Mizuki Nana

I really like Nana's voice...there's so much range and power behind it. She's really stunning too... :nosebleed:

I have her Ultimate Diamond album on CD, partly because the packaging is so damned awesome, and also because the songs are great. They just feel a bit...overproduced? The arrangements are too 'busy' if that's the right word. I know Yuki uses loads of different 'layers' of instrumentation and samples to build up a soundscape, but the UD mixes have a bit too much going on. As much as I love her voice - especially in the upbeat rock tunes and expressive ballads - it's a bit overwhelming to listen to sometimes.

I haven't listened to much of her earlier stuff though...I was told her more recent albums are better.

I'm a real admirer of Maaya Sakamoto's music too, so if anyone starts a thread, count me in. :sohappy:

For those looking for a recommended song by Nana Mizuki, look up on youtube her duet with Suara of "Shin Ai".

I found out today that I missed out on tickets to Nana-chan's Akita and Aomori concerts, even with fan club membership - the tickets sold out in minutes.

I later found out that I needed fan club membership back in February to get the August tickets, but bought tickets for Akita and Aomori this coming weekend off Yahoo Auctions via fromjapan.co.jp.

Managed to get a picture of some of the Cherry Boys this afternoon while queuing for merchandise:

Well, the concert went from about 6:45pm to 9:30pm, plus Nana tossing (and firing) balls into the audience. Only only knew 4 songs though... Pop Master, Eternal Blaze, Next Arcadia and Scarlet Knight. Everyone had the official blue penlights, and most people had red and orange cyalumes as well.

OK, back from the Aomori concert. Scarlet Knight was not performed, but Discotheque, Don't Be Long and Super Generation were performed.

Forgot to mention, at each of the Akita and Aomori concerts, the mascot for the prefecture came on stage for one song with Nana-chan.

Mascot for Aomori is in this picture:

Yes, there are lots of songs I would have like to have heard including Tenkū no Canary and Justice To Believe.

I finally managed to hear the Rockbound Neighbors album as music on demand on the flight from Tokyo to Singapore about 24 hours ago.

:nophoto:

Maybe I did not see it but it seems no one have talked about the collaboration between Nana Mizuki and T.M. Revolution.
For the animated series "Kakumeiki Valrave", they will sing together the opening theme "Preserved Roses".

There are some websites which are streaming legaly the anime and so you can discover the theme before its released May the 15th.
On the French legal streamer website, Wakanim, you are allowed to see for free an episode during one week. The anime is in Japenese subtitled in French only:

Unfortunately, the two websites videos are only allowed to be seen by japanese. You must use a proxy to see the videos.

I caught a bit of the song from a torrent of Kakumeiki Valrave.

If I've covered my trip expenses fully I'll put in an order with CD Japan for a few items I've had on my wishlist like the CD single for Preserved Roses.
