In English materials, the Russian Instrumentative case is also synonymised to Ablative, though I don't figure out why. The name derives from the verb "tvorit'" (lit. "to create"), but the usage is wideк than just "to do smth BY SMTH". For example, the russian analogue of "to be proud of" attaches the object in Instrumentative case.

I'm proud of you - Ya gorzhUs' tobOi. ("toboi" is the Instr. for "ty", the 2nd person singular pronoun).

Aaah, naruhodo. It's just like Our accusative (which consists of the former Ablative and some other stuff ^^ )

In romanian it: I'm proud of you - Sunt mandru de tine (de tine is the 2nd person sg. for "tu".)
