Fate/Zero

Out of place because the song does not match the "feeling" of the anime. It is a generic anisong that could be very well used for a simple action tv series, but that's not actually the case with F/Z. The tense and melancholy atmosphere has nothing to do with that song. Maybe they will change the song when things get even tougher than they are right now.
I personally have no qualms with an epic song badly used IN a OP or ED. After all, that is not something very important for the series. I do have many issues with an OST that is badly used.
I think Kalafina (or rather, Kajiura) could have pulled out an OP. I think she would have thought of something that blends well with the series, rather than coming up with a generic song that has nothing to do with nothing there.
(after all, this is not Madoka, in which they wanted to troll the public with a cutesy song. They won't fool anyone with F/Z)

Would you like to suggest a song that you think would fit more? I am really curious.

From Kalafina, I think something "like" Red Moon could be an option (although I always think of Tsukihime whenever I listen to it).

I will disagree, but well, Red moon is my favorite Kalafina song. :sohappy:

Why do you disagree?

(not that you can't, just that now I'm the curious one XD)

It's okay. It's just that I'm too used to the lively and fast-paced opening themes of modern anime that I can't think of a way that they could do it well with Red moon or something similar.
And Red moon is too epic IMO.

Well, somehow I knew that was the point (about being accostumated only with "common" OPs). While I do not necessarily dislike them, I think for F/Z in specific it was a bad choice. It "kills" the mood, and there are some OPs that are not necessarily only fast-paced (Chikyuugi from Saint Seiya comes to my mind now). Persona 4 The Animation comes to my mind as well, since they decided to create a new song for the animated version which resembles the OST from the game, and the original songs are very "exotic". Hence, they came up with this:

Which, to newcomers, is a little bit bzarre and not really the type of song one would expect. But, it also show the singularity of the show, in a sense.

And Red Moon is too epic IMO

Great reason to make it an OP song XD

But well, the OP is the least of my worries. I'll just skip anyway :ohoho:

Fate/Zero is terrible and I hate it.

.............Just kidding. I've come across some really nice soundtrack songs from it, but I've never watched it. Is it good?

Nice song. It does fall into the kind of songs I'd expect as an opening theme. I really like it though.

Now that I think about it a little more, and knowing a bit about Fate's themes, something like Lilium would probably fit well.

But well, the OP is the least of my worries. I'll just skip anyway
True dat. I'll probably be doing the same. And the only opening I've never once skipped was this one anyway. (The cuteness! *_*)

Quite frankly, I didn't find the OP to be that cutesy...I can't quite remember it (only heard it once), but I recall that it was in a minor key, which I normally associate with drama. Even thought the song was vaguely forgettable and not particularly original, I didn't think it had a bouncy, major-key 'happy' sound to it.

Just me :V:

I'm definitely going to keep watching Fate/Zero, though, if I have the time. I actually enjoyed it, although I was a tad confused sometimes!

But ninetales, nobody said the song was cutesy. stormypanda said that another song she likes is cute XD
And if you're confused, I can try to help you XD

If you're talking about Kalafina for the show, I think they could put Kotonoha nicely into the show, even if the lyrics (not sure if they do or not) match the show at all, it gives off the same atmosphere... but I have yet to hear the op and ed clearly and hope to watch the rest of the first episode tonight. :dote:

@KP-X: Ah, I was skim-reading again, sorry! I noticed the word in one of your posts and for some reason didn't notice "Madoka" right before it :imdead:

As for confusion, I think I'm doing okay with the plot right now...if I have any questions, I'll let you know :innocent:

So saw the whole thing finally. I love the soundtrack so far, especially the song that played during Excalibur's reveal, while Iri was talking about it. And the summoning song of course. That one was awesome! The vocals in that was amazing. (I want to know the title so I can say what song it was hehe) Ooo I can't wait for this soundtrack to be released. Hopefully by itself and not with the dvd.

About the OP (or ending in this case). I didn't think it was that bad. I thought she didn't sing as well as she did in Angel Beats! (liked the songs in that show) but it's a catchy song, and I like the instrumentals (although that guitar part through me off a little in the beginning). I will have to listen to the ending soon. :dote: So far I'm liking the show as well. Looking forward to this Saturday!

Finally watched the first episode. I can't say i loved it. Below is my personal opinion on the anime.
I still can't shallow the fact Saber is King Arthrur(a man) and the rest of historic, etc casualties.
Also,the italian priest,couldn't have had a wife,since he wouldn't be a priest then.
I totally disliked seeing them torturing Sakura again in the worst manner they could find, even though in a different way. I hated Sakura's mother,Aoi :blood: She gave up her little daughter to those crazy bastards without giving a fight. And she continues her life normally, just like that. What the ..?Where did you see mothers like that? I just hate weak characters like that.
And not to mention Kariya almost-or totally- gave his life to save (if there is anything left to save) Sakura, like he cared about her more than her mother. And he was like ''let's take Aoi you and Rin and go somewhere to have fun.'' Hello? You are a great person but i think she already said she knew what she would be through by marrying that man.She totally looked like she wanted to stay in this family so far.
Also, will there be a lack of strong female characters-masters as in Fate/Stay night?
Sure,i might be biased because i didn't think Fate/Stay night was a masterpiece either.
But overall the show doesn't look bad so far. There are just some flaws for my personal taste. And overall the idea is good.I will keep watching it because i am kinda sure that most other airing shows won't be any better ,as we know of lately :uh..:

The OST sounded nice, although i wasn't impressed. It usually takes me sometime to have an opinion on how istrumentals are used on scenes,so i'll have to watch more :PThe OP was also well chosen for those animation scenes they used.

Ok... Great animation as expected and great music as expected. The hero summoning theme is already going into the Yuki classics list, IMHO its epicness rivals (if not BEATS :fwa: ) that of Surgam Identidem. :nosebleed:
Can't say a lot about the plot so far since it was an expository episode. But I was never interested in Fate franchise, and up until now I wasn't sure whether I would be following this ongoing too closely, even with its staff taken into account. The episode did a good job introducing me to the main concepts and now I have no second thoughts left about waiting for every coming episode. This promises to be a worthwhile show at the very least. :ayashii: :ayashii: :ayashii:

The only moment I went slightly WTF at was when
Waver's grandma fell to the floor. :confu:

Also, the scene where we first saw Sakura - I couldn't help thinking, "Ah, NOW good day to you, Urobuchi-san" :omg: :white: :ohoho: That's the writer I first experienced in Saya no Uta, aw'right. :plot: :plot: :plot:

The OP is slowly growing on me, although I find it a bit inferior to GDM songs.

He's one of those lovely characters that I'd like to push off a cliff :knife:

He reminds me so overwhelmingly of a character from American TV that I can't help but wonder if he was based on one...

:XD: :XD: :XD:

I would add Aoi on that

Nitpicking maybe, but that part is lifted straight from Fate/stay night where the writer is Kinoko Nasu, not Urobuchi.

^ point taken. :ayashii: well, as far as I can judge by KnK, Nasu isn't above writing downright dark stuff either. :ohoho:

Personally, I was having slight disturbing thoughts of whether something of Waver's character may have lingered on Urobuchi's mind when he was working on Sayaka... :white:
I find it hard to be expecting a good outcome for this guy. :uh..:
Of course, seeing as it's a prequel, this time we'll likely see a good deal of characters survivng, so one can't say for sure (unless this one is an informed Fate fan). :XD:
