Kalafina 3rd Album「After Eden」

I think that postcard is more fitting as a freebie for the Madoka OSTs. I mean, only one song on After Eden has to do with Madoka. And it's nice that the characters are wearing Kalafina dresses, but when I order a Kalafina album I expect to see Kalafina. I wonder if the mousepads also have Madoka characters. :uh..:

off: JESUS, everyone is punching my PC! LOL

Oh, I'll be so angry if the mousepad turns out to be from Madoka instead of Kalafina.

I'll be honest - just before the pic loaded, I've been reading the posts and finding the idea strange enough to share the opinions here.
Then I saw these three in Kalafina outfits and was sold completely. :nosebleed: :shy: :dote:
Sorry, everyone. I'm afraid I LOVE the idea now. :XD:

Now, if PMMM girls are associated with Kalafina this way, then I've got a question... Who is supposed to be who? :ayashii: :ohoho:

Mami = Wakana
Homura = Keiko
Madoka = Hikaru

Don't worry,it's just an extra postcard.
If you buy the album@animate,gamers and toranoana,you will get both Kalafina artist postcard and this madoka postcard.

I agree completely. :ayashii:

I'd really love to have that postcard...but I'm ordering from Play-Asia...

^ Magia is the ED theme song for Madoka Magica. Where have you been? :V

Oh, I know, but isn't there only one song on the album that has anything even remotely connected to Madoka? It just doesn't seem like a strong enough correlation to warrant a postcard themed around it.

Thanks, Winter. I might give Magia PV a completely different view now. :ohoho:

I'm surprised myself, but oh well - this only song DOES happen to be Kalafina's most recent BIG hit which smells like good promotion prospects and that in turn smells like money (and we know SME likes this scent :psst: ). I think Kowz has summarized it fine:

That's very clever of you Sony. Now Madoka fags are going to buy the album.

Come to think of it, it's not the first time Kalafina releases feature some tie-in artwork, seeing as the band was gathered for KnK movies in the first place. Oblivious SP had KnK illustrations as part of the booklet, and Seventh Heaven featured an interview with Kinoko Nasu. Granted, the album obviously had more subject-related songs. :XD:

The madokafags-appealing campaign has one positive potential (aside from boosting album sales, that is) - there were likely a number of people who were introduced to Yuki's music through PMMM. Now, if they're encouraged to buy the album, they'll have an even better view on her style and works, prompting them to seek other releases and bringing Yuki moar fans. :sparkleguy: :plot: :sohappy:

It is a good marketing campaign, I'll give SONY that. However, I think that it'd be an even better marketing campaign if they lowered the price of the L.E. Kalafina Record. Even if that's got nothing to do with marketing.

Unrelated -> ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ

I agree that they should lower the price, although I just ordered it from cdjapan, since they couldn't get it in from the other place since it's such an "unusual item" (their words). ugh... I wish the LE of the album was a little cheaper too. *sigh* Only one more month though!

Re:

That poster is serious facepalm, lol.

Every single for KnK had illustrations. But Madoka sells more, so this album will be sold better than SH (if Magia beat oblivious...).

I still don't have any money left over from buying the R.E. After Eden CD. :blood:

But I hope that the mousepad isn't Madoka-themed, even though I'm not sure I'll get it considering I ordered from YesAsia to avoid shipping like the cheapskate I am.

Seconded. Not like I dislike Madoka Magica, but I want Kala instead :innocent:

I think it does, to some extent, because if the price is a little lower, then more people buy it. Not as though Japan's economy is any better than the rest of the world's...the cheaper things are, the more willing people are to spend money, given the fact that most of them have less of it.

But of course Sony makes tons of money from tons of merchandise, electronics, etc., so they don't really care about less people buying one book/T-shirt combo :psst:

Actually, I think I read that Japan has a very high sense of snobbery about buying products; so, in general, if something costs more then more people might be willing to buy it because they believe that it's "better" than any cheaper alternative.

That may be wrong, though, so... :confu:

^ You're probably right. One thing I know is that brands are very important - I seem to remember reading about young Japanese women who'll go out of their way to buy expensive brands of clothing and accessories while otherwise living frugally. So probably that extends to the price of things too...

It's still frustrating, though. I wish Sony took the time to consider the fans in other parts of the world...for example, the DVD that came with my girugamesh book was Region-Free, so how come the Kala DVDs are Region 2? :blood:

^ I don't have a problem with that, since Europe uses the same DVD Region as Asia does. :ohoho:

But if it doesn't cost substantially more, I do think they could cash in from other international fans and make a larger profit. It's fairly obvious that Kalafina and FictionJunction both have foreign fans, so it seems like a wasted oppertunity. Sometimes I wish I could've took Business Technology instead of Graphic Design Technology, since I find that more interesting, but nooo, Business Technology isn't a technology.

^ Good for you! :dote:

I suppose they must figure that there aren't enough fans to give them back what they spend - maybe they'll spend a million dollars more and only get back five hundred thousand in profit. :confu:

You're learning graphic design? :waii:
