Oky just started to listen to Akiko Shikata and now...
addicted... :shy:

My friend who also appreciates Kajiura sama's music told me that Akiko Shikata is the ultimate copycat of Kajiura's music....
But after listening to her songs...i beg to differ

i actually feel that her music is much more complex than Kajiura's music.
Kajiura's music feels unique but yet somewhat tilted towards anime-ish music

But Akiko's music is really ethnic, all the chords and suspended notes, dissonant tones...oh gosh! *so happy :sohappy: *

Currently addicted to Umineko no Naku Koro ni- rengoku and Haruka Naru Tabiji ~~~~

I remember there was the member on the forum who claimed Shikata was a big Kajiura copycat :ohoho: I can never agree with this statemtnt. They are very very different.

The official website for the Tales of Symphonia the Animation project has revealed that Akiko Shikata will sing the ending theme and the "grand ending theme" for the third and final volume of The United World Episode series.

The ending theme song is titled "Hikari Kudaru Basho de ~Promesse~" (At the Place Where the Light Decends ~Promesse~) and the grand ending theme is titled "Kaze wa Haruka na Ashita wo Shiru" (The Wind Knows the Distant Tomorrow). Shikata sang the ending themes for the two previous United World episodes, and the ending theme song for the Tethe'alla episodes.

:dote: anybody got news of her latest project ??
the last work of her that i know is the story album [kaliope] from early last year..
The Ar Tonelico series will release a trilogy soundtrack album..
and as a bonus song, they will have 3 new song recorded by elected Reyvatails.. so based on the character, not singer.. if akiko's character not elected, then she won't record any.. well, i doubt that.. but who knows..

01. Nice. I surprisingly really like her voice in this song~
02. I can't stand the first 20 secs. The rest is really nice~

04. Love.but tbh I love the male chorus more than her solo parts :XD:
05. Somewhat like a BGM in Princess Tutu.
06. Love. Love. I can't say which one I love more, no.04 or this one.
07. Uplifting, but for me her voice doesn't blend well with the choir in some parts.

The 3 new songs are from Playbuttons (not CDs!) included in the Ar tonelico CD-BOX that was released 2 weeks ago. It also contains all the hymmnos concerts (7xCD), a DVD and Ciel no surge preview soundtrack.

Ar tonelico, as a game series, is done AFAIK. Ciel no surge is where its at now. OST1 and Concert1 coming on Feb 27.

AFAIK They are not really concerts, that's how the Ar Tonelico soundtracks are titled like, just like "Future Soundscape" for the Tsubasa ones :XD:
