Interesting. I found the original studio version superior (despite hearing the studio live first).

Also about where every life is beautiful (which is probably my favorite of the satoyama disc): "kyrie eleison" in a nature documentary - only in Kajiura world.

wakana's version is good enough...but hear her singing alone.....i prefer not to do that..

sorry for wakana's fans.. :spotlight:

Well, I won't comment on the tracks I've already heard and loved (Rainbow MT, Through the Open Door, Egotism, Light of the Night, Saya... what's more to say about them? :dote: ). The whole thing is marvelous; but from what I've listened to so far, the special credit goes to Camomile Tea and First Love - the Yuki Kajiura Classics for me.
For the first CD, it's a bit of a pity that KOR section did not include Intertwining Feelings, one of the best melodies in the album. Oh well...

actually the whole CD3 is a win.. :nosebleed:

(Although the "all beings" sounded like an OST track from TRC & PH :XD:)

I think I can be classified as Wakana's fan.., but every time I listened to this version of Voyager..Yuriko's chorus would pop-up in my head and I was just like..."Oh..there is no Yuriko's voice here... :omg: "..lol. Some music instrument parts are also replaced by human chorus in the live version. That's why I feel like the studio version is lack of something...even it's a very good song.. :XD:. By the way, for the music instrument part, it's more perfect than the live version one.

If you dont like voyagers, because Wakana sings alone , you will probably feel the same about Hikari no Yukue, Wakana's very first song althugh from bridge and then there is a tokyo konsei,in the rsdt of the song she sings alone :ayashii:

But we don't have Hikari no Yukue Fiction Junction Live Version to compare.. :XD:..so..we can't tell that which one would be more favourable. That song is my first impression with Wakana... :shy: (even it wasn't the first Wakana's song that I listened to.., it's the first time that I know that it's her voice.)

Moreover,..the live version of voyager give a bit different feeling. It sounds more energetic and lively...(I think it's a kind of live version magic..XD..the magic that is opposite to studio magic..lol.)

What? The live studio version sounds heavier. Definitely not more energetic or lively.

I think, these are both the ways to put it. :ayashii:
I've listened to most of the tracks. Tears Fall in My Heart... :TdT: awesome, although I wish it was at least as long as the main instrumental version of this theme.
Satoyama isn't as epic as RHH (makes sense, since a landscape-oriented documentary can't possibly "over-epicize" a historical one), but the melodies and arrangements... :nosebleed:
Where Every Life Is Beautiful is, btw, yet another song that IMHO has an unmistakably Oldfield-ish feel to it (on par with "Light of the Night" and "Sit Beside Me"). :ayashii: and the Gregorian chants sound coooler than cool. :shy:
There are also Earth Song and Fairyland, and Satoyama main theme - all three instantly propelling themselves into Kajiura Classics category - definitely not without the contribution of Hanae Tomaru's voice. :dote:
I've yet to check the last few songs. :stars:

Some of the songs in the CD are a bit boring, IMO. Some of them are wonderful, but not all of them.

Hey Nick, Earth song was sung by wakana alone (i am not 100% sure thought) the Wakana song that had Hane chorus was fairyland.

:V: i'm agree with you...

What....

How did I miss that there's been another juwel from her???

I'm just trying to find a way to listen to it, before that will be my next cdjapan order....

I think I'll have to save a lil bit more money for this.....

So I will just ask anyone reading this post, before I'll go checking my bank balance....

Is it good ????

It depends. If you like pre 2000 Yuki music you will like the first disc and half of the 2nd, if you like her most recent one (eg Achilles to Kame, and maybe RHH too you will like the other half of the 2nd and the third - contain the music form the 15th year old volunteer drama, and the music from Sekai Satoyama Kyoku, more nifo, tracklist http://canta-per-me.net/discography/the ... oundtrack/

I personally found it really good :dote:

Like George said, it depends on what you like in Yuki's music. :XD: Although her trademark style is still percievable throught the whole compilation. It's a definite treasure for collectors (while some OSTs like Kimagure or Boogiepop are available in the Internet, you'd most likely have one hell of a time trying to find respective licenced CDs), and contains many highlights not to be missed. First Love, Voyagers, Rainbow Main Theme, Tears Fall in My Heart are among them, and I'd personally recommend no less than three quarters of both Boogiepop and Satoyama OSTs, although it will be already up to you to like some tracks or not. :tea: If you have money and possibility to get this album, I advise not to think twice. It's definitely a worthwhile item overall. :sparkleguy:

Was it just me, or did KOKIA sound terrible in both her songs? I couldn't hear her voice very well, but it sounded like she was off-key a lot... :uh..:

Or is that how she always sings?? :confu:

^ You dont need to judge her that hard, remember that it was before her debut and maybe she hadnt finished her vocal studies yet. Also, the she was quite younger (1998) and the recording is quite old too (aka old equipment).
