Kalafina new single"Alleluia"

I am getting both copies so I will upload Seventh Heaven and snow falling once I get them, probably on Tues. :dote: I am going to wait to listen to the full songs until my copy come as well. But I am looking forward to it.
 
I love how the single is fit perfectly for Autumn and Winter. It just fits the atmosphere so well. I love both songs so much. They are more than wonderful.
 
I still love Alleluia, especially since there's more Keiko. :ohoho: I do agree that this isn't as 'KnK' as the other 7 songs though....

dolce is very Christmas-y I agree... And not very Kalafina-ish. More like a standard choir composition. :/ Oh wells. It's still pretty decent I suppose.

fairytale with Strings is certainly very refreshing, but I still prefer the original (and Hikaru's original "sayonara" as well)

I think I prefer the Strings version of Kimi ga though, the strings really define the song anyway, and I love the climax at the end (although there was a part that was a bit too sudden, at around 3:10-3:15).

All in all, I'm really satisfied. :)
 
hmmmm, my thoughts:

alleluia - hm, it's... nice, but i do still think it sounds more generic than i'd like. i'd rather that seventh heaven was the "final" song of the KnK movie series.... imo, alleluia can't really compare :TdT: at least there are more keiko parts... for some reason, i get the impression that it'd sound more like a "kalafina" song if it was slower. i much preferred the 30-sec or so sample of this song that was released.

dolce - hm. too short... and the different parts of the song are linked together very haphazardly, it feels... idk how to put it? also it no longer sounds like an FE-type song :TdT: i also preferred listening to just the short 15-sec or so sample of this song.

fairytale acoustic - NOW THIS IS MY FAV TRACK. the added strings does wonders to this... especially in keiko's part :love: hikaru's "sayonara" is very nice and full of feeling... but i have to agree that i prefer her usual one (even though it wouldn't fit in this particular version :XD: )

Kimi ga acoustic - also very nice :stars: i don't have anything in particular to say about this track atm probably because i'm still stuck on fairytale ahahaha
 
When I first heard Alleluia, I thought, "YES! KEIKO FINALLY LEADS IN A SINGLE!!!! :sohappy: "

My favorite will always be Wakana, but seriously... it's baffling to think that Keiko hasn't had a lead in any single up until now! :omg:
 
Well, I've fully heard Alleluia and despite Keiko leading I thought it was 'meh'. Keiko's parts were nice, but after a couple of listens, reminded me too much of Mune no Yukue. I think I prefer her voice in TE TO TE TO ME TO ME and Yami no Uta. Even Kimi ga. Other than that, it was just too generic, but maybe it'll grow on me. :uh..:
Also, is it just me or is there less harmonizing when Keiko leads?

I hope to hear dolce soon, but since I can't download at college, I hope someone uploads the song somewhere.

@Spirica: I am pretty ok with this voice, and I think her deeper one would remove some of the happy atmosphere this song is supposed to have. I think you need to listen a few more times :) although I would prefer Wakana's voice not filtered (like it is), just like how Keiko's is, because now it sounds like its part of the chorus >_< (compare with Yuriko's part). The song might be not as good as I was expecting (fits more to FJ) but its still better than progressive.

I like Alleluia. It's nice and upbeat. It still stands out a lot compared to the other KnK songs, but perhaps the movie has a really happy ending?
Also, I was expecting more gospelish elements from the girls, but Yuriko got them all.

Still not sure on Dolce. I like the verses, but dislike the refrain. It sounds very random...? Like Kajiura didn't know what to write after the verse. Also, I think it would be better a capella.

Fairytale had a really nice arrangement. I also liked that Hikaru didn't yell Sayonara.

Kimi had a good arrangement too, but Wakana's vibrato irked me in the chorus.

Well, I somehow got the impression that Mirai Fukuin, being an epilogue and all (right?) would not be as dark and depressing as the others are. Not that I can immediately go and verify that because despite being in Japan, it appears that the only movie-theater I know of around here will not be screening the movie...
Still, the song goes along nicely with what I personally expect Mirai Fukuin to turn out as. And I'm certainly not expecting a downer ending.

Yeah, I think I just need to put it on repeat for a while. :) I probably shouldn't have been listening to Mune no Yukue right before playing Alleluia. Maybe that's why I thought Keiko's parts were similar. :desksweat:

Totally agree with the rest, though. I feel like, in a way, Alleluia got shafted in favor of Kimi no Gin no Niwa.

Thank you, Insidia! I have finally listened to dolce and oh boy would I love to do a choir arrangement of this. It sounds so much like one. :XD: I think as of right now I prefer dolce. It's simple, but pretty. :dote:
 
Resisting until my single arrives... The old songs can buoy me until then, I hope.
 
I'm really enjoying Alleluia, although like almost everyone else, I prefer Keiko's mysterious sounding voice than like this. But I really like the chorus! Alleluia~

dolce is...weird. I agree with Kowz, Kajiura seems to be writing this for the sake of making a song for a b-side.

fairytale live - marvelous! :nosebleed: I really like the strings on Keiko's part. It was very unique!

Kimi ga Hikari live - I really love Keiko's voice here. It was isn't as airy as she was in the recording, but isn't like her voice in Type Moon fes. I really enjoy it. On the other hand, I never as disappointed as this with Wakana's new singing technique. Her voice in the final stanza totally doesn't sound like she was in the recording, but like a chipmunk :/ she sounded like a little girl there. I'm disappointed because she actually can use her old voice if she wanted to, and her voice here doesn't fit the song at all.
 
I like that Kajiura-san is (still) experimenting with different sounds and song styles with Kalafina.

But that being said, I'm kind of disappointed. I like dolce more than Alleluia because of three things: (a) dolce has the elements of gospel music that I was supposedly expecting in Alleluia, (b) harmonies are more clearly heard and (c) vocals overall were more polished.

Alleluia has a very nice opening, but the rest of the song is pretty much "meh". Keiko finally has the lead in a main single, yet her delivery isn't as polished as when she's delivering harmonies where she sounds much better in her deeper voice. The melody is pretty generic, but I like that it's upbeat, which not a lot of Kalafina songs have been lately. This particular single didn't need it, though, and would probably sound much better as an 'epic ballad' like Red Moon was. Although, I do admit, it's a nice change of pace.

dolce is very soothing. Christmas bells with elements of choir music. The only thing I dislike is the sudden change from verse to chorus - as if something's missing. The song's really short, too. Almost too short.

Kimi ga Hikari ni Kaete Yuku Christmas live still isn't as good as the Seventh Heaven DVD. Keiko still doesn't use her deep voice and Wakana insists on closing her throat instead of the more 'open' voice she had before, and isn't quite as angelic. The lack of strings also disappoint me, because the strings actually make the song have more impact - which I appreciated during the final chorus.

Fairytale was ok. Strings in the beginning instead of vocals actually sounds great, but Hikaru's sayonara disappoints since that was the climax of the song.

I'm mainly disappointed by the lack of Hikaru solo in this single. She only gets one verse in Alleluia, and the rest her harmonies can barely be heard. :uh..:

Come to think of it, you're right - This sounds more like an FJ song than a Kalafina song.

hallelujah: lyrics? YAWN!!! melody? YAWN!!! the only thing i like is that keiko is a main vocal in this...totally disappointed. which is a shame since i love all the knk singles.... :blood:

dolce: ehh....i wouldn't listen to it often. maybe during xmas?? lol otherwise, this would be a track i would skip..
