Don't forget that Madoka OST is available for appreciation already, without talks and explosions and stuff muting it. Let's wait and see how people's judgment may change around March. :sparkleguy: :ayashii:

As to Sis Puella Magica's repetitiveness... It's typical for a lot of soundtrack songs, Yuki's included, but the frequent insertion of this song likely bored people out (then again, I wish Contractor was used in PH at least HALF as many times :wai: ). Even narrowed to Eri/Yuki collabs... Optimistic is just as repetitive, and I don't hear people complaining about it. Maybe because I also struggle to remember if it was actually used at least once or twice. :uh..: no, minna-san, speak what you will of Madoka's music direction, but for me it will always be infinitely better than Tsubasa Chronicle 2nd... It failed to put its OST to good use in so many cases. :blood:

Blood-C? Huh, I didn't even pay attention to that show, despite CLAMP designs. I just can't muster enough interest to this franchise in whole. But I did happen to grab the OST from the local network, so I'll check it out. :ayashii:

*googles Naoki Satou* hmm, can't say I've heard his works before. OK, that'll be a start.

EDIT: wait, what have I just replied to? :confu: a ghost post? :omg:

I will narrow down my complain about Sis Puella Magica: not only it is the same thing for about 2 minutes, the latter sections are boring for me. I love the first 40 seconds, but everything after it fails to impress me and ends up irritating me. Especially that flute solo. So, not only the song is repetitive, it plays everywhere for no reason, but its repetition does not appeal to me.

I personally didn't like Blood-C's OST. Well, was there anything I liked in it?
(and now, just as Nick, I replied to a ghost post lol).

b-but it's so delicious desu~

Maybe I just love over the top evil BGMs like this more than I should...

^ At the risk of sounding a little strange, that reminds me of the OST for a few Nancy Drew PC games... :ayashii:

Is this the return of Kawaii Grunty chan~?

Oooh that's nice. I'm going to check it out. :stars:

Urobuchi (it was mentioned they kinda worked together on the music). :psst:

I agree about Sis Puella Magica's repetitiveness but I still love it, it's one of my favorite tracks from Madoka.

UrobuchiXKajiura

No amount of :psst: 's could be enough to accompany such a tandem. :ohoho:
But Urobuchi seems more and more like a Yuki fan to me. Didn't he suggest her for Madoka OST as well?

I'm not alone! I'm not a weirdo! :touched: :XD: :sohappy:

Oh come on now Nick, lots of people love Sis Puella Magica. Just because some people in this forum have expressed their dislike for the song it doesn't mean that the song is universally hated.

The song is good, but I'm tired of it. I loved it in the second episode.

Not only you, IIRC Grunty was the first to mention it, and in quite a positive tone. It's sadly amazing how the overuse of a great song cqn turn people against it. :leaf: While it didn't bother me personally, sometimes I want the song to have been used half as often, just for this reason.
Then again, standing alone, it's a touching requiem to all magical girls. I don't remember who noted it in the PMMM thread, but I'll second it: the song's MOST fitting use happens in ep 11 where the system's roots and history are exposed.

And in the case of Fate/Zero, what could be such a panoramic theme for the cruel nature of the war? Hero Summoning, maybe? It's frequent enough to be considered the main theme (instead of the trailer theme we heard once or twice in 13 episodes :desksweat: although Pandora Hearts' titular theme received pretty much the same treatment way back when :ohoho: ), and while not without a glorious aura itself, it's reprised in a number of conspicuously more tragic- and pensive-sounding tracks...

^Well, you can't count me in this "the overuse of a great song", simply because I don't even think the song is great, regardless of how badly it was used.

Hmm...for me, Sis Puella Magica is a kind of a very promising song when it's heard for the first time in Ep. 2. But when the full version was released, it's the same as Kalafina's Destination Unknown incident, the song's structure is too repetitive and this drawback+the overuse in the anime made many fans disappointed in this song... :uh..: (It's even worse than Destination Unknown's case...you can blame it on too high expectation of fans as well..:XD:.)

^ Are there a lot of people who dislike D.U. because of its repeating structure? I personally like it very much, and I haven't seen many complaints about it, although I don't look at many Kala comments outside of here on CPM... :confu:

I personally love it. Can't say it's repetitive, but maybe people are bothered with double verses? My friend had the same complaint about Stone Cold. :XD:

Then maybe my luck is not expecting anything above what I heard, too. :XD: Before the full version was released, we heard it FULLY throughout the show, not to mention the full instrumental in ep 7 (btw, WHY isn't it in the OSTs, Sony? I'd appreciate it infinitely more than Connect DDR Mix :knife: :knife: :knife: ). I liked the song and I was pretty sure I was hearing it all, so I didn't expect anything but good quality from the CD.

For me it's repetitive because the song is the same 40 first seconds all over. Now this is personal, but in a sense I'm getting tired of "Kajiura's flute", so the solo present in the song made things worse for me lol
Again, this is personal, but I tend to like songs that change throughout their course better than songs that are just an eternal loop. Of course, I know that, in soundtracks that does not happen all the time and I also love songs that do not change that much. But for me Sis Puella Magica always felt like it was too dragging, never becoming anything out of ordinay.
