@Spirica: We've only seen Mami fall prey to a witch in one timeline, and given Homura's reaction, it doesn't seem to be common (plus, we've seen her successfully defeat Charlotte in Oriko timeline). Her death after mental breakdown is also an unlikely tendency. Which leaves room for... other posibilities.
