You guys need to learn to enjoy life a bit more. Haha.
Konno Hitoshi was not present for this live. Violin was pre-recorded.
Anyway, remember that this is a high energy anime live so they can't exactly do a lot of ballads. It's been better lately but there are haters who think Kalafina's songs aren't suited for such lives at all since they think they can't keep the high. There were a number who took Kalafina as toilet time/went out for tea/sat down and started chatting/fell asleep. Opinions and all, and they are allowed to like whatever they want to but that is pretty rude. That and Kalafina's songs are not well suited for waving the light stick to.
Of course, some rest time is needed in between, hence snow falling and oblivious, which also serves as a way to show off their vocals quietly (last year was seventh heaven and alleluia). They show that they can do more aggressive songs, ballads, and also that they can be cute during their MC. Oblivious hasn't been performed that much I think? KnK fans sounded pleasantly surprised. Most expected more Madoka songs, especially since ClariS was there (they performed behind a screen, but I saw one tweet claiming that some are saying those at the front could see them).
Ongaku was performed because it's a WOOHOOO GET HIGHHHHHHHH song, suited for a fes like this, especially since most of their anime songs don't really do as well there. They did it when they were in SG for AFA. I think they tend to try and put it in when they have around 7 songs or more to perform. I didn't really like Ongaku at first, but having experienced it live I can say I understand why they choose it as their climax song. It's... fun! The girls obviously have fun singing it, the audience enjoy it and the band members get to enjoy with their solos too. They all look like they're having so much fun when the perform it, it's infectious. It's the zodiacal sign of Kalafina and much like zodiacal sign, this is the only song that has a pose ☝ that fans take with the girls ☝☝☝. I think Ongaku was pretty well received, despite being a non-tie up. Now watch them troll us once again and choose to air Ongaku on TV.
Kalafina tends to do this kind of setlist from what I have observed:
Start high -> cool down a bit with a ballad -> climax with a chain of high -> end with a moving/happy song
So Mirai as an ender, is not really that unexpected. They've overdone alleluia recently so anison wise, it was either this, HnS or sprinter? Misterioso is more of an opener.
I like snow falling. It has lovely lyrics too. This was performed with only Sakurada's piano. So it was a really quiet song, with an even quieter audience. When the song ended and until oblivious began, all you could hear was the sound of the equipment running, in a huge stadium with thousands in the audience.
Putting the setlist thing aside, moments from the live according to twitter!
- Washizaki, as emcee, was chatting with Wakana over sharks, as a fellow shark loving person, and they were starting to plan their date trip to the aquarium when
jealous wife Keiko cuts in between them and says "dame!" This after having started zoning out when the two started their hardcore shark loving routine.
- Hikaru was really high during Ongaku and was running around, jumping up and down non-stop. I have no idea how she can sing like that (Keiko can sing like that too, Wakana wants to be able to and is working towards it), especially since she says she doesn't exercise at all, but I'm pretty sure she won quite a few fan's hearts that day. And according to some, Hikaru was in top condition, same as during the 7th Annie.
- New costumes! It's already up on their blog so I won't post it here.
