Fate/Zero

LiSA+ShoWatanabe wannabe Nana Mizuki

A good comparison. :XD:

The ending was not unlike FJ songs, and the whole deal sounds like a mix between Nana Mizuki and GDM. As a result, a nice song by my standards, but significantly LESS than I expected. :waa: Still may end up in my playlist, though. :tea:

Needless to say, I'd prefer a Kalafina OP anytime. :plot: Even if Yuki was too busy for another Kalafina song, they could have always asked her permission to use Destination Unknown. Something tells me it'd have adorned the show a lot more.

EDIT: what channel is Fate/Zero airing on? I have a hope to catch it in live streaming if I'm lucky enough.

Thanks! :sohappy:

Btw, I've listened to the full Memoria as well.
Sorry to those who think otherwise... But IMHO Oath Sign is better in comparison. Memoria just fails to appeal to me. :uh..:

^TBH I can't say I like neither, but oath sign has LiSa's extremely sharp and "helium gas" vocals, which makes me dislike the song quite a bit. Memoria...Aoi seems to be shouting but her voice doesn't bother me in the same level as LiSa's does.
I personally think both songs were poor choices for this show, and both do not seem to fit the whole atmosphere it gives. Here's someone cheering for better songs in the "next season" (that is, IF they decide to change the songs).

Listened to both. I can see Memoria work with the right kind of minimalistic animation many ending themes have. oath sign is definitely Elements Garden-esque, especially with that violin(?) in the chorus. (Elements Garden is the group that composes many of Nana Mizuki's and other artists' songs.) However, I find LiSA's voice is too sharp and distracting. A smoother voice, like Nana's, would be a better fit. Maybe I'm biased because I didn't like LiSA in GDM, but well...

Anyway, out of the two, oath sign is the one that has more potential to grow on me eventually, as far as I can tell from a first listen. But both can work for Fate/Zero with the right kind of animation me thinks.

It took me a very long time to figure out that the NicoNico streaming will begin tomorrow, around 11AM :ohoho:

Found Memoria on Youtube. It's not that bad...I like the steady beat under the lines, and the bg high piano/low guitar combo. Her voice is okay, reminds me a little of the singer for Unlimits. (Actually, it'd be interesting to hear Kala perform this, especially Hikaru...) The key change for the chorus does basically nothing, unfortunately. Actually, I like most of the lines much better than I do the choruses. Don't like the guitar solo, though...it's surprisingly boring :uh..:

I can't really hear Oath Sign under all that talking, so I'm going to save it for when I see the opening. Coincidentally, I'm getting completely sick of hearing "TOU, anata ga watashi no master ka?" :XD:

Eri Ito again... :bye:
(and the PV2 music is actually by Yuki!)

NOW on Nico!

As long as there are no other Jubilee/Mysterious-esque songs, I'll be okay with it myself. :leaf:

Apparently flutes/Eri are Kajiura-sensei's focus right now :uh..:

I'm going to watch it this evening! Hoping for Koichi-san, as usual. :dote:

So the episode had only one really interesting music for me, and that is the music of Servants calling. Its Yuri Kasahara + Tokyo Konsei
(not Eri Itou like Kazado said) and the strings part in the PV2 was taken from its intro. Loving it. :nosebleed:

The rest of its music include
a strings driven track at the beginning, which was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Also 2 flute background musics and alot of SFX tracks (just as expected)
The animation was really well done and I cant wait for more!! :dote: :dote: :sohappy:

Hum, I'm downloading it with subs (Spanish subs), so I'll edit this post after I've seen it.

Edit: Gosh, my internet is really TROLLING me, the download rate is laughable. But I managed to watch the OP via youtube and, wow, it is so generic I really laughed XD

Oh George...I was waiting to watch it! :XD:

Well, now I know what to expect :ayashii:

My god... I was talking about the first BGM, the main theme (also first PV). It has vocals by Eri Ito. And it seems another "Sis Puella Magica!" because they will be repeating it. And I liked this one, overall at the end with the overview of the castle.
My opinion for the two first episodes (musically) is: it seems that Kajiura cotinues composing for Madoka. Eri, EpicYuriKonsei, darkboring musics, darkinteresting musics. I was hoping something more Karanokyoukaish -PV1 is-. And...

^ wut?! And I was wishing for Hanae Tomaru, too.... :blood:
+1.
(or Yuriko Kaida+Kalafina).

But this is only the beginning. And the good plots are yet to come. :V:

^ that Yuriko was in PV 1, in PV 2 was only a strings part which was the intro of the vocal music in the end in this episode.

@ Kazado. Oh I didnt noticed you right then its Eri in that track.

I would also want some difference in vocals but there are 24 more episodes, so I dont think she will stick to Eri, Yuri and Konsei for the whole anime. She can easily put her whole usual vocals in (including Hanae Yuriko and Kalafina), and who knows, maybe KAORI too :stars: after all there will be so many battles in this :XD:

Finally watched it. It was OK, didn't love it or hate it. I definitely hope it picks up in the next episode since this prologue was SERIOUSLY SLOW.

As for Kajiura I think she delivered a very competent score. I mean, if it was Madoka then we'd get an annoyingly loud in-yo-face Sis puella magica! during the scene with the old Kotomine, Tohsaka walking around the young Kotomine. Thankfully it did not happen. tl/dr I disagree with Kazado on this, FROM THIS EPISODE I don't think this is a continuation of Madoka OST. :)

I personally prefer the PV1 theme vocals to Eri Ito's version but I'll wait for them to play more. The Kasahara BGM was great IMHO.
