Madoka Magica - the movie trilogy

I've yet to watch the Mai-Otohime franchise and Aquarian Age as well (plus Madlax, El Cazador, Liminality, Erementar Gerad...), but in their case I just can't find the time. And I have problems with Mai-Hime designs, but I think I can get over them. :XD:
:vortex: :ohoho:
Same here, but I got over it.Mai Hime (isn't that bad)I'm a die hard otaku I guess, but I also have my genres of anime.El Cazador, Mai Otome and Elemental is also on my list, but as for Madlax, I strongly recommend it to you.

I'd recommend watching 3 or 4 episodes of every series. :)

I think, on both My-HiME and MADLAX, 4 episodes is absolutely perfect to know if they are shows for you or not. You should feel no regret about dropping them after those 4 episodes. My-Otome should probably be only for fans of My-HiME even if they are completely seperate shows.
I agree on Grunty.Since you cannot really judge the anime unless you watch a couple of episodes, I mean you may feel it's boring in ep1 but a change of heart would probably come by after a few succeeding episodes.

LOL, someone @4chan came up with the following:

>Madoka movie remake ala Rebuild/TTGL movies
>They already showed despair, what will they do?
>Pull a Rebuild where instead of them being whiny bitches like Shinji they will become total badasses like Rebuild Shinji
>Mami will beat charlotte
>Kyouko will pull Sayaka out of her witch form, ala Shinji saving Rei from the Angel
>The full magical girl team with defeat Walpurgis Night
>The third movie will be about the magical girls taking the fight to the Incubators.
>The climax will be a fight between Godoka and the Incubator King like in Lagann-Hen
>The Universe will be freeded from the Incubators despair
>Godoka fades away after her and Homura get married
>She becomes a travelling hobo
>Film ends with a new generation of magical girls spreading out into the universe

Although I lol'd even more at some anons getting suspicions that Anno may be co-writing the third movie. :ohoho:

I wonder why you have such problems after having watched Madoka

Dunno, it's about personal taste, maybe. :XD: I raised my eyebrow a lot at Madoka's designs back when they were first revealed, but they looked more like "mildly unnatural" rather than ticking me off. (the fact that we were expecting a Shaft production only helped :ohoho: ). I pretty much got over them before the broadcast date and there was a limited number of times throughout the show when I remembered them. But I watched the first ep of Mai-Hime, and while it didin't seem boring to me (just not hooking enough to sit down at it right away), the faces kept bothering me throughout the whole episode. :spotlight: I think the only character designs I've ever liked less are featured in Gilgamesh.

On the other hand, I saw people flaming Angel Beats designs, where as I personally deemed them 100% alright. Except that they look simply generic, which AFAIK bothers some people by default. :ayashii:

As to Mai-Hime and Madlax - like I said, I watched the first eps of both. Indeed, I was far from getting a definite impression and put them off because I had more interesting stuff on hand and in my watch/check-list then. I may watch Mai-Otome someday regardless of how Mai-Hime will turn out n my view, simply due to me being a closet shoujo-ai fan out of curiosity :psst: :innocent: :XD: And it's too late with Tsubasa Chronicles, since it was the show I discovered Yuki through. :XD: It was my favourite animu for a long time, even though it's quite a guilty pleasure - it touches my heart strings despite the many issues the first season had and despite the second season being a grand trainwreck. Although frankly speaking, while I still put Tsubasa in my anime top 10 nowadays, it's primarily Tokyo Revelations I'm thinking of. While it had its own flaws, it SO screams "Tsubasa Chronicles DONE RIGHT" to me. :dote:

I also watched the first ep of El Cazador, and I admit I was blinking a lot. Then I checked out a couple of random episodes, and blinked even more. I'll still watch the show someday, and there's a chance I may like it, even, but I can already guess that our forum's proffessional animu critic (aka Ponti) would have a field day... no, a FIELD YEAR with it. :ohoho:

Has there been any confirmation on whether Kajiura Yuki will be composing the music for the movies?

The closest thing I have to a confirmation will be from a Japanese blog's transcript of the NewType interview. I've yet to see the magazine myself though ...

Atsuhiro Iwakami 岩上 敦宏 from Newtype said:
岩上「梶浦サウンドで劇場を包み込みたいですね」

It literally says that he wants to "wrap" the entire movie in Kajiura sound~

He's the producer, by the way. Appeared at AFA for Fate/Zero as well.

I still wouldn't take this as a confirmation though, just that they want Kajiura to do it. Whether or not they actually do get her is another thing...
But considering the immense popularity of the OST and the countless fanmade versions on niconico, I don't think they'd take no for an answer. The magazine even quoted Hideaki Anno saying he bought Vol. 2 for the OST.

Here are some translations from the magazine, although Yuki isn't mentioned in them. Thanks for the addition! :sohappy:

Hmm, wrapping the movie in Kajiuran sound... :ayashii: :stars: Sounds promising.
And I doubt Yuki would refuse unless under a heavy force major. AFAIK she favors the show; according to her blog, she even missed her station while reading the script on the train, and she re-read it many times.

The magazine even quoted Hideaki Anno saying he bought Vol. 2 for the OST.

If he liked Yuki's work so much... may it lead to a possible collaboration in the near future? :psst:

i hope there will be new Kalafina song for this movie

For each movie, preferably. :plz: Just like KnK days. :sohappy:

Hey I just noticed that the Madoka site has updated to a more shiny appearance probably for the movies http://www.madoka-magica.com/

Since the movies are partially intended to draw more audience (Iwakami said that they will be interesting to watch for those who didn't check out the TV series, implying he counts on such people to watch Madoka now), they need to troll them, too. :sparkleguy: :ohoho:

It's been updated ever since the day the movie was announced (or leaked). If you look closely, the loading clock animation and percentage actually rotates/counts backwards!

The wiki only has a summary of points. I found that quote after some googling. Still have yet to find the full interview though. Will take a look at the interview if I get my hands on a copy of the magazine.

Evangelion is Shiro Sagisu's!

^lol....@HatoChan&Nick.... Well... I don't want to see Eva with another OST than Shiro Sagisu's (Even it's Yuki's ost...I still say no!!!)...but another good anime from Anno&Yuki's ost is more than welcome... :nosebleed:.

I wasn't impressed on Sagisu's Evangelion OST, it was good but not that spectacular for me, aside from the classical music they used (eg. Canon in D major, and another Beethoven composition).I'm wishing for FictionJunction this time if it's possible.

No Kajiura with Eva, and I mean it. Sagisu's compositions are too iconic.

@murrue: no such thing as possible when Madoka Magica is still under Aniplex :TdT:

Well, seeing as Yuriko accompanied Magia already, they just need to add Kaori to chorus, and you have full Kalafina x FJ. :ohoho:

EDIT: huh, just noticed that this page has the release entry (Выпуск) reading "since ??.??.2012". I don't know whether this is based on official info, but if it's true... Is Shaft delivering three movies in the course of next year? :fwa: Bakemonogatari, Negima, Madoka...
