I don't know what amuses me more - the news or Grunty's reaction.
It's only our expectations coming true. Madoka IS a franchise to milk, and since Bakemonogatari's getting a movie, I don't see why Madoka wouldn't.
IMHO, no big problem here. As long as the original team is present, this is sure to be worthwhile. Anything above that depends on the nature of the movie, the ideas they're realizing and the way those will be realized. Of course, it's a double-edged sword - Madoka's popularity might guarantee insane initial box office, but at the same time the audience demands for the movie based on such a popular show will be really high.
Personally, the only thing I wouldn't want is a plain retelling akin to Gurren-Lagann movie. EVEN with whatever extras they might throw in. Then again, if they manage to base a sensible movie around the original content of episode 10, it will be something many fans (myself included) hoped for. An adaptation of Oriko Magica would also be nice, but I really doubt that's going to happen. A sequel? That would be the most intriguing, but also the riskiest venture.
But I can't wait to see what becomes of it. And if we consider the possibility of new music (hopefully Shaft is not like Production I.G. when it comes to recycling
)...
MY BODY IS READY
The only downside is that they'll likely bundle the OST again.
Please, no Yuki/Kalafina for this project
I'll wave it off as mild trolling
You CAN dream, Kazado (I won't ask for your reasons, because I'm not sure I'm eager to know them), but seriously, Magica Quartet has to go COMPLETELY NUTS not to bring Yuki back. And going by Yuki's attitude to the show, I suppose she'd be saddened by this as well.
Please, NO! For all that's sacred, NO! Don't ruin another master piece!! Please! Please! Please!!!
Fret not, my fellow madokafag friend.
I'm really not sure why people tend to think of movies etc. as killers of the originals. There's a difference between an anime and the franchise it creates. Even if Madoka movie turns out to be an impressive failure, it will ruin the FRANCHISE (quite
possibly, but not
surely ). The original series' reputation is unshakable.
1) haters gonna hate
2) like I said, the expectations for this particular movie will be very high. It's only logical a lot of people expect to be disappointed. Although Alphie, for instance, took a safe position there.
