Madoka Magica movies

Well finally Aniplex is giving a proper release with the dub. Still not really interested in getting first the two movies but really want Rebellion.

^The reason why the ending became like this was precisely because Shinbou wanted to leave the possibility for a sequel open so it's not unexpected.

The original was a good end, by the way. Urobuchi had it written to be the end, where Homura leaves quietly with Madoka. Shinbou wanted it changed. And so, here we are.

well, Madoka is probably the most profitable project of Shaft along with Nisemonogatari etc so its logical for Shinbou to not want it to end yet, while Urobuschi has alot to work on Aldnoad.Zero and some more I read below the anime's comments I dont remember now.

Well later interviews and such have claimed that Urobuchi only initially imagined the ending the way you mentioned, but he himself had doubts as to whether that would really be in character for Homura and so they started discussing other options... Then again, and this might just be my cynical side who still preferred the show's ending (though to be fair, I am a lot more okay with the movie now than I once was... I mean, I did end up buying the BluRay), it's entirely possible that that's just him doing typical PR-speech to get more money because even if he did dislike the ending he would never come out and say that.
But yeah, last I heard, Urobuchi himself had second thoughts about just leaving it on that safer note too. Even if I for one would very much have preferred that.

■ 「劇場版 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ [新編]叛逆の物語」について

「魔法少女まどか☆マギカ」の真のクライマックスとなる映画化第三弾。2011年にTVアニメシリーズとして放送され、社会現象を巻き起こした「魔法少女まどか☆マギカ」。

ファンの厚い支持を受けて、2012年に公開された劇場版『[前編]始まりの物語』、『[後編]永遠の物語』は、本編の再編集としては異例のヒットを記録。続く2013年に公開された劇場版第三弾『[新編]叛逆の物語』は、TVシリーズ/劇場版前・後編の正統な続編として、前2作品を更に上回る大ヒット作品となりました。

【ストーリー概略】

I really want to buy the 2 soundtracks for the 3 Madoka Magica movies (Mahou Shoujo , Hajimari no Monogatari & Eien no Monogatari) but I am not willing to pay $70 for one movie's BD and $90 for the other on CDJapan. Anyone know a way I can obtain the soundtracks at a reasonable price?
 
Not sure where to put this but it was reported that a short concept movie, said to be linked to the sequel for the Madoka series, was shown at the Madogatari exhibition (SHAFT's 40th Anniversary exhibit).

Most importantly, Kajiura returned to score for this concept movie (film scoring no less). I have no idea how long it is, or whether this concept movie will eventually be made available elsewhere someday. Exhibition is only a few days (and long sold out?) so I definitely have no chance to watch it.

Now that we are done with all that.

THE SEQUEL IS HAPPENING!!!!

Impressions from some 4chan dude.

Opens with Madoka and Homura giving an overlapping monologue. The whole thing turns into a ballet dance. We see Sayaka change into a magical girl and then into a witch, we see Kyouko reach out for her but miss.

We see Mami dance with Nagisa, and then there's a tempo increase where Homura and Madoka start swerving closer and closer to each other, then Mami swoops in towards Homura who swoops back.

It ends with the ballet being broken, and Homura and Madoka in a isolated field, backs turned towards each other

Before I watched the new image of PMMM, I did not expect it. It has a lot of time: 4 minutes. I heard it is a concept movie. Actually I watched it. I felt it a new work. It is a high level of contents.

The image has a total of 4 minutes. At the beginning of a minute, the first part of it is similar to that of Rebellion. The scene contains Madoka and Homura talked together (simultaneously?) I almost wanted to cry due to the scene. After the scene, mysterious ones were screened. Kyouko-chan fired up and Sayaka-chan turned into a witch. And MamiHomu had conflicts again. Mami-san is so cool!

The concept movie seems an image of the sequel but Shaft did not announce it is the sequel clearly.
 
.. I.. No.. I cannot do this.. Not yet. It's not time to hype yet. It's too early to hype. This can only end in tears. They have not even formally announced the sequel yet. I must not... Will not...this is totally gonna revive my fervor for the series. It's too early for thattttt.
 
I would welcome a sequel with open arms. I mean, it's entirely possible that this hypothetical sequel could be utter garbage, but while my thoughts on Rebellion have been in pretty much constant flux in the two years that have passed since I saw it, one thing that's remained constant is that I just don't think it works at all as an end to the story. There's just too many details in the ending that make absolutely no sense as anything but setup for another story. I mean, Homura becoming essentially omnipotent and recreating the universe again could work as an ending hypothetically, but the way it was presented in the movie we got? Not at all.

...On the other hand I also think that making a compelling and satisfying continuation to this story is really hard. I mean I have an idea in mind, but it's something that I can't imagine being enough to fill out a full 90-minute movie, let alone a TV-series. (For the record the ending I have in mind would basically go full-blown tragedy and have Homura's actions backfire in the worst possible way and her being faced with a choice where she can only partially fix things... I just feel like with the situation they have now there is basically no way for things to go but downwards.)
 
Looks weird, i guess its some sort of demon's invasion and Madoka who is no more a goddess gets chased ? lol

the music is lovely though:dote: :nosebleed: I guess they will release it in the next madoka music collection.
