I decided that since there are SO MANY threads about changing stuff in the lyrics section that there should be ONE thread for ALL of them. :\

In NATSU NO RINGO:

Kakire no himawari ni kakurete
Isoide KISSU wo shita
Kimi no yawarakana houtteta wa
Kitto totemo amaidarou

I thought it was quite strange, since "houtteta" wasn't searchable on my Japanese online-dictionary. So after looking into the red moon LIVE booklet, I found the following correction:

Kakire no himawari ni kakurete
Isoide KISSU wo shita
Kimi no yawarakana hoppeta wa
Kitto totemo amaidarou

Umm... So do we post here for lyrics correction?

I downloaded Kaori's Calling single recently, and when I checked the lyrics here, I saw there were some mistakes in the romaji version. The one I downloaded had booklet scans as well, so I was able to check.

From the 3rd stanza:
haruka na toki wo kakenuke te
bokutachi no yobigoe wa
itsuka ookina uta ni naru
ai wo tsumui de yukeru yo
ima wa mada konnani chiisana hikari ga kedo
Should be: hikari dakedo

From the 6th stanza:
furue te ta te wo toriatte
naku shitsu ku nai to omotte

Should be: Nakushitakunai

I think I found a mistake in the English part of Melodie - Salva Nos version. 'I hear it in my tears' is really 'I hear it in my dream'...but I can't be sure. :desksweat:

here's my take on natsu no ringo. there's A LOT of mistakes on the romaji, so i wrote it up from the kanji in the booklet. it's one of my favorite songs so i would like to give my translation as well :sohappy:

hidden by the hedge of sunflowers
we swiftly kissed
it seems your cheeks
were surely very sweet

we chase a wild rabbit among the grass
with no one in sight
in a field that pretends not to recognize us
our shoes we kicked off marks our way

a summer where nothing happened
all we did was fall in love

the dancing crescent moon of the midsummer night
brings us the love we dream of
as i count the lemon colored stars
i place a kiss on your heart

the sound of the flute carries you away
in the wind heading towards the approaching autumn

the green apples that are too young
bear the taste of silver paper
you’ve taken it from a branch where pain ripens
and given it to me

we dream of a restless fish
it was an endless summer
my heart, the seasons, and the apples
forget to even change colors

the weathervane that is sensitive to the cold
sings “it will be fall very soon!”

on a midsummer night where the crescent moon sways
i remember our forgotten love
the petal of a dream
the chiming of the stars
i place a kiss on your heart

those summer’s innocent apples
will forever be the fruits within my heart

i always find it awkward to write romaji because japanese is written together. i tried to separate them as words. like soshiranukao is not soshiranu kao, since soshiranukao as a whole means pretend to not recognize. etc.

I caught a few mistakes in the Ring Your Song lyrics~

CPM version:

Now we’ve come so far from darkness
And will never be apart
So we leave for tomorrow
To start our lives again

Find me there, my tiny feathers
Oh my holy ancient days
You will calm all my sandness
And ring your song
Only for me

Find me there, my tiny feathers
Oh my holy ancient days
I will calm all your sadness
And ring my song
Only for you

Booklet version:

Now we've come so far from darkness
And will never be apart
So we leave for tomorrow
To start our lives again

Find me there, my tiny feathers
Of my holy ancient days
You will calm all my sadness
And ring your song
Only for me

Find me there, my tiny feathers
Of my holy ancient days
I will calm all your sadness
And sing my song
Only for you

I could've swore i told George about Ring your Song two years ago. Oh well, i'll fix that, and all the other mistakes/typos~

I'm curious...where did the Kajiurago for Materialise come from? I've listened to both the original and live versions, and I hear nothing remotely similar to the transcription on the lyrics page :spotlight:

This is what I hear, after writing down the original and then correcting it with the live version (the pronunciation is much clearer in the live, but I left out the extra lines):

sorte miya
yamahii, yamahii, yamahii
yamiya...

kameda sorte miya iya, iya
lamente sorte mita miya, miya
yamahii, koniyii, yamahii

I don't know if anyone would want to change what's already listed, but...

Here's my version. It has similarities whith Niney's one, but I think they sang same words in verses, bridges and choruses. Like, they didn't sing kameda, ameda and kamida in the same lines. I guess you understand what I meant :uh..:
The full live version:

Also, I can see some grammatical patterns in the bridge :ohoho:

here's a translation correction and the kanji for serenato
i did natsu no ringo a few posts up since a lot of early kalafina songs have an incorrect translation

like a flower that waits for the spring
i was swaying in the wind
i come just a bit closer
i want to perceive life

in grasslands with no heaven nor god
“i want to go back home, but i cannot go back”
grieve the tune of the birds

i want to continue to live nestling close with my beloved
i am always wishing for nothing but you

my tears change into songs
as the sound of bells sweetly play a serenade
i search for summer’s whereabouts
let’s go on the road where the last stars will shine on tonight
together

ours souls were frozen after the sun hid itself
i cannot believe, but want to believe in us
who roamed around in love

if i continue to live nestling close to you, my darling
then someday, i will call back the light to this lonely land

i go on the journey of my life
the echo that plays is a serenade of the sound of bells
as we head up to summer’s shadow
someday we will arrive to the far, peaceful sky

my tears change into songs
as a serenade of the sound of bells
plays in my dreams
i search for summer’s whereabouts
and someday, we will head towards the last road
so rest your wings
and let’s sleep together

