But Kalafina thrmselves don't want to be an Idol

So they are just artist with climbing career :goodjob:

Yea, the release of this songs are so close. Im personally excited with the release of new song while in the same time worried that they don't have enough rest.

Kinda offtopic but Yuki just revealed the origin of the Kalafina word, its reversed from the ancient romanian word "Anifalak" which mean "the one who defies the god" https://twitter.com/#!/Fion0806/status/ ... 3443359748
Kalafinaの名前の由来って何?と良く聞かれるんですが、実はあれ、ルーマニア古語の「Anifalak」の逆さ読みなんですよ。「神に背く者」という意味なんですって。

thanks to Kera-chan for finding out!

that;s so cool :nosebleed: :dote:

^Guess she discovered the word one day before she posted this on twitter and then thought it was cool and decided to say this was the meaning behind Kalafina's name LOL

Does the name Kalafina have any particular meaning? Who came up with it?

Kalafina: Our producer, Yuki Kajiura-san, is the one who came up with the name. It’s a coined word from the image of the music. We are often asked if the “Kala” part is taken from the film “Kara no Kyoukai,” but that’s not the case. I think the listeners could have their own interpretations.

Beware the date :ohoho:

If FJ obtained Kalafina status, though, imagine how epic the songs would be!

For that matter, it's a shame Kalafina isn't four-person anymore either...four-person sprinter live would be so amazing... :ayashii:

I personally prefer FJ to "stay in the shadows", so to speak, because if they become more popular like Kalafina, for instance, there would be the risk of their songs getting more "commercial", and maybe lose some of the quality and identity. I prefer things to be the way they are - except for the fact that FJ is in a zombie-like state :uh..: Yuki needs to find some time to bring back to life.

As to four-person Kalafina...yeah, I find myself dreaming with that, sometimes too. It would be amazing to see sprinter live with Maya.

Obviously I'll get punched by this. But if Kalafina need a fourth vocalist, she should be a vocalist with near Wakana-range so she can switch role with Wakana and Wakana can take some rest. Maya is a great vocalist, but like Hikaru, she leans more toward lower mezzo, so I think whether Maya still on Kala or not will not have a result in Wakana take a bit rest and Wakana still worn-out her voice, like now

And I agree with aero.senpai.
For where "Kalafina" word comes... It was cool in a way.

is she serious or did she make it up? @_@
maybe we need to ask a romanian friend
To second wintersviolet on this... The tweet was posted 8 hours ago... And I wonder what date and day is it today~? :XD:

PS. Kajiura's following tweets pretty much spilled it lol.

^It would be really silly if she just invented this now, more than five years after.

So....you're thinking of what should it mean when she tweeted it TODAY...? :ayashii:

Well...the first Kalafina's song I thinking of when I read this topic is Hikari no Senritsu, and then Lirica...lol. Don't Fairytale, Lirica, Hikari no Senritsu, Kotonoha have a vibe of childhood in themselves...? (Or it's only me..? :XD:) Kalafina's Totoro-like song sounds so interesting...lol. Let's wait and see.

Ahaha nope, not really. Check the date for today. You'd know whether Kajiura was being serious or not about her tweet regarding the origin of the word "Kalafina". I wasn't referring to "moonfesta" by the way. :ohoho:

'One who defies god' OMG that's so EPIC :stars:

But if it's that word in reverse, wouldn't that sort of mean, 'one who does not defy god'...cos it's backwards...? :confu:

Ah never mind...lol Yuki :XD:

Kalafina's only non-tie-in so far is Progressive, and I don't remember too many people applauding at its arrival. :leaf:

For what it's worth, Progressive and Utsukushisa are currently my #1 and #2 favorite songs of all time :innocent: :sohappy:

Why did she announce it so late? :XD: :XD:
