^ thanks!

So the harp is synth :( oh well... they would never bring a harp player in a Kalafina concert for just 1 song anyways.

Well, Yuki Kajiura might, but there might also be more than one song with harp by then (and there is harp on the Shin Kyuseishu Densetsu Hokuto no Ken Raoh Den Junai no Sho / Yuria Den Original Soundtrack also).

Although it wasn't anything to do with Yuki Kajiura, I remember a grand piano being brought on stage for a single song at NoNukes 2012 (死んだ女の子 by Chitose Hajime with Ryuichi Sakamoto accompanying).

Okay, I am listening to it, since it isn't coming until tomorrow and I won't have time to put it on my computer. So I will write the review as I listen to I don't miss anything!

into the water: Wow, interesting. It sounds like something from a soundtrack. Maybe she had that in mind with far on the water from RHH. But it did not sound as I pictured it. I like it though.

monochrome: I already like the intro. Hmm. Not sure I like the echoeing Keiko. I like the bridge/chorus though. How it rises up (rising up! heh). The accordion is really cool here. The guitar is like the opening to destination unknown in the Best Live. I liked that a lot and wish it was in the studio actually. The ahhhs remind me of the signal parts that I like. Which is Wakanas/Keikos. I like it. It does end kind of abruptly.

Gogatsu: Wow. I like it. Wakana is really nice here. There are a lot of high (pick up notes are what they are called in violin) notes so I hope she can do those well in the lives. I love the strings. (Since I am a Konno fan and the reason I took violin was because of Yuki and him.) I like Hikaru here. It does have that Distance vibe. I also thought of Kagayaku in the beginning. I like how I can hear Keiko before the Kajiurago part well (which I love also, really beautiful!) I imagine the two of them singing back to back. And the kind of shaky notes after that part remind me of Lacrimosa. "Kisu" Huh! lol I like the soft part a LOT. I like when songs do this, and then bring in the instruments heavy again. This song is amazing imo! I want to hear it live and almost want to play it, but know I won't be able to master it well. It does sound like a Sengoku Basara insert or something (reminds me of a Chiaki song actually.)

Usumurasaki: The beginning sounds similar to SAO II soundtrack. I like that I can hear Keiko. Not sure I like this song right away though. It sounds similar to her songs in Fate Zero like Babylon and mission, especially the strings which I love. But Hikaru sounds a little long winded? in this song. I love the soft part again though. Another one I would like to play, if I can just get the melody part down, or apart from the heavy instrumental part. It is pretty heavy, I hope we can hear the girls if they sing it live. Also, I love the chimes/echoey parts in the beginning and end. They remind me of that part of Kotonoha that I love. I will give this more listens today.

identify: Hey, Keiko gets to sing! I know she's in the background of the other songs. I didn't really like this song from the sample, but I think I'll like it with more listens. This also seems like an out of breath songs in lives. Like destination unknown (and they played magnolia, DU and signal I think one after the other so I'm worried this will happen again.) I like the side by side and the other English one. Keiko's part I like. I think this will be a fun one live, like ongaku, where she will like singing it so much. I was hoping for another one like it. (Though I know ongaku is used too much. But because Keiko loves it so much maybe? heh) It will grow on me, not one I like right away.

Hokage: I like it. It is like sapphire, which I have said before I like. It does remind me a lot of lilium, I forgot who said that sorry. I will read all the reviews after I listen. It is really nice. I think it does fit after some rocking songs to put a ballad in there. The abrupt ending again though, unless part of the song got cut off.

Musunde: I really like the flow of this song. Like I said before about driving in the car. It will be a good one to listen to there. Keiko has some lines! It seems like a sad song though, to me. The melody is somewhat melancholic. Is that Yuriko singing or was that confirmed that it is Wakana? It does seem like each of them are singing it sadly a bit. I will have to look at the lyrics though. I like it though. The transitions are a bit weird.