sorry for the double post >.<

because there were many, many grammatical mistakes in the translation on the lyrics page & since red moon is one of my most favorite songs, here's a corrected version

when i reached out my hand and touched you
there was a single high note in my heart
we gazed at the darkening sky
the world that continues everywhere
was calling out to us

by falling in love and coming to know pain
only then are we able to become human
beyond the night you cried
the cymbals of time resound

i surely believe in our karma that the sky paints
as it plays a song of love
the red moon’s tears are silent music
let’s continue living
in order to share the light

after your voice called out to me
it appears the first wish was born
i take your hand as i chase red moonlight of june
as far as endless sky

i wonder how often do people scream
in the sea of tears they were born in?
a collapsed dream, amongst the shadows
“let there be light!”
hallelujah, resound!

to continue living,
why does simple karma alone
invite anguish instead of happiness?
i always dream of quiet music
in order to reach to where i sleep with you

when i touched you
the first song was born in this world

in the broken and fallen summer
the song of grief resounds
someday love and dreams will disappear
even so, my voice will still not reach you

by receiving flowers with blood-stained hands,
is there a possibility to live on together with you?
a destroyed dream beyond time
do you hear it?
a distant hallelujah

resound the song of love like a flame in the sky,
just only once is fine
the quiet music is violently beginning to overflow
the last sky is where the red moon dreams

汚れた手 means dirty hands, but it is also a way of saying "blood stained hands" and since i think this is more appropriate for the gothic feel of this song, i used that meaning.

dunno if anyone pays attention to any of my revisions :spotlight:
but here you go~

I agree that yogoreta does mean chinureta in that context, but I think that's going a bit too poetical..I think it's better for the listener to interpret the meaning :uh..:

i don't think it's too poetical..i mean, yuki uses 喰らう here which is an extremely vulgar word. i've never heard my parents use it, but i know of it because of some novels i've read it in. and by using 喰らう, it has a negative context. i think blood-stained hands fit with the sentence way better because of it.

but i guess people can interpret it any way they want. it's still yogoreta te :sparkleguy:

I agree with missjasminnn on 'blood-stained hands' for yogoreta for being not too poetical. Most of Yuki's listeners even adore her more because of her poetical lyrics.. In the comment for Kugatsu, I remember someone tell that "futari no tame ni" should be translated as "for our sake", but missjasminnn translated it as "for the sake of us". I replied to him/her that "for the sake of us" is more poetic and gentler than "for our sake", plus kajiura's lyrics are already poetic, so poetic translation is better. And he/she agreed :XD:

Thanks for the corrections. I always feel this certain weird-ness when I see the translation for red moon, and your version is more understandable. Thanks again, missjasminnn~Fellow Kamui-fans~ LOL

Re:

Oh I see..I had thought my interpretation of that line was way too grotesque, so I thought it was too poetic to translate into blood-stained. But now I see my interpretation wasn't that negative :tea:

And about kurai...
missjasminnn said:

That's because in symbolism, a flower usually means stuff like 'feminine' or 'purity', so a dirtied/blood-stained flower usually means..... :omg:
The meaning becomes even stronger when yogoreta is interpreted as blood-stained.

I love your revisions missjasminnn! Thank you for all your hard work! Seventh Heaven is my favorite album, and I really love Kalafina in general so I appreciate immensely what you (and every other translator, of course) do. :sohappy:

I really have to say that Ashita no Keshiki romaji in this site is really awful. Some words are totally wrong, and most of them are not cut in the right place...

^ i'll get on it soon :sparkleguy:

時の向こう 幻の空 is one of my favorite fictionjunction songs :sohappy: i happened to look at the translation on the lyrics page and noticed some grammar mistakes. a huge mistake i see everywhere (not just this site) is 〜ずに...it's is the same as 〜ないで. for example:

思い出さないで
思い出さずに

both mean "without remembering". ~zu ni can also be used without the 'ni'.

in this song, there's a use of potential + ~zu ni.
for example:

思い出せずに

which means "without being able to remember"
i see this always being translated as "can't remember" which is fine, but it looses the "without" part which is important. funimation translated a favorite song of mine containing 'omoidasezu ni' as 'can't remember' and i literally face palmed lol

on to the lyrics

in the land of pain

時の向こうに僕等は還る
遥かな故郷、君と行けるの
愛を見つけて超えて行くのは
惨劇の空

夢を見る荒野

why is our love always leading towards sorrow?
i faced you without being able to tell you
“don’t cry by yourself anymore”

with the world’s song that fades away
we journey towards the end
in that brief moment, i met with you
wishing for life to erode away

i can go on with you
to my distant birthplace that
certainly existed beyond time
across the night where love can’t be seen
is the illusionary sky

despite that i suffer every time i dream
i still laugh anyway
to what extent would be good to struggle
against the wind?

would it be good for this tragedy’s whereabouts
to exist in the silent night?
we knew that we can’t reach it
but we still ran through the darkness

does my goal exists beyond time?
someday, can i say i finally have reached it after so long?
because i continue living, please give me the light
in the illusionary sky

because i am always by your side
i put an end to the time of the world
despite that i want to embrace you
in the land of pain

i can go on with you
to my distant birthplace that
we return to beyond time
what finds and passes through love is
the sky of tragedies

the wilderness that dreams
