I don't disagree with this formula, but the way it was done was so cliche that it left me disappointed.

It does, as far as I remember there wasnt any anime of this genre in the past with so much darkness in the beginning (and probably in the whole series too)
 
I think I'm the only one here that doesn't think that just because the series is darker than we thought that this is a good thing. Sure, it is something different than what we would expect from a mahou shoujo, but it isn't the only aspect from the series and it has to be well done. So, I will at least fwait for more episodes in order to formulate an opinion about this darkness and if it is really good or not.

By the way, so far, there have been many Fate/Stay Night and Pandora Hearts comparisons with Madoka.
 
I dont see any connection with Fate/Stay Night... illusions are a common thing in dark animes where characters have magic power, if you imply that comparison.

Edit: But I never said I was the one that made the comparisons, I just read them. The F/SN was also about a theory I read, but I don't think it will turn out like the person said.

That's the most least "important" comparision, which you already pointed out earlier so no need to stress on it. It has no relevance to the plot, unlike Shiro&Archer...
 
I know, but since the story hasn't developed much yet it's easier to note her attack rather than Madoka and Senjou...I mean, Homura's relationship.
 
Well, that's what speculation is for. It's looking like it could be the same as Shirou & Archer so many people are disappointed that it might be repeating Fate/stay night. Hopefully it's not the case.
 
Madoka - Homura have too much difference in appearance, compared to Shiro - Archer. Can't really see this kind of plot coming, but anything can happen.

As for Madoka... nice to see somebody finely started with deconstruction of mahou shoujo genre.
 
I couldn't help but compare it to Lyrical Nanoha. There's a darker side of mahou shoujo, too...
 
i havent watched it....

so, how the storyline is it villain of the week ? or it continuing every episode ? :confu:
