I'm loving it so far. The songs I most enjoy are: 'Do You Believe in Dreams?' 途方に暮れて, and Theme. Lavion is also nice and so is Digital Flower. I will have a full review when I am done listening to it, or maybe after I listened to it again. heh

Well, not like I expected the hype the size of Gackt.
The release is clearly oriented at Yuki Kajiura fans - who, alas, don't seem to be the majority of Japan's population. And while many others don't know what they miss out on - one could hardly blame EVERYONE for never caring to watch a geographical programme just to discover the music there.

Coz there are so many songs..I think I'll talk about the songs that I impressed only.
Camomile Tea: I like the violin part.. It gives a feel of relaxation and..a little sense of jazz-like... Made me need a cup of tea...lol.
Kureyuku Hibi: The main melody reminds me a Chinese or Japanese traditional song...(I think it's a Chinese one...) Short, simple, but beautiful..^ ^. With some nostalgic feeling... I think I like this song..^ ^.
you are my home: I prefer this version to the previous one..(Ag. version = acoustic guitar version?) I don't know why it has a feeling of the old-style song in my country in 60-70 years ago...lol. (and it's only one genre of music in my country that I love to listen..= =.) So much of nostalgic feeling..^ ^. (or it's only me who feel that it has that sense..???) The main instrument voice (flute..? I think it's a kind of woodwind.) is not that good for me.., even the melody is beautiful.
Yuunagi no Machi: Beautiful combination of piano&violin..even it's so short, but I think this is one of a good song.
first love: The main instrument as in "you are my home" still sounds not good enough for me, but I like many percussion sounds in the background. (I think one of them is triangle...?)
Doko ni iru no…: It has a little mysterious and dark sense that we usually looks for in Yuki's works..lol. That's why I like it...lol. Also like a percussion sounds in the song.
Madobe kara (KYOSUKE No.1): I like this one..^ ^. It's similar to the opening theme, but I prefer the music arrangement in this song.
Lavion: I love the background music..that sounds like..a glittering light..how can I explain it...lol.
Theme: (I wonder that it's a theme for what..? Eatman..?) But I like this kind of music..with some of mysterious&oriental sense.
Cold Fire: Another nice song.. have a style of..digital song..?..it's what I find so often in Yuki's .hack OSTs.
Light Of The Night: Beautiful song..^ ^. I don't know what is the main instrument..sounds like accordian..? (just guess...= =.)
Digital Flower: I love it...>____<. Sweet&fantasy-like&a bit mysterious.. Sounds like some untouchable&unreal beautifulness.

Tsuki Main Theme: I like this song..^ ^. Its melody is sweet and chill.., and twinkling in my ear like a starry night...

Tsuki Main Theme Ag. ver.: Even I prefer the original version, this version is also cool, and give more sad&lonely sense.
Tsuki wa yasashiku: I love this one..^ ^. It gives me a fantasy-like and romantic sense. There is a bit sorrow feeling that I love..lol.

After listening to the new stuff...
東京兄弟 & 月 are nice but didn't really grab my attention, while everything from 15歳の志願兵 is amazing and consistently well composed.
世界里山紀行 definitely has the best tracks, and each piece evokes a different mood very well. bamboo forest #2, a tiny stream, voice of the forest, by the fireplace, and fairyland are probably my favorite tracks with the middle section of fairyland being the highlight of the entire album.

The Land of Water is absolutely beautiful, I just can't stop listening to it. Especially when Wakana sings it so angelic. Bamboo Forest, Forget me not, Lost home, fairyland and winter goes by are the one I like so far. I still need to listen to the rest.

Okay, here is my review after two days of listening to it nonstop. heh My favorites that I seem to listen to over and over are: fairyland (my favorite on the collection), Do You Believe in Dreams?, Theme, Lavion, Digital Flower, 途方に暮れて, Camomile Tea, Ruria, earth song, voyagers, all beings, and the mercy of nature (which reminded me of sand dream). I love how different Do You Believe in Dreams? and Theme sound, they are unlike Kajiura in some ways to me anyways. I love the guitar part in Do You Believe in Dreams? it makes me want to see the scenes in the anime that it's used in. Ruria is really pretty, and so is earth song, which sounds kind of like something enya would sing. fairyland is just beautiful and mesmorizes me everytime I listen to it, I could have it on loop and never get tired of it. 途方に暮れてsounds different as well, almost like a Castlevania song. I loved most of the Boogiepop songs and the SSK ones. I just saw Boogiepop and Others a few days ago so I know that I liked the music, and it had the songs I liked on it, so I was pleased. While I liked voyagers, I almost like the live version better. daphne and the KOKIA songs were also nice. Ahh! There's too many good things to say about this collection. But I will end my review here. I loved it overall, if you couldn't tell.

forget-me-not: Sweet&sorrow song...even it's quite simple, it's a beautiful song...^____^.
Saya: Dark&Mysterious&oriental style (that we're looking for.....) lol.
My dear dad: What is the main instrument..??? Sounds like a traditional music instrument of some east asian country..lol.. I love it..^ ^.
Ruria: Another song that I like..
Rainbow Main Theme&Lost Home: I've listened to these two songs from Rainbow already..it's so sweet and nice... Love both of them..(how can I guess at that time that the vocal is Kokia..!?!)

