So did anyone else from here go to the movie besides me?
I went to the Chicago screening and it was insane! The waiting line had to have reached almost a couple blocks. When we were seated there was a small cosplay contest giving out posters. Guess they were limited.
Onto the movies themselves. Wow. The first movie felt very new again with all the new drawn animated scenes. Especially Mami's first transformation(every transformation was new btw), it was almost twice as long, haha. I had chills and Mirai started playing, people started cheering. They cheered and laughed throughout the movie, it was a fun time. As the movie ended after Kyubei's little speech on magical girls, Magia Quattro started playing and the credits rolled in red. It really got me pumping.
Second movie, I didn't notice many changes as the first one did. Things that were new were parts Kyoko vs Octavia. Kyoko was bleeding lots, She even spewed blood at one point. You only saw a shot of her legs though when she tried to stay up. The graveyard scene with Homura was interesting as it led to the episode 10 flashback. They randomly put the Connect OP after all that drama. It was strange yet, it was like a montage focusing on Madoka and Homura. Homura vs Walpurugis was tweeked a bit. Homura's new transformation was really kick-ass. The music was edited here too, it was weird after seeing the epic scene so many times. It's strange that they used that piece of music again when Homura was about to turn into a witch. Madoka wiped Homura's blood off her face. Here's where I noticed more of the rerecorded dialogue. When Madoka made her wish, her tone felt more angrier instead of the calmness I felt originally. The music in this powerful scene was shifted as well. The last scene with Madoka and Homura had a different look, they weren't as "naked" in space, but more bright and shiny. After that scene, still images with planets/universe were added with new piece of music; it was interesting, but didn't think it was necessary. That was pretty much it and the trailer for the 3rd movie, which should be interesting!
