Kalafina 3rd Album「After Eden」

The whole album is bright LOL Magia seems a bit out of place in it.
Sandpiper - serenato?
destination unknown - seems niiiiiiiiice. See, your guitar is here XD
magnolia - the upbeat song that I'll probably skip most of the time

It seems to me that we'll have even less Keiko as main as before.

I'll post a rip of the samples to mediafire in a moment for those who can't stream.

in the next post

Eden listened to it a couple of times and I like it more now
sandpiper is awesome! the bridge sounds very nice too with all these straings :dote:
kugatsu sounds really good in proper quality
in your eyes is upbeat, didnt excite me much though.
destination unkown OMG that songs is great, probably the faster song hikaru and keiko have ever sung, something between Magia and Mata Kage ga Tsuyoku Natta. Loving IT!!!! :nosebleed: :nosebleed:
neveredning reminds me melody-wise of a Chiba Saeko song "My song" but I think I will get used to the Kalafina one
Kotonoha bad sample, sound boring :uh..:
magnolia kinda like love come down wakana ver :XD:
Mune no Yukue nice hamornies and love the accoustic piano, really a fresh song Yuki-wise but kinda reminds me of jungle (Tarzan!! :XD: )
In symphonia there's part of the new part of the song, the bass is heard more and there's some more horn at the end

Overall seems to be a good album, certainly more happy than Red Moon. full version will form my overall opinion

It seems to me that we'll have even less Keiko as main as before.

I'll finish up my Politics homework and order my Psychology textbooks then listen to them and give my impressions here. Then again on tumblr except with less eloquence and more vulgarity.

Here's all the samples: ?1zayoqblzexo3lb

IMHO from the samples it seems like an album full of NATSU NO RINGOs, KUMBAYAs and Lion King songs. NO THANK YOU.

I really liked destination unknown. Magnolia, too. The rest is pretty forgettable from the samples but to Kajiura's credit, for better or worse, it doesn't even sound like a Kajiura produced CD.

in your eyes is like a music from the legendary Sonic on Megadrive!! I love it!! Sweet 90s!! *____*
I also like magnolia though it reminds me of love come down with Wakana leading.
About Mune no Yukue I'll say: WOW. Seems innovative.
Kugatsu HQ ;D The drums gives power and pride.
sandpiper, neverending, destination unknown... meh...

Hey! Symphonia new part! ♪└( ̄◇ ̄)┐♪└( ̄◇ ̄)┐♪└( ̄◇ ̄)┐♪

To my iPod!! lol

I'm amazed how you ALWAYS come up with sarcastic comments that are supposed to speak NOT in favour of the album but manage to make me all the more anticipant. :ohoho:

Jokes aside, Lion King OST was the first album I ever looped silly on my cassette player. Ah, the memories... :shy: :XD:

Thanks for the samples, can't wait to check them out. :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

I'll try to sort my thoughts:
Eden: A nice song. Nothing fantastic, and since it basically names the album, I think I was expecting for a better song (especially since my favorite songs from Seventh Heaven and Red Moon are the the ones that share their names with the albums). I rather like Wakana's part but I'm indifferent about Hikaru's. Also the kajiurago part doesn't really amuse me. But after a few more listens it may grow on me.
sandpiper - I sure wasn't expecting this. It's basically Natsu no Ringo, but seems to be better. I agree with george about the strings bridge.
Kugatsu - I...don't know. I may end up liking it, it's not necessarily a bad song but it is not really good either.
in your eyes - I don't know². I don't like Hikaru's voice in the ending of the song.
destination unknown - Best song of the new ones. Period. May turn out to be the best song of the whole album. THAT BASS!
neverending - seems...nice?
Kotonoha - I believe I will like this song.
Magnolia - Most probably most people will love this song, but I surely won't. Well, blame my dislike for "techno-songs"
Mune no Yukue - Very different indeed.
Symphonia's new part - Nothing out of ordinary.
For the time being, it seems like a nice album. Definitely a different approach by Kajiura, and I believe it will most certainly not appeal to everyone.
Personally, I miss a powerful ballad like Kimi ga... and Seventh Heaven, but oh well.

about symphonia
Does it include guitar? YESSS
magnolia
Kyrie and love come down combination? not bad!
sandpiper
maybe serenato, but I love it more than serenato
Eden
very nice
Kugatsu
my favourite from the new songs
neverending
a little Hitomi no Kakera like guitar
in your eyes
I don't know where to put this song
Mune no Yukue
lots of English and Keiko
Kotonoha
very sad, intermezzo ver. 2.0, it can be very dangerous, since I came to love it at first hear like Kugatsu
destination unknown
just wooooowwww, it's rock like Magia...and when Keiko starts her part... :sohappy: :sohappy:

But yeah, Magia is a bit out of place. Oh well, lets combine it with destination unknown!! :shy:

@Nick
No matter how negative or sarcastic grunty's comments may be, you will most probably love everything Kajiura releases, and you know it XD

Again, before we have heard the majority of the tracks, what makes you expect such a turn of events? :confu:

Mainly because Kajiura-sensei seems to be currently using flute more than guitar. It seems logical to expect more flute, since we've been getting more in OSTs and other recent releases. Also, she only seems to use Koichi-san in upbeat songs (the only gentler solo I've ever heard her use was in Inca Rose), so if the songs are more relaxed, then I would expect flute/acoustic guitar. (No violin, for some odd reason.)

However...

^If you're expecting guitar solos, I believe the songs that have the higher probability of having it are in your eyes, destination unknown (♥) and maybe magnolia.

^ Thanks! If they're upbeat (I know Magnolia is), you'll probably be right.

Please don't tell me any more, though! I'm not going to listen to the samples at all, so I want to be surprised :plot:

I thought i had posted in this thread about when the samples would be released and they were (but i cant find it anywhere). I was so worried about the change of sound, but...i love the samples. I am so excited for this album. I can't wait to get it in Japan (seeing as though the money i would order it with is goign for my Japan visit this summer). I love each and every tracks, some tracks have that fun travel channel theme song feel, others still dark and mysterious. I like how well rounded these 3 albums have been. Can't waitt! 10 days (hopefully early :nosebleed: )

Ok then! :V:

Anyway, I'm still looping destination unknown's sample. This song has potential to make it to my top 5.

I have 2 days to decide if i buy Kalafina Record LE or my monthly mangas. =((((

The album is clearly different from the previous two, and sounds VERY enticing. :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: Melodies are not only beautiful, but in the verse area they evoke my curiosity from what I hear (which is why I'm very miffed at Kotonoha sample's length :knife: ). I'd say the album now exceeds my previous expectations, except that now I'm loaded with even bigger ones. :XD:
I'll post more detailed thoughts on each track tomorrow. Oyasuminasai for now...

I was bored so I write down the lyrics form the samples:

Just shows how different our tastes and expectations from a Kajiura record are.

Mind you, Natsu no Ringo is one of my favorite songs on Seventh Heaven. I just wouldn't ever want an album filled with more songs like that.

Oh yea, also with how most of these songs are the ACOUSTIC LIVE is not that surprising anymore.

Here's my responce to your "generic Kajiurago" wall of text.