Sorairo no Isu: I already loved this from the sample. It gets stuck in my head and stays there for a long time, which is a good thing. I actually love the strings in this album, since Konno wasn't too prominent in the One Light single. Not even in the title track. And it's a celctic feel for sure. There is a Hikaru and Keiko part that I like. And that Hikaru part towards the end, like her "sayonara" in fairtale. I liked how she did it in Budokan so I hope she does it like that for this one as well. It is very short, but very lovely. Thumbs up from me.

far on the water: At the last song already! *sigh* I already said I love Keiko's part. Hikaru is okay I think. Wakana seems to be enjoying herself, as we can see from the short PV. Love the Kajiurago part. It does seem like a fitting end to the album too (forgot who said that too, I think Sofia?) now that I have heard the rest of the songs. I do remember this instrumental part with Rie's flute. I like it. It gives the girls a bit of a break in the song and concert I think. (If they do use it at the end of the concert. Can't wait to see the set lists!) Rie is so awesome, I wish she had been used more in the album. It wasn't a long instrumental part though, like people have been saying. I thought maybe it took up half the song, which I am glad it didn't. Not that I didn't like it. It didn't really have that ritard at the end, like Yume no Daichi has. So it could have ended better. Maybe slow down the singing more toward the end before the ending. But oh well, still love it. Might be a favorite soon.

My ratings per song: into the water=4, monochrome=7, Gogatsu=9, Usumurasaki=7 (but that could change with more listens, 7 is still good though from me, and this is out of 10 obviously) identify=6 (again could change) Hokage=6, Musunde=9, fotw=10.
Some thoughts: Love the Konno love in this album. There were few guitar solos. I think identify and monochrome had one. Maybe Usumu (shortened title heh) too. But hopefully he'll just do his own thing like he does sometimes at concerts. I wish there was more Rie. I love her playing. And the camera person loved her in Budokan too. heh Overall my ratings for the albums, which I won't include the bests like everyone has been doing: SH>RM>AE>Consolation>fotw. Not that I hate the album, I just need to give it more time I think. And hear the lives and see that Keiko is in the songs too. I am sure they all are and Hikaru actually did have a fair amount, I think. Overall I give this album an 8/10. There are a few nitpicky things about it I didn't like, like some people, but then there were awesome things! Also I will be getting my album tomorrow so I can scan in the booklet when I get back from my sister's if needed.

That was probably me saying Sapphire sounded kinda like Lilium, I've thought that for quite a while.

Not sure when I'll get mine, it's left Japan now via EMS but it depends of customs decide to get their shitty hands on it. It *should* be exempt from charges due to the cost, but knowing them they'll throw it around the office for a week for no actual reason even if they don't apply fees. If not it'll probably be here either Thursday or Friday.

@Liana_Ilia Yuriko is credited in Musunde so I think it is her (if you are referring to the part I think you are) .. but yeah it does sound like two voices.

I'm getting my album either tomorrow or the next day, but I did listen again in my car and it suddenly hit me. I do not like the way Hikaru sounds in RYB, FOTW, Musunde Hiraku, and maybe a couple other songs but her voice sticks out like a sore thumb in those especially. I know her voice naturally sticks out, but it's really noticeable in this album. IMO she sounds way better in AE and Consolation era. A lot of her parts should've been given to Keiko tbh. I don't think this album is bad and couple days ago I would've said FOTW>AE but now I think FOTW=AE for last place. I think I'll give up waiting for the epic ethereal/"other world" songs …..it's been years. :'(

@grunty: Only Kajiura credited in 'into the water" as chorus so I bet its Kalafina + her on the song.

I am going for a two week holiday in a few days, and was patiently waiting for my cd to arrive, until I was rudely (not really) informed that my cd will probably come next week, so I collapsed and listened to the songs. Gonna review all of the songs:

into the water: Really surprising. Even though the song is basically sound effects and chanting, it was kind of peaceful, though it really doesn't fit "kalafina" if that makes any sense. Didn't like the abrupt ending tho :/

monochrome: Pleasantly surprised. Accordion and cool guitar melody as well as a great melody throughout the song, not to mention the lyrics are cool.

