Chiaki Ishikawa

Greetings, thought I'd post here that I've really enjoyed Chiaki Ishikawa's singing on Animelo Summer Live videos, so last year I went to Japan and attended the Animelo Summer Live 2011 - Rainbow concerts.

I was really impressed with Kalafina and Chiaki Ishikawa's performances, and was able to meet Chiaki-san after the concert. She was a wonderful person to meet (even though I couldn't speak any Japanese).

How many of you have been able to see Chiaki-san in concert?

^ Wow, I'm kinda jealous! I've never been able to see Chiaki live, unfortunately, but I'm hoping to someday.

Nice to meet you, by the way~! :sparkleguy:

Thanks, I hope that Chiaki-san can visit Australia for a performance or few someday.

Who else believes that Kakashi is way overrated? He is always almost getting killed and ends up being saved by someone. His stamina gets drained up because of his Sharingan. Do you believe Kakashi is way overrated??

I recently purchased Chiaki Ishikawa's "Own Write" DVD.

As neither the English or Japanese descriptions on CD Japan fully cover it, I'll list the contents:

own write #1 (short film)
video clip of First Pain (Element Hunters OP)
own write #2 (short film)
video clip of Blue Velvet
own write #3 (short film)
video clip of Uninstall
video clip of Prototype

Quite an enjoyable little video.

^ Oh, I didn't know Blue Velvet had a PV! That's one of my favorite songs from her :shy:

What's the video like? :ayashii:

OK, the videography is well done. There are three "short films" with some narration by Chiaki-san and three video clips, not counting the special features.

It starts with Chiaki walking up a track and into a house that looks very old on the outside but is very well decorated on the inside and her speaking, then at about the 4:30 the clip of "First Pain" plays (mainly a close-up of the left side of Chiaki-san's face).

Shortly before the 10 minute mark, the second short film starts with Chiaki-san in the kitchen of the house and using the pots and pans and table as percussion instruments, then making a cup of tea and writing the words "Own Write" on the top of a sheet of music manuscript paper.

At around the 14:30 mark, the scene shifts to outdoors as depicted on the DVD cover for the song "Blue Velvet".

At the 20 minute mark, the scene returns to the house with Chiaki-san wandering around it.

Then at the 26 minute mark the song "Shylpeed" starts, with views of plants, sky, and a church building, but Chiaki-san doesn't appear.

After the credits, which indicates that the previous scenes were shot in Ireland, the menu appears and under "Special Features" one can select the videos of "Uninstall" and "Prototype", which are the same as what you'll find on Youtube.

You can find live performances of "First Pain", "Uninstall" and "Prototype" on the 2009 day 1 and 2008 day 2 Animelo Summer Live videos, but the "Own Write" DVD is a more contemplative way to enjoy these songs plus the short films and the songs "Blue Velvet" and "Shylpeed".

^ I haven't had a chance to listen to that one yet, but I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for the video summary, too!

And, since we have another Chiaki fan here now, I thought I'd make a wallpaper to commemorate it~ :plot:

^ Thanks for the link! :dote:

It sounds nice...the arrangement is good as usual. And I like the wordless chorus in the beginning~

^ I think it just says something like "And Chiaki Ishikawa, who continues to construct original worlds, is participating." But I have no idea what that means... :uh..:

:omg: :omg: :omg: I'm so jealous!!!

I want to see her in concert one day. If I do, I want to take a crash course in Japanese before I go so I can try to impress her with my broken Japanese.

It truly was amazing being the only person who didn't speak Japanese at Animelo Summer Live 2011 yet having such a wonderful experience.