15sai no Shiganhei main theme #2: Sounds so classic..lol. But it isn't dull or boring...It's beautiful and emotional...
Seishun no Hitotoki: Beautiful&moving song...the violin voice is so cool...>//////<.
Jidai no Ronchou: It really sounds like a song from Hollywood's wars movie..., but it's still cool.
Sasayaka na Yume: Always fell in love with emotional violin voice... Beautiful song..full of sorrow&hope..(in the same song..lol.)
Seigi wo kataru: Give a feeling of some approaching terror... Yuki is so cool for this kind of music!!
Senjou nite: A song of sorrow..? Yuki always works well for this kind of song..lol.. The piano is so cool..>____<.
Mienai Mirai he: Again..love this one, too...^ ^.
Oya to Ko no Kunou: 3 songs with similar feeling in a row... but I love them all...
Munen: Still in the same tone.., just the varied of melody and instruments.
Fusakekki to iu Ketsudan: This one has a feeling of..hope..? Sounds so hollywood-like, but I love it.
Seishun no Owari: The same feeling is still in this track..a hope among the sorrow..?
Kotoba ni dekinai Kokoro: A bit change of the tone..this one is more sweet.. not so sad..
Kazoku no Jouai: Beautiful...and nostalgic... Love this one
Tomo to no Wakare: A sweet&warm song..should be the good bgm for the ending..
tears fall in my heart: Oh..male vocal..!?! A kind of opera singing...lol... It's amazing..!!!
Even there are nothings prominent, as a movie OST, I prefer this one to Achilles..:p.
satoyama main theme short ver.: The first question in my head when I listened to this song is...why it hasn't been rekeased until now...!?! It's so cool...!!! The chorus voice, the melody, the choice of instruments, everything is great!! The only one point that I don't like is the use of filter in the vocal. (it still sounds so cool, but I think it would be better if didn't use it.)
let the children play: Cute song..^ ^. I love the way that Yuki choose the instruments to use in this song.. they gave childish&rustic sense...and also lively..^ ^.
all beings: Cute and a bit mysterious kind of voice.. Similar to the previous song, it has sense of...rural area..simple native culture..close to the nature. (Don't know why I think of Tchaiklovski's Nutcracker suites.)
bamboo forest #2: (Where is the bamboo forest #1..? lol.) A calm and beautiful song.. At first, when I saw the word 'bamboo', I guessed that it must be a kind of oriental style song.., that make us think of China or Japanese.., but it isn't.
a tiny stream: It sounds..lonely..? Simple piano melody, but cool...
voice of the forest: The opening is so mysterious and it made me think of Noir OSTs or sth like that..., but the whole song became something like...the music of people who live in the forest or something like that..so dark and mysterious..lol.
where every life is beautiful: Beautiful&relaxing song.., but not dull nor boring...I like it..^ ^. Again..the thing that I don't like is using filter with the vocals.
quiet life: The song of tranquility...so calm and cool... Make me think of water, dew, or something like that..
the mercy of nature: Sweet violin...^ ^. Give a feeling of fresh and lively atmosphere in the forest... I like it..^ ^. Its melody also made I think Saijin no Katae.., but this one is more lively and cool...yes..like a difference of desert and forest..lol.
satoyama main theme piano ver.: This one gives more feeling of sorrow.., why the first version has an air of elegant in its music arrangement.. still prefer the first one, but this one gives a different sense, and I still like it.
earth song: Hanae..>///////<...her sound is sweet and warm.. (while Wakana's gives a colder feeling.) Become one of my favourite..>///////<.
by the fireplace: For me, it gives me calmness more than warmness..imagin that I'm sitting near a fireplace in a cabin in the huge forest..faraway from the chaotic city..lol.
a small light: I love the intro..>//////<. The song is so beautiful..with a slight sense of bitter&sweet..I like this kind of song so much!! lol.
silent place: It's calm&mysterious... and the melody is so beautiful...>_____<...
fairyland: Ah..I like the music in this song so much..>//////<..., the combination of beautiful melody and beautiful voice...ah... The feeling of surreal beautifulness..., like a mysterious wonderland.. ah..I luv it!!!! >////////<. It's really epic!!

bamboo forest: This one give the oriental sense as I expect... It's so beautiful..calm..
peace of mind: It's sweet and calm.., not much sweet, but really give a feel of peace..lol.
the land of water #2: It's like a song from Xenosaga but I can't remember its name..= =... By the way, it's arranged in the way that the song can make us think of a calm, beautiful and a bit mysterious lake.
living in satoyama: Another beautiful song...^ ^. May be a bit plain.., but it's beautiful.
fairyland #2: I love the violin voice..., but "fairyland" is more touching for me...
the land of water: Same melody as #2, but #2 gives more feeling of water. This one is calm and elegant.. I don't like that Yuki used the filter with the vocal. But the song still sounds so cool. I remember that she also used this trick too much in Pandora OST2.
satoyama main theme: Beautiful melody...it's so cool...^ ^. I can't say the difference of my impression between this one and the short version...it's equivalent!! lol.
Ah..I found that Satoyama's OST is in too much different level to compare with the songs in the first 2 CDs... As a documentary OST, I accept that I still prefer Historia, and the reason is I don't like the filter using for human voice..TT...