Gogatsu no Mahou: Reminds me of a theme for an adventure anime or something. The violin melody is generic, but gives me the image of wind blowing. I swear I've heard a melody like this somewhere before, but the lyrics are really nice, not to mention Wakana's falsetto reminded me of her old voice.

ring your bell: Very pretty and all that, nice harmonies, skip.

Usumurasaki: Weird... There is no real structure to this song, which kind of made me wonder "when is this going to end?" During the middle song I couldn't tell who was singing, Keiko? The Arabian feel was cool, but it was kind of strange... not a stand out.

identify: Finally, the Hikaru/Keiko rock song I've been waiting for forever! I swear they made it so that they could stop singing destination unknown in concerts. The Keiko verses were badass, not the mention the guitar, and the chorus was very much the best part of the song. The worst parts would be Hikaru's pre-chorus, really generic :/

Hokage: A thing I expect in ballads is for it so lead me, get me into a mood. But putting a song like this after a rock song with an abrupt start put me off the song at first. But then I looked at the lyrics and was like "DID SOMEONE DIE?!" Now the sad lyrics have made me love the song more, not the mention the string section of the section is just amazingly beautiful.

One Light: How about... they put One Light after identify? That'd seem a lot better than random placing of music. This song is still annoyingly catchy, catchy enough to be stuck in my head for about three days or more, but I'm getting sick of this song.

Musunde Hiraku: Worst new song on the album. Just... it's so boring. Melody is awfully generic, its long and drags itself out that even with the wonderful lyrics I can't seem to stand it anymore by the end. Skip.

heavenly blue: eww, skip.

Sora-iro no Isu: IS THAT HARP?! *falls out of chair* This song gave me a beautiful image of a blue-laced and old fashioned chair sitting (somehow) on water that's rippling at its touch, but otherwise is completely silent. This song gave one of the best melodies of the album, and that violin is beautiful. Not to mention Wakana's vocals were beautiful and I loved the "kaze wa isogu" part.

believe: skip.

far on the water: The melody for Keiko and Hikaru's parts are boring, but the melody and harmonies for Wakana's main parts are really nice. I love the "doko made mo doko made mo" part, and the lyrics are beautiful. Listening to this song just makes me happy, and the violin part after the kajiurago is so achingly beautiful is pulls at my heart. Not my favourite song of the album, but a great way to end it with you feeling good.

Overall, this album might not feel the best to some people, but aside from the singles, this album is pretty decent. Lack of Keiko bothered me, but I've learnt to expect it at this point.
Favourite Song: monochrome
Least Favourite Song: believe & heavenly blue (ties cause I couldn't choose one that I hate more over the other).

Is that a bus????????
SEE! I told you KALAFINA WILL TAKE OVER THE TRANSPORT WORLD ONE VEHICLE AT A TIME.
Secondly I agree that song placement is odd in this album. That generally seems to be a common theme like how the second song for Blue day was Love Come Down after Storia. If you re-arrange it, it definitely leaves an impact.
I personally feel like Usumurasaki should go after Into The Water. Sound wise it makes more sense.

Yaaaay! I'm watching too, I hope for live performance! Even short one!

They're about to perform! While they're getting ready, the One Light PV's playing now. Better tune in for those who aren't watching it.

Hello all! It's been a while since I was last here but I'm on the stream right now. So far they've sung One Light and are currently performing RYB. Am attempting to record, but I can't guarantee anything. The girls are on fire, though. Really fantastic performance so far!!

EDIT: OMG OMG OMG THEYRE PERFORMING GOGATSU NO MAHOU

EDIT 2: IT'S SO GOOD Y'ALL
