, since in unedited live of serenato, her kajiuran are really loud. They even cut some of her kajiuran and replaced it with the pre-recorded ones.

Anyway, I still prefer the Type-Moon Fes seventh heaven. Wakana does sound better in Closed Premium Live, but Hikaru is just annoying. Her voice is too cutesy in this song.

Just as expected, Hikaru is better in their newer live (CD2), while Wakana is better in their older live (CD1). Keiko is always amazing no matter what~

Hikaru is super in sprinter ~acoustic~ though.

Anyway, thanks for the musician info, WIFG.

AS EXPECTED, NOZAKI IS IN DRUM. HIS DRUM IS DEFINITELY EPIC AND BETTER THAN SATO. I'm asking for the musician info 'cause I really love the drum in CD1 songs. lirica, interlude 01, and serenato are epic. Kizuato is even better than the on in Type-Moon Fes.

I know right, serenato's drums are freaking awesome! I kinda wish there was a re-recorded version that sounded like this (and this is coming from someone who has listened to the original serenato more than any other Kalafina track)

I've always loved Nozaki's drum more than Sato. If you want to compare their skills, just hear the live vol.4 'here we stand in the morning dew' and 'Houseki', and just compare it to the live vol.9. For Kalafina, just compare 'Kizuato' from this CD and YK live vol.2 or type-moon Fes DVD. His soft drumming in seventh heaven live flows better with the song mood, compared to Sato's drum in Type-Moon Fes, which kinda ruin the song's mood for me.

I agree, the drums in seventh heaven sounded out of place. that being said, i didn't really notice this at first since I was wetting myself from actually seeing a live of seventh heaven for the first time ever lol

I personally still think Sato is overall a great drummer

btw i didn't even know vol. 9 videos existed. i fail as a yuki/kalafina/FJ fan

Sato is overall a great drummer, but Nozaki is better (at least, for me) :XD:

There is a video of YK live vol.9 day 1 (the Japanese songs only), and we'll get the day 4 (or the 'amazing one day' , as the writing say) DVD in February.

@WIFG yes the August 31 YK vol 9 live was streamed http://canta-per-me.net/2012/08/yuki-ka ... -streamed/ while the one coming out on DVD in February is the one of September 9 that had Hanae Tomaru and ASUKA as guests http://canta-per-me.net/2012/11/yuki-ka ... announced/

Here are the musicians for the progressive 2009 live http://canta-per-me.net/live-events/200 ... ogressive/ if you want we have a list of musicians here http://canta-per-me.net/musicians/ with their names in kanji too, we have most of the ones that played in lives so it might help you identify the names.

@ ritardando: ouch, Hikaru's kajiurago at the beginning of serenato is what grunty would call earcancer :uh..:

I still have to listen the four last songs of the disc 2, but I feel like I must vent something...

I... don't like (I'm not gonna say "hate", only because I can't say it when Kalafina is envolving) the acousting version of Sprinter... Too slow! Sprinter, please, sprinter I don't know if this is because I'm also a KnK fan and the 5th film is one of my favorites, if it's because I don't like slow songs... The performance was great, their voices sound as good as ever, but I definitively... hate this version.

Saying this, I can calm down and keep listen -w-

And yes, the drums on Serenato were epic, but Hikaru's kajiurago was... strident

^ Come on, accoustic versions are destined to be slower, even the Kimi ga hikari ni kaete iku acoustic, from Re/oblivious is slower that the also ballad original song. Personally I enjoyed this sprinter very much because due to the fact that its slower you can hear the words as well as who sings what line clearer.

Then the violinist in closed premium live is Marina Minagawa, if it's the same with live 2009 storia.

@George : I did say that I totally hate her kajiuran in serenato, right? And I hate her harmony in lirica's kajiuran as well. Like an old granny.

@george1234
You're right with that, I'm sorry. I have the tendency of search every voice when I listen the songs, and since I love Sprinter and I have listened it thousand times, maybe I wasn't aware of the fact you can listen their voices better in the acoustic version. And the slow songs don't tend to attract my atention except when I have a good reason (for example, I didn't like Kimi ga or Seventh Heaven until I watched the movies) Maybe if I listen the acoustic version again, I'll start to like it.

Now, talking about the whole thing. I prefer the disc 1 over the 2. I love Lirica, Ashita no Keshiki, the Interlude and Serenato (save the Hikaru kajiurago) and I think maybe the best live versions of Kizuato and Matta Kaze ga Tsuyoku Natta are here. From the disc 2, I like Progressive and Kyrie, and the overture before Fairytale was beautiful... And that (?)

Wasn't really planning on posting but since I noticed my nick mentioned (studio magicks aside):

I actually quite like this serenato - I feel like they are putting their emotions into it rather than "just singing". However, considering how off some of the vocals are one has to wonder how bad it was originally. :P I also kind of wonder if the Premium Live vocals had less studio post processing cause they sound decidedly less polished (I like it, lol).

Really like the extended intro on Kagayaku. Don't remember it from other lives.

Ashita no Keshiki, Utsukushisa and lirica are great and wish they were included on DVD.

I hated Keiko's obnoxious singing in the main parts of interlude 01. I know it's ~sort-of-similar~ on CD but it didn't bother me there. It's actually frustating to me because she sounds really nice in the chorus work and Hikaru/Wakana sound great throughout. Her screaming in sprinter annoys me everytime, too, but even more so in this slower arrange.

What else hmmm Magia was sort of a mess from what I remember, lol.

I hate how many of the elongated sfx overtures they included.

PS. I don't know if it's just the mp3s but the recording quality seems pretty poor. (my bad)

just got mine! :sohappy:
wow from the cover picture you'd think it's very plain but the box is really beautiful~ and the cover of the cd has a picture of them from a progressive live

QOK3ZgW.jpg

the photo book is awesome! though I wish they put less pictures from progressive and AE and more from kagayaku :TdT:
this picture of hikaru is probably my favourite picture from the whole booklet :hearts:

(looks better irl)

haven't watched the pvs yet, have only been listening to the lives as of now~ Gloria is the one that stood out the most for me so far :hearts: but I havent finished listening to them all yet :ohoho:
I only wish that they had chosen a lirica and utsukushisa live where korechan was on guitar :wai:

oh and here's the postcard :D
BhbXHYh.jpg

EDIT: ohmygosh sprinter acoustic ver is so beautiful! :touched:

EDIT2: here are the scans of the setlists pages:idol:

Just listened to lirica... wow, definately love the original more. Although I did like Keiko's solo part, kind of. I'll listen to it without headphones tomorrow to see if it makes a difference, but I think the sound was off. Utsukushisa is good so far. So jealous of all the people who got postcards and different things.

I agree with you grunty too about Keiko's singing in the beginning of interlude, but it does get better. I like it later and Hikaru's part. It reminds me a bit of Hoshikuzu. Liking serenato so far. Even the weird beginning. I was like, that's Hikaru in the background? heh I love the variations on the singing though.

^hm I like the live version of lirica more personally

+ Thank you aki for scanning those!

If it was my rips that you downloaded, then i can assure you that the mp3 quality is the same as the CD (unless you have an audiophile sound system and audiophile ears and can pick up the difference between 320kbps and Lossless audio :ohoho: )

Actually it was my setup - I had some random EQ on for whatever reason, lol.
