Yuki Kajiura LIVE vol.#21 - 60 Songs (July 26 - August 24, 2025)

I wonder if LINO LEIA will stand in the centre (in Keiko's position) or she will swap with Kaori's usual position and Kaori comes to the center, being the tallest.
 
We'll know in 6 months. :P

The way I imagine it going down (and it might be completely wrong), LL will take over some of Kaori's parts (as she was doing in her absence) and Kaori might be filling in for Keiko (and I guess that might involve moving to the middle :p). Assuming, of course, Emiko wasn't invited for that reason.

Indeed we shall.

I was thinking for a minute that the way the photos are arranged might be the way the singers would stand - that would be smart to do if it actually the case - to give a visual preview to the subconscious of fans, which is then reflected in the actual live.

I could imagine cool transitions with a rear-mounted display with the promotional graphic and revealing the singers standing in the same position.

Kaori duetting Keiko's song with her during the KajiFes was a joy to me, because she carried all the [edit:low] notes with nice tone/warmth, without it being breathy. Kaori's low range has strengthened over the years and she can still hit all the high notes she ever sang!

old-fashioned fairy tale was already performed on Vol.# 15.

But I would kill to watch them singing saints (Yuriko and Joelle?) and the long forgotten Gensou Rakuen cut out from Everlasting Songs.

Btw, a medley of the instrumental themes from Kubikiri Cycle would be pretty nice.

Of course I want many more others but these ones have always been in my dreams...


With the current vocalist/musician line-up the soundtrack concerts are surely gonna focus on recent works but I want less SAO/Kimetsu/Fate stuff! They've occupied setlists long enough.

If I were hungry for drama, KAZE NO MACHI HE and SORE HA CHIISANA HIKARI NO YOUNA. Can you imagine? Now that would be pretty Petty. :P
Probably no chance of Kajiura going that hardcore this fast though.

On a more serious note, one part of me thinks this is a perfect opportunity to try new things, but the other knows how YKL setlists usually are... I'm expecting YKL21 will be an adjustment tour, rather than a reinvention of the setlists with lesser or never performed songs. So basically a cut down YKL19KajiFes with some new vocal distribution (and no Kalafina songs whatsoever). vol#14 setlist without Keiko could also be informative for ykl21. Would absolutely love to be wrong.

Soundtrack Special is open waters with all those musicians & a 4person choir. I still think having single performers there is just an excuse for more playback choirs & strings. I kinda feel like I don't particularly like soundtrack specials all that much the way Kajiura does them from vol15 cd release or vol16 HS youtube upload, so I kinda don't even want to guess. If there's a release and it's good, that's great. I expect at least half will be recylced from 15&16 specials, with some extra Heaven's Feel and Kimetsu.
Easy vocal guesses (which could be very wrong) for LL are voyagers, el cazador, paradise regained and Kimetsu medleys. I don't have enough information on Emiko to guess her role in the Soundtrack Special with her.

But I'm just a consumer. I truly hope everyone who actually goes to those lives has fun & is pleased.

Also just a heads-up,
- I'm pretty embarrassed every time I do this because I basically just lurk the forums and nearly never take part in discussions even though cpm has always been a special place for me for half of my life and I'm always grateful to everyone here and hope you won't find me too weird over the years... -

I'll be drawing the cpm flower stand art for YKL21, as usual with big help from @Smiley and probably her friend Yumi in Osaka ordering flowers, organising transit and things :plz:

This year is her 60th birthday afterall, and with so much drama happening I hope I can do something more special or bigger to show YK our support, so I'll have a think about what exactly to draw...!

(Last year we were unfortunately not allowed to send flowers to the venue, so the art was just gifted to Yuki as a special printed slate with some postcards. And I'm so sorry I think I didn't even share it here because I was too busy and excited during that period... but here it is if anyone is curious!)

To be honest your drawings are way better than the (comparatively) lazy logos they make every year for the tour. So i agree with grunty!

I suppose this is pretending to be a stage and curtains, made with MS paint (lol) ? This would only be acceptable if the live was held in 1995 or something but now its 30 years later...

Lots to think about in this...

Kajiura is a traditionalist so she wouldn't go hardcore like you said. She needs to feel comfortable with what she does live.

I would like Kimetsu chant medley by KOKIA rather than LINO LEIA, because KOKIA has strong ethnic vocalizations chops, and it would reduce the comparisons of LINO to Keiko since she's (KOKIA's) a guest singer and somewhat beloved already.

I was talking about Soundtrack Special with LL. LL is already a Kimetsu BGM vocalist (starting with the Swordsmith Village Arc) so she has stuff to perform. I don't know if she would be given Chiaki's "the main theme of Kimetsu no Yaiba" medley as well, but who knows.

Sure but they shouldnt be the main focus, there are so many underperformed kajiirago or japanese songs in YK's discography: where is Storm and the cage song from mai otome / hime / where is Shoot! Life goes on or Shinkai no Kodoku (Gundam) or Gensou Rakuen ? Where is ma ship of fools in a video recording and so many gems from xenosaga its not just godsib or the main theme, and they should do Jr, or Albedo or Comminication Breakdown... Not to menthion these days they only do nowhere out of all FJY discography

Nowhere covers from FJY are also so tired to me

I get that YK wants to play the most popular songs from those groups, though

It took her how many years to finally do Fields of Hope ??
