well I think that it also depends on the artist. Fans get really loud in idol lives, they have their special chants for each girl and song. Maybe it's because Kalafina is a real vocal unit, so the mood could be a bit ruined by the chanting.

I totally understand that its cultural differences thought at that moment i was in shock. Everyone was sitting.

@nimsaj you're right, my bad. I didn't mean that they could not enjoy that for sure. I certainly could not tell if they were enjoying it or not. Of course they were enjoying the whole concert because they attended or so i presume.

But I meant some particular songs. Sometimes i think they were concentrating in lirica's crescendo (i was singing the kajiurago... :ohoho: ) or didnt know the structure of the song, i wouldn't know actually. I don't know if it had something to do with the venue being a fancy theater also. I do remember I enjoyed watching a japanase kalafina fan girl from my seat position, she was the only one standing up in her place, everyone else was sitting. She screamed the girls' name sometimes, danced a little and kept turning around, kinda awkward. I wanted to join her.. :sohappy:

During Kajiuras AX concert, almost everyone was sitting down and quite, even during fast songs like Mezame and Stone Cold. It was weird.

I must say that I really understand this behavior. When you are quiet and sit, you can focus fully on the performance. Yuki sometimes performs very complex compositions, so they deserve the full attention of the audience. Her music has a too high niveau to only serve as a "party-moodmaker".

(That's at least what I think. I'm not an expert in Japanese mentality.)

I agree!
I am not an expert when it comes to music, composition and stuff like that but whenever I listen to KY's music I don't really feel the need to clap/to jump up and down/to scream or whatever.
But that could just be me cause I am generally a very quiet person that enjoys music pretty much in silence. That way, it feels like I can better concentrate on the the music, the voices or the particular sound of one instrument.
Whenever I am head-banging or jumping up and down I feel like my brain cells are getting mashed up :ohoho: :ohoho:

Heh, that's not only you :ohoho:

I also pay much attention to details and try to concentrate on one instrument. (I always enjoy to listen to the guitars on Kalafina's "destination unknown", or on Yuki's chant in "pugna cum maga") Because of that, I always try to get the best sound quality. Bad quality diminishes my listening enjoyment enormously!

Whenever I am head-banging or jumping up and down I feel like my brain cells are getting mashed up :ohoho: :ohoho:

Me too! :uh..: I've got a low blood pressure, so I'm always completely dizzy after headbanging or jumping around stuff :imdead:

^
Eat more garlic makes blood pressure goes even lower, George. I know this 'cause my gramps has a really high blood pressure that he had to eat raw garlic every morning.

OOT FTW.

I like to listen to the components of the songs when I listen to them. It really makes me enjoy music more!
Well, I usually end up thinking like 'omg, that drumcross sounded so good' or 'woah, that cello interaction with violins is so grat' and etc. My friend called me the active music listener for that :XD:

+1 :sparkleguy:

Most of my friends are not much into music, so they can only listen to music passively while doing some other things. Once I showed them Kalafina. They didn't like it at all. I assume to know why: Most Yuki Kajiura/Kalafina songs are often harmonically pretty complex (key changes over key changes), sometimes even polyphonic (means that two or more completely diffrent melodys play at the same time, but still harmonize), so you need to listen to it accurately to even understand the song. That's exactly what I enjoy! This music becomes more better and better the more you listen to it, because you slowly hear out more and more! In contrast, most of this everyday music you can listen to on radio gets more and more boring the more you listen to it, althought you might liked it at first. (It's like this for me at least :ohoho: )

Totally true!!
And that felling when your skin covers and you feel stunned on such a music. When I truly enjoy music I say that 'it flows through my body like the blood flows in my veins.' I said that for Kajiura music when in first discovered it.
And for the radio part, yeah, thats right. I sometimes tend to put radio on when Im having fun with friends so its good for goofing off. But I dont listen to the estrade music too much because of the spoken reasons :XD:

You are a soulmate! :plz:

although I usually don't believe in spiritual kinship, but in this case, there's no other possibility than to beleve

I'm also join to you all! Kajiura's music is a balm for the soul. :plz: :dote: :shy:

^ I totally agree with all of that! It's really rare for these music to be so popular too, so props to Yuki Kajiura for that! And the utahimes of course. :sohappy:
