Re: Haruna Luna "Sora wa Takaku Kaze wa Utau" (Fate/Zero ED2

^I did. *sigh* While I like Sora wa, it wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be. Although I want to hear the full song. Hopefully the others will be good though. :shy:

I was considering getting it, but I'll wait until I listen to the B-sides because their titles sound rather idol-y and I'm not convinced I will like them :XD:

Actually somehow I'm quite sure that Haruna will do better with the b-sides because the b-sides somehow will have a robotic-techno-idol music. Sure gonna work well with her robotic voice lol

I like this song... sadly, I can't say the same for the singer.
If there are any Haruna Luna fan here, I'm not here to offend you -- it's just that, I think her mediocre voice doesn't suit this song. I know there are other songs best suited for her... it's just not this one...

Somehow, I can picture it being sung by Keiko with Wakana or Kaori in the background singing Kajiuran parts.

And the covers: they look... bad. I'm no photography expert, but through the eyes of a common person, it doesn't really look appealing and attention-grabbing.

Actually, I suppose Yuuka could sing this song, too. Not Wakana or Yuriko, though - their voices would change the feel of the song, IMHO.

^
Actually I feel that Yuuka is only one step ahead of Haruna in matter of emotion-bringing to a song...
Keiko, Hikaru, or Kaori will do best.

@Nick: I think Yuuka would need the song changed to fit her voice. Haruna goes all the way down to G, which I can barely reach, so I'm not sure if Yuuka's range would be that low. Keiko would probably be able to sing it best in the original keys, I think :ayashii:

The range in pitch is what impressed me too actually. Judging by the discussion on one of the blog posts, Luna's mega-short...and yet she has quite a lot of depth to her voice! Sure, she doesn't sound as good overall as some of Yuki's other vocalists, but I think she has potential...as long as she isn't one of those one hit wonders who's forgotten about soon after her debut.

I hope she doesn't become a regular Yuki vocalist though, unless she improves a lot :uh..: I mean, it's nothing personal against her, and I don't think she's awful, but she's not in the same level of the utahimes and I wonder if we need another mezzosoprano when there's already Yuuka, Hikaru and Kaori around for that...

I'm 99% sure Kajiura is only composing for Haruna because she needed a strong song to debut with. And well, what better oportunity for the present moment than to have Kajiura compose a song for F/Z's ed? Perfect indeed.

I'm just not 100% sure because I don't want to be trolled in the future lol

I kinda agree to this.
Perhaps, the people behind Haruna Luna is looking forward to her winning the Anison Grand Prix. But since she didn't win, they have to look for another opportunity to debut her as a singer. She already has this "makings" of an idol who will sell -- being an accomplished model and all...

Sorry, this is just my mind going wild again.

I agree with you too. This was actually the first thought that came to my mind when I was reading the discussions about why Kalafina got to the beginning and Haruna got the supposedly 'better' song. She needs a strong debut otherwise she might not make an impact at all.

Anyway I thought she did quite well. The song in my opinion is really good, and I felt she sustained it well enough. This makes me look forward to her future works. Although I do hope that this song gets covered one day by the utahimes. Just thinking about what harmonies could do for this song... :nosebleed:

I think I'd rather have Kalafina have To the Beginning because of Manten :ohoho:

You don't think they're trying to use this as the 'big break' for Luna in the same way that they did for Marina Inoue when she did Houseki? I get the same impression of "she's not really suited to FJ but could do really well in her own right..."

I still can't bring myself to dislike the song, but I know where the critics are coming from...it's good, but a bit generic by Yuki's standards.

It will be a pain for me too if you are wrong :ohoho:
