I really hope this won't be the case, even if they animate the scenes differently. Another film like the Gurren Lagann movie is an utter waste of resources imho. :uh..:

But anything else, guess it wouldn't hurt to try just out of curiosity...assuming the news is confirmed one day. :ayashii:

Retelling/summary of a certain anime series in a movie seems to be the trend these days.So in case this news would be confirmed in the future, I don't get my hopes too high on it.

Or, more likely, did just what they're now apologizing for - announced the info before Magica Quartet confirmed being ready and/or willing to comment on it.
The odds of the production itself starting look good anyway. :plot: Since I doubt Newtype would play outright pranks, the mention itself may just as well confirm the format of the next Madoka project Urobuchi's been working on. Of course, let's keep in mind that going by Shaft's schedules and the required animation quality, we may not see this movie next year or even in 2013. :leaf: :tea:
 
Sigh, so they're going the Gurren-Lagann way for the first two movies. I admit, I'd be perfectly fine if they just made the third, original one alone. :tea:
Well, let's hope Magica Quartet has something interesting to show us in the recap. Maybe one of these movies will be the expansion of ep 10, and the other one will add another angle to rest of the events. Maybe we'll even get some Drama CD contents animated (although I doubt about the second one :XD: :XD: :XD: ). Simple stock footage would hardly lure enough watchers, and I think Iwakami's sane enough to understand that. If retelling's what we're gonna get for the first two courses, I'll put my faith in the possible new content to come...
But you can bet I'll be looking forward to the "dessert" (i.e. the third movie with a new plot) most of all. :ayashii: :plot:
although if they promise to animate Kyouko and Mami's past extensively, I might become just as expectant of the first two. :shy: :XD:

I don't get the don't ruin the perfection of the Tv thing. We are getting more madoka and more Yuki music. That's good. Do not complain.

And what if it is bad? no problem we can always make like it (the movies) does not exist. Umineko fans are used to it (anime) and we have no problem at all.

I recently watched the anime sequel to Final Fantasy 5 and I consider pretending I've never seen it, actually. :ohoho:

And speaking of Yuki's music, aren't we getting THREE MOVIE OSTS instead of one now? With quite possibly moar Eri, Fion, Yuri, Tokyo Konsei and Kalafina (the latter may get three theme songs :stars: ). :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Of course, some themes will be recycled, like Sis Puella Magica to Grunty's dismay, Credens Justitiam, Puella in Somnio, Decretum etc. But I expect yet more gems to come nonetheless.

Oh, and another thing: even if the OSTs are bundled (and I bet they will be), the total number of BGMs may become enough for a separate best collection that some people here are longing for. :sparkleguy:

According to producer Iwakami Atsuhiro, it will be shown in theaters and it is a work which is based on the theme of the promise between Madoka and Homura as they become magical girls. The animation will focus on the formation of their relationship, exploring stories that were briefly referenced in the tenth episode of the TV series. Fans will have an opportunity to see how the ordinary schoolgirl Kaname Madoka set a mysterious destiny in motion, and how Akemi Homura became the person that she is. Iwakami: Urobuchi was already writing 2-season plot during TV series airing
Urobuchi: One written as sequel was less in amount then 1st cour.
Editing group: Plot won't be changed
Shinbo: My mouth is tickling, but I can't say anything about it.

The new plot: It is based on ideas that Urobuchi cannot write just by himself.

Well, we seem to be getting stuff that was left overboard or only featured in drama CDs. And like I said, a lot of fans wanted just that, so Shaft/Aniplex are actually being quite nice to follow this (considering that they'd milk the franchise anyway and in whatever direction :psst: ). Of course, it would be preferrable to fill the movies with this newly animated content and keep stock footage to a minimum. Then again, if Iwakami wants to make them wathable for those who skipped the show itself, there's BOUND to be some retelling. Let's just hope for a balance. :tea:

It wasn't as bad as I thought, especially for a first-time effort. And that song is kickass.

A trilogy, haha. Oh well.
 
I read in 4chan that Gen (or whoever is in charge) wanted to call it Revenge of the Incubators/ Incubators Strike Back.
