Madoka Magica - the movie trilogy

Grunty-chan, don't say bad words, they scare Alphie :plz:

But I wonder what it will look like. I think I'll watch it although I'm pretty sure I won't like it :ayashii:

I love this cover. :dote:
Please release madoka music collection,Aniplex. :knife:

Re: Madoka Magica - the movie

Please, no Yuki/Kalafina for this project :sohappy: Can I dream? Can I? :sohappy: Or something better: is this a joke? :sohappy: Pleeeeaaaaseeeee~
Seriously now guys, if the original "plot" was insufferable, movie's will be nonexistent. And that's it.

Wow.

The magazine also notes that the original television anime won 12 of the 21 awards at the first ever Newtype Anime Awards in Tokushima last month.

This was already discussed, but I'm going to pretend it didn't happen. :XD:

:uh..: Please, NO! For all that's sacred, NO! Don't ruin another master piece!! Please! Please! Please!!! :omg:

Why so much negativity? Is it going to be after-anime events, in-between ones or just a sum up ? Personally I wouldnt mind more Yuki/Kalafina on it. :sohappy:

I don't know what amuses me more - the news or Grunty's reaction. :XD:
It's only our expectations coming true. Madoka IS a franchise to milk, and since Bakemonogatari's getting a movie, I don't see why Madoka wouldn't. :psst:

IMHO, no big problem here. As long as the original team is present, this is sure to be worthwhile. Anything above that depends on the nature of the movie, the ideas they're realizing and the way those will be realized. Of course, it's a double-edged sword - Madoka's popularity might guarantee insane initial box office, but at the same time the audience demands for the movie based on such a popular show will be really high. :plot: :ayashii:

Personally, the only thing I wouldn't want is a plain retelling akin to Gurren-Lagann movie. EVEN with whatever extras they might throw in. Then again, if they manage to base a sensible movie around the original content of episode 10, it will be something many fans (myself included) hoped for. An adaptation of Oriko Magica would also be nice, but I really doubt that's going to happen. A sequel? That would be the most intriguing, but also the riskiest venture. :ayashii: :ayashii: :ayashii: But I can't wait to see what becomes of it. And if we consider the possibility of new music (hopefully Shaft is not like Production I.G. when it comes to recycling :knife: )...
MY BODY IS READY :hero: :gimmeh: :XD:

The only downside is that they'll likely bundle the OST again. :...:

Please, no Yuki/Kalafina for this project

I'll wave it off as mild trolling :knife: :XD: :XD:
You CAN dream, Kazado (I won't ask for your reasons, because I'm not sure I'm eager to know them), but seriously, Magica Quartet has to go COMPLETELY NUTS not to bring Yuki back. And going by Yuki's attitude to the show, I suppose she'd be saddened by this as well.

Please, NO! For all that's sacred, NO! Don't ruin another master piece!! Please! Please! Please!!!

Fret not, my fellow madokafag friend. :sparkleguy:
I'm really not sure why people tend to think of movies etc. as killers of the originals. There's a difference between an anime and the franchise it creates. Even if Madoka movie turns out to be an impressive failure, it will ruin the FRANCHISE (quite possibly, but not surely :ohoho: ). The original series' reputation is unshakable. :tea:

Why so much negativity?

1) haters gonna hate :psst:
2) like I said, the expectations for this particular movie will be very high. It's only logical a lot of people expect to be disappointed. Although Alphie, for instance, took a safe position there. :plot:

HMV's twitter seems to say that this is fake. Trying to translate the moon.

cover seems to look like fan art tbh...

but then again....

perhaps movie = summary of episode 10? Wasn't it mentioned that episode 10 should have been longer than 20mins iirc? :confu:

Whatever is on the cover, we already know better than judge the contents of the movie by ANY official art released before it. It's Madoka we're talking about. :ohoho:
But if the news itself is fake... Seriously, Newtype joining the trollercoaster? I find it hard to believe. And April is nowhere near yet. :XD:

HMV was just apologizing for mentioning unreliable information. Can't tell if there's any conformation whether this is true or not. Though the fact they state the next cover should be Nanoha remains suspicious.

You don't like it?

This won't be a retelling/summary of the whole series right?

Update 2: When asked about Madoka Magica on the cover, the HMV retailer's anime department reports that the next Newtype cover only has Nanoha.

Update 3: HMV's anime department apologized for spreading unconfirmed information on the possibility of a Madoka Magica film in its posting earlier in the day.

Oh boy.

Well let's see the information is sketchy but this reported from MAL

According to the cover art of Newtype magazine December issue, a film adaptation project of Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica was revealed to be launched. Shinbou Akiyuki, Aoki Ume and Urobuchi Gen will tell the world of the film in the magazine. The official release date of Newtype December issue is November 10th.

Not to mention a month or so ago Urobuchi said he was working on something or more to come? Something like that. Well as long as the movie isn't a very expensive recap episode I'll dig it. I can understand adverse reactions to a potential sequel but it's no more milking the franchise anymore than when they started publishing manga based on it. Personally hoping for the extended Homura back story, apparently Urobuchi scripted episode 10 to be 45 minutes long but they made him cut it down. Still a sequel, spinoff, or alternate retelling might be good too.
