Waiting for Kalafina 2nd album, Red Moon

lol.
Grunty, any comments or Info about I have a Dream?
does Keiko has her solo part?
is it nice?

EDIT To Grunty's post beneath me :

Oh, okay. : )

Well he's sleeping now, and I never asked about more details...

I just can't figure out why they're so good on the Kajiura lives but once they hit Kalafina they go doooooooownhill.

He was at the last Kajiura live too, and said both Wakana and Yuriko were failing at their higher parts, so I don't know about this "Kajiura live = good / Kalafina = bad".

So the way I see it, the LIVE DVDs are 99.9% STUDIO MAGIXXX~

Even that can't fix them to make them sound decent enough for it to be believable unless you're half deaf.

I think there's some sort of reason.

I have to agree with grunty. Their live performances lately (or at least the ones broadcasted on television or through other media) have been rather poor. I can't say that I enjoyed Ongaku completely, since Keiko sounded like she was struggling with those low notes. Progressive was a bloodbath. I'm not even going to comment on Hikari no Senritsu.
But the earlier lives (Oblivious, kimi ga hikari no kaete yuku, ARIA, and Kizuato) were what I thought to be excellent live performances. :sohappy: :sohappy:

Just need to attend their live for real so I can make sure whether they are really that bad or not :blood:

went to 2 Kalafina lives, 2 FJ lives & 1 FJC event
their live performances are great except for some tiny little mistakes
don't understand what those "studio magic thingy" are

I'd take your word for it. "Studio magic" would be things like soft auto-tuning to iron out the kinks, overlaying of original song audio over recorded audio. Things that haven't been done on the DVD's at all. If they had, then we wouldn't be able to hear when they DO make mistakes.

I agree about Oblivious, Kimi ga hikari no kaete yuku, ARIA, and Kizuato.

I also liked Love Come Down live. =) Mata Kaze Ga Tsuyokunatta is not my fave song, but I think they did well on that live. I wasn't really a fan of Ongaku either, and yeah it seemed like Keiko was struggling on the low notes (plus bouncing around a lot didn't help, lol), but seeing her go crazy on stage brought a new light to it for me. :XD: I would have had a lot of fun watching that set live. =D

Considering there's only 3 songs we haven't heard, I'm not really looking forward to this album... Unless half the b-sides aren't in the tracklist...

Well, yea, but the tracklist rumours also said Sanctuary... unless you added that yourself in your posts.

Well yea, I went to the last 2 lives (1 FictionJunction, 1 Kalafina) and thought their singing was great. Maybe it's me who is tone deaf or it depends very much on where you're standing in the room?
But I really didn't find anything wrong, very rarely maybe they weren't "perfect" and out of breathe, but those songs aren't so easy either. Especially Keiko was really good and Wakana impressed me kind of "against my will", because I'm tired of her voice, and still during the live I couldn't help thinking that she is really skilled. Hikaru is maybe the weakest (I felt she messed up "Natsu no Ringo" >< ), but as I said in the other thread, during her solos (like Aria) she was also very good.

So I really can't relate to your friend's impression o.o
