I can't open monochrome :touched:
Identify... It's cool! I like Keiko verses and these middle-east endings. Refrain is a little strange for me - it sounds very generic. But the last verse of refrain is really nice!:goodjob:

indeed identify at first reminded so much of love come down. Other than that sounds interesting

monochrome, is like knk x accordeon x electronic, its like a step further from signal, really interesting approach :ayashii:

Here's my review of the samples

Monochrome sounds cool, like Moonfesta and Signal had a baby (I forget who said that earlier, sry). I do like Wakana's part in it, and Keiko's filtered line right before the chorus. Not too fond of Hikaru's part though.

Identify.... is identified as being an awesome intro and verse/prechorus, but sucky chorus. The verse sounds like Love Come Down with a little bit of Fantasia mixed in. And might as well not mention the chorus. I'll put the chorus side by side with the other Kalafina songs I don't like (which amounted to 4 songs prior to it) :XD:

Order of samples from like the most to least: 1. Sorairo no Isu, 2. Monochrome, 3. Musunde Hiraku, 4. Identify

monochrome: Sadly it cut off on Keiko's part, which sounded interesting; I hope it's not just a single line in there. I do like Wakana's part too, even though the album is already so Wakana-heavy. I think this song has more potential for me.

Also, this song reminds me more of elemental with different instruments.

identify: Hooray, Keiko verse in a more rock song! Since I like lcd, I'm cool with this (and even happier that she's not trying to sing it too cutesy). It kinda sounds a bit generic, though.

Sorairo sounds the nicest so far. I hope the full version of these songs make me like them more.

OMG!!! Monochrome! What a funny song! It's really interesting! I love it!:hearts: Especially beginning and Hikaru verses! Keiko sounds so male. It's too short to make an opinion.
FOW will be the most interesting album of Kalafina.

Woohoo! Someone else who likes love come down. (This is still one of my favorites, even though obbligato is still my fave so far, from the moment I heard it back in 2008.) But I will try not to listen to these samples since I want to be surprised. heh

I love it too but its weird she uses that melody after this long time hoping we will not notice.

Also Keiko is probably just one line there since the sample ends without her (?) maybe she will have more in the bridge or something.

Monochrome reminds me of gaika and signal:dote:

If something like this is the mentioned energetic, then i dont mind at all

First off, thank you for those who offered the download links @shiro and @Hatouchan

Next, I just want to point out that I think it is a tad unfair to call these new songs "children" of past Kalafina songs wedded together. I personally think each song deserves its own fair "first tasting" rather than comparing them to older songs... It makes the songs almost seem like a "part two" to something else, a mere shadow of an existence rather than a solid composition.

Thoughts:
There is surely a more playful, almost whimsical circus theme to the new sample "monochrome". I am reminded of Alice in Wonderland, where reality seems distorted and dreamlike. I really enjoy this disordered world Kajiura is bringing us into with the voices of Kalafina.

As for "identify", it has got that 90s feel all over again! 90s anime opening for some mecha anime! Really loving the throwback themes recently... (i.e. Samidarega sugitakoroni). KEIKO's opening was fantastic, as expected from her, and her voice is just so full of playfulness and sass.

Ha! My thoughts exactly:ohoho:

Wat?

My willpower is almost about to break. I really wanna hear these samples but I don't want to ruin the experience of listening to an album for the first time. :comeback:

Someone forgot to iron them.

the first thing that came into my mind when i saw that photo is, "lol Hikaru's dress is so wrinkly :XD:"

and on a closer look those dresses basically are Hikarifuru dresses cut in some places with ring your bell curtains added.
