My guess for the track..
1 Eri's track
2 The dark track with vocal humming. (when Madoka helped Kyubey from Homura)
3 One of witch's hunt track with Kajiurago.
4 Quite sure that this one is Mami's Theme
5-8-12 Relaxing tracks used in Madoka's daily life..I can remember only different 3..= =.
6 violin boy's theme... .
7 The track for a mysterious scene like when Homura talked with Madoka for the first time, when they talked about the grief seed
9 The song that sounds like Homura's Theme
10-11 2 new tracks in Charlotte's barrier
13 The witch's hunt track when they entered to Gertrude barrier with the vocal
Honestly, guys, it's even been mentioned in the main Madoka topic (although my posts are so long and over-spammed, it might have been diffcult to fish out, I admit )
Well... Good news: 13 tracks. Bad news: still seems hardly above half an hour in whole (that's usually called an EP, not an album ). But since it's going to be 30 minutes of awesomeness, I'm content with it. It's just a pity that our wait for a one-cour OST is stretched to the extent of a two-cour one. The DVD delays certainly don't help.
Ah well, here's also the "wow" news: the whole thing consisting of Latin titles! That's really standing out.
As to these two months of waiting, we'll sure find how to keep ourselves busy here. Identifying the tracks, for example.
Btw, can't but notice that mahou shoujo is rendered as "puella magica" here. That seems to be another proof that the "Puella Magi" was used in the title quite intentionally, going down to the meaning of
"The girl [form?] of the witch"
But let's leave these issues in the other topic; now, to ponder the titles...
My guess for the track..
1 Eri's track
2 The dark track with vocal humming. (when Madoka helped Kyubey from Homura)
3 One of witch's hunt track with Kajiurago.

Quite possible Of course, Eri's track should pack in at least two verses (likely three) and an instrumental bridge, but it's almost 3 mins, so... Salvae, Terrae Magicae must be that humming track despite the grand flavour (what a trolling title it will be if we're correct ) - it also develops into a barrier theme (seeing as it's used for at least three barriers).
I'm not quite sure about Gradus Prohibitus (having the witch hunt track longer than the PM theme? Well, we'll see), but Credens Justitiam strongly suggests being Mami's theme. Seems short at first, but the piece I ripped from episode 3 is about 50 seconds long and its' basically the most we've heard of this track in the show. I believe another minute of tracklength should provide enough space for an equally awesome bridge (boy, this track is so aiming to compete with A Song of Storm and Fire for me ).
5-8-12 Relaxing tracks used in Madoka's daily life..I can remember only different 3..= =.
Now wait. If Clementia is "clemency" or "compassion", it might be hinting at Sayaka. For instance, the cello track we hear at the beginning of episode 4. On the other hand, I think Postmeridie and Scaena Felix will really be something daily. Scaena Felix sounds like the track during Madoka & Co's walk to school in ep 1, Postmeridie... either the guitar piece, or the "salon piano" piece. There's also the conversation between Madoka and her mother, but that one's so plot-heavy, I think it would have a more defined title.
If it represents his desire to play, yes. If it represents Sayaka's desire, we might get her theme! Upon revising first 6 episodes, I found that it debuts in ep 5, actually, so... ah, but they're both gorgeous. btw, the theme we heard in ep 9 before the battle with Octavia actually debuts in ep 6 as well. Insert ranting about music usage if you care to
7 The track for a mysterious scene like when Homura talked with Madoka for the first time, when they talked about the grief seed
Here, I'd opt for a swap. IMHO Conturbatio is one of the Charlotte tracks you mentioned, the second one to be precise. It's also used in
Sayaka/Kirsten
battle and
Sayaka/Kyoko
battle.
As for Umbra Nigra, a track called "black shadow" might be ominous enough to fit the atmosphere to of the bell-driven piece in question. Unless it's actually Puella in Somnio... but I'm positive we're getting Homura's theme now, and Puella in Somnio is about the only fitting title I see for it. Although if you go by episode 10, Homura's theme might actually be Gradus Prohibitus (a newspost comment translation turns it into Hindered Steps, making me think about
Homura's first steps as a Puella Magi in timeline 2
).
Ok, then, if Umbra Nigra is not the bell piece, then we also have an ominous cello piece from when
Sayaka contracted with Kyuubey at the beginning of ep 5
. Or the
Soul Gem incident
in ep 6. Or the aforementioned Sayaka-related theme from eps 6/9... Seriously, with a title like this in a show LIKE THIS...
Same goes for Terror Adhaerens, one can think up several options. From the ones we've just talked about concerning Umbra Nigra to another way of naming the battle theme I assumed being Conturbatio. It might also be the barrier track (but then what is Salve, Terrae Magicae? I fail to pick another proper track to fit this title...)
And my firmest bet is Pugna cum Maga. There are not so many witch battle tracks, and we're certainly not getting Magia again Having Octavia's theme so early is doubtful ( ), and the one discussed above isn't limited to witch hunts. We're apparently left with Charlotte battle theme (later reprised at the beginning of ep 9).
Phew. There's a bunch of other tracks in the first half of the show(including renditions of Mami and Sayaka's themes), but I don't know where to apply them here.
Honestly, guys, it's even been mentioned in the main Madoka topic (although my posts are so long and over-spammed, it might have been diffcult to fish out, I admit )
I dont see it anywhere, all these post were just rumours and bets, until yesterday.. Besides, the Madoka site rarely updates its BD/DVD info so I forgot to check it.
Also like I had said to grunty > viewtopic.php?p=101154#p101154 . "We just thought that you got it from the same place from where you always get the track length "
They always update with the DVDs for the episodes every 2 epeisodes (they updated for the first DVD/BD after the airing of ep 2 and so on) so there's no need to worry about that.
Very short track lengths, but I'm glad were getting 13. Love the Latin titles as well. Hoping that the album contains Gertud's barrier/Sayaka's transformation theme along with the song played when Homura steals from the yakuza.
Thought so, too. But I've just checked some other OSTs (Tsubasa Chronicle, Petite Cossette and RHH) and it looks like most tracks there have roughly similar length. So, these track length seem pretty standard.
These debuted in ep 1 and ep 2 respectively, so the probability of appearing in the first OST is the height of a skyscraper.
Not so sure about Sayaka's theme, but it debuted in ep 5, so it's possible as well.
@Grunty: Oh... Well, I haven't wathced either yet... but both OSTs were handled by Victor. Sony might have a different approach (which I fail to dwell upon, since I haven't watched RHH either and KnK movies apparently don't count ).
Can't say I feel any excitement, it's rather Anticipation. Excitement was present with RHH2 which we knew next to nothing about the contents of. With Madoka, watched and rewatched and listened to numerous times, there seem to be few surprises to expect. The only intrigue is how close our title speculations will be to the real tracklist. The question is not what we'll get but "when oh when will we get it at last? "
Scaena Felix? Dunno, Homura's theme doesn't sound anywhere near peaceful/happy, if you ask me. But I support your bet on the main theme. still hoping that Desiderium is Sayaka's theme
Less than three days. I was kinda hoping for a leak, but oh well. Guess I'm getting a bit too spoiled
Despite claiming lack of personal overhype earlier, I'm getting more excited by the hour...
not predicted. but a fitting title alright. The song is gorgeous, but rather short indeed... could have even looped it with some tweaks, there's plenty of space left on the CD.
