^Well, at least it won't be long till we get to listen to the first part of the OST :ayashii:

Cliffhanger as expected. That was the ultimate cliffhanger :uh..:

I think there was 1 new music,

the
- long piano piece between rider and Waver talk

Cant wait for March :uh..:

That was the ultimate cliffhanger

quoted for ULTIMATE TRUTH. :TdT: Well, it proves that Fate/Zero wasn't planned as two one-cours. If the studio uses this hiatus to ensure the animation stays as awesome... I'll bear with it. :tea:

The episode was really amusing, though. I like the scene between Rider and Waver (LOL, just realizing that the guy's name could be mistaken for a servant class :XD: ), and even our wacky maniac duo appears interesting here. Refreshing to know that Uryuu does believe in God... although
confusing God and Stephen King... :...:

And at the end, Caster
decides to go Godzilla on the city as a challenge to the "entertainer God"

And we're getting this all for Christmas? :desksweat:

Well, it's been a worthy ride overall. And we've heard a lot of music that's already Kajiura classics. :touched: 2011 is indeed THE year for Yuki. :sparkleguy: :sohappy:

I still need to watch the last two episodes, but I'll briefly post my thoughts about the series and the OST (based on this first half):

Animation - very good, with some very odd moments (especially episode 11)
Story - I didn't like the pacing in this at all. Maybe the problem is the novel itself, but they could have tried to work on that. The bad thing is that the fans would whine till the end of the world.
Characters - Rider. Is there anyone else in this series?
OST - Hum...some very nice tunes, other ones ok. I expected more from the actual use of some of them. I wish Kajiura would try to make different types of songs for moments with heavy atmosphere, though.

All in all, 8. Or maybe 7, I don't know.

I also think that it's new, and the summon theme at the end sounds a bit different..? May be a variation or a new part of the song..? :confu:

Funny thing, these days I ended up in a discussion about F/Z's soundtrack and I mentioned that I prefer it over Kajiura's latest work (namely Madoka). It was kinda funny how people were outraged by this lol

^Why... :uh..: ...I think that Madoka's OST is not that outstanding..(but the bad OST management made Sis Puella Magica so (arguably) famous... :blood: .) Fate Zero's OST sounds more promising for sure..., but it may be a bit too classic-like and some people feel that it isn't interesting..:confu:. Madoka may have some very good tracks, but IMO, many tracks are a bit too boring... I think F/Z is better in average...

Oh my. Madoka OST was good for me, but not as good as Fate/Zero. Maybe those were Madoka fanatics. :blood:

^I agree.

Also just watched 13. I actually like Waver a little more now that he's actually doing something. heh I think that piano one was new, and I liked it. I'm hoping I can get the soundtrack... March feels like it's so far away, and so does April for more of the show and new music.

Yes.3 to 4 months. :uh..: Maybe Yuki herself was influenced by Fate/Zero's
aura, that's why she got made epic OSTs this time.

^ or she was influenced by Gen Urobuchi (it was mentioned they kinda worked together on the music). :psst:

I must say Madoka OST appeals to me more with its Celtic-flavoured bits, winning Eri Itoh tracks, a new Fion track, stunning operatic pieces, a very nice use of guitar in some tracks and percussion in others and being more eclectic overall. I suppose some people may not deem it too good due to a number of pure background pieces and the fact that they're already bored with traditional violin/flute/choir schemes present in other tracks. :ayashii: But I won't accept overuse of Sis Puella Magica for a reason - sorry, but IMHO blaming the composer for how her music is used in the show is ridiculous. :desksweat:

Fate/Zero, on the other hand, is more focused on heroic theme and is pretty much a Shin Hokuto no Ken successor. It has its share of background music, but it doesn't lack variety either (Berserker theme, upbeat piano track, Iliya theme, Caster theme, Assassin assault track and both Rider themes). And the epics of this OST are, well... EPIC. Yuki's always done an amazing job with monumental operatics, but this year, things like Surgam Identidem, Nux Walpurgis, Symposium Magarum, The Outbreak, Hero Summoning and Rider's Noble Phantasm themes are probably among the MOST monumental pieces in her career. :nosebleed:
So while my preference shifts towards Madoka and RHH2, Fate/Zero is hardly inferior to them. Three great OSTs in the course of the year - that's a serious success. :sohappy:
And if people shy away from Fat/Zero OSTjust because it's orchestral for the most part... Sheesh, it's their problem with missing out on so much. :waa:

I don't blame Kajiura for the overuse of the song. I blame her for the song being the same thing over and over again.
I think they are having a hard time with the "SFX" tracks (and to be honest, I'm the same boat). I just find strange that they claim that Madoka's OST is amazing while F/Z's has only one or two noteworthy songs...I mean, in a sense, both works don't differ that much.
