Well, this is still sure to take place in the final timeline, and he did hint that the whole Magica Quartet had some input in the plot... I hope Shinbo will at least squeeze some Sayaka and Kyouko bonding flashbacks in. Kyouko said "just when we've finally become friends" in ep 12, so gimmeh at least this!

Ah, so you guys are talking about THAT pic... I was a bit confused by Murrue's question. The guy IS the male version of Mami (maybe the "gendershift" term I used is not correct enough to be clear, but I plain forgot the right term... Genderbend? Gendertwist? Ah, whatever ). But the girl beside him looks much rather like Charlotte to me, not Madoka.

Most, if not all, voices bear decent semblance to the original (sans maybe Kyouko, but I guess getting Ai Nonaka's intonations right might be a bit tricky). Now, the biggest task for them will be to act the emotions out right and at the same time NOT overact them (lest we should get another Xenosaga dub ). In this light, Kyuubey's voice seems a bit too happy, but let's see how it develops.
What I did like is Sayaka's foolin' around on the way to school. "Madoka, you're mine, mine, mine!" Both apt rendition and apt performance on the dub actress' side made me believe I'm really listening to Sayaka here, only in English. Hopefully, the actress will handle further character development well.

Sigh, it seems like Reanimedia (one of the few remaining AND probably the only worthy anime distributor in Russia) is considering the probability of licensing Madoka, but they've taken to voting surveys to ensure enough people are going to really buy the anime released... and Madoka's currently losing to Summer Wars and Evangelion 2.2. Not that I don't appreciate those two getting released in Russia, but...

I'm somehow troubled with the eyes of the leftmost and the central nendoroids such eyes would fit Gretchen more than Madoka... Are they different from the rightmost one, or is it just the lighting?

Well, they are odd because these Madoka Nendoroid are most probably bootlegs.

For the dub: The voices are indeed close although I was expecting them to find a girl with a slightly more high pitched voice for Madoka and for Kyouko a more scary one, but the main problem seems to be is that they dont act as well as the japanese actors did, they dont give you these strong emotions and they dont seem to be "into" their role

a MORE high pitched voice for Madoka? And here I thought the chosen dub was just a bit too high in comparison to Aoi Yuuki's voice... Maybe that's because of how people interpret her voice, although it's not that high-pitched in fact. But I sure don't want Madoka to speak like Mickey Mouse in the English dub. So far it's quite tolerable, but let's pray they won't overdo it.
As to acting as well as the original actors did... impossible. While there ARE a lot of talented voice actors in the US, most of them go for American animation, be it Disney movies, Simpsons or My Little Pony FiM. In the absence of a high number of voice acting schools and the overwhelming number of their graduates like in Japan, anime dubbers often have to work with whoever they can get. And however brilliant the dub director may be, he's certainly NOT the original director of the show, so he can't guide the actors to act like the original cast did.

That's the reality we live in. So while I'm on the lookout for things done well in a dub, I'm generally alright with anything... as long as they keep the Japasese audio track intact as well.

^I thought Mami couldn't become a witch due to the circumstances of her death? It would've been cool if that was her witch form had she turned into a witch.

I think, as of right now, I like Homura's voice and Kyubi's voice (albeit, he does sound a little too happy) in the dub trailer.

I hope they keep the Japanese audio track intact as well.
