Thank you Liana! :sohappy:

Does the booklet menthion that Hiromitsu Ishikawa arranged the strings for these 2 as well ?

@grunty: I dont agree that Wakana is dying but her high notes arent as good as in original recording. The arrangement was the same as the original song minus the drums.

For snow falling, I like it, its as good as the recording (and slitely faster I think :dote: )

lol George, I like your abbreviations. And yes, they are the same name. :dote:

No problem minna. I really love Alleluia, especially Hikaru's tiny solo part in it, the way she repeats the lines, and then fades at the end of it. Then the piano part after. It's just so pretty. (I laugh every time Keiko sings "yo-yo")

I am liking dolce a little more now. Especially the ending.

And it does remind me of Lillium from Elfen Lied. It's an okay song, I may have to get used to it.

I'm not really hearing the similarity to Lilium in dolce. The similarities between Lilium and Sapphire on the other hand are pretty significant. Some of the vocal melodies in Sapphire are almost identical to Lilium.

thank you so much liana~~ :sohappy:

ahhhh seventh heaven. i could feel myself getting quite emotional during this rendition as well :TdT: i agree with george - wakana isn't exactly dying, but she's not hitting all her notes perfectly anymore </3 but i really loved hikaru in this version. i was a bit disappointed that the instrumental didn't really change from the original versions, so overall i'd still prefer the overture ~ seventh heaven included in the live 5th anni cd. this is still lovely to listen to though

as for snow falling, it's still not a song i like to listen to. but this rendition is very nice, and i have nothing else to say on that :XD:

overall i'd have to say that fairytale acoustic was my favorite from all the alleluia songs

@reaper: I think I just hear it slightly. I guess it's just the same sadness that I feel while listening. heh It's just one of those songs.

alleluia - I like how Keiko leads most of it. I don't like how it sounds so j-pop-like, and the I'm sure it will grow on me over time, though

dolce - Love it. It gives off a mysterious feeling...I imagine that everything is dark and misty, but still you can see a faint light in the distance. I just wish it were longer.

seventh heaven - not sure how much I like this arrangement, I can't put my finger on it

snow falling - really really like this live...probably my favourite out of the three that have been released.

fairytale - I see why everyone loves this arrangement now. IT'S AMAZING AHH. Love love love everything except Hikaru's "sayonara..." yes, I actually like it in all the other lives

kimi ga - yay Hikaru's high harmony is finally not off studio musix...? /is whacked but I really like this live too~ Keiko didn't start out in that "cutesy(?)" voice she has in most other than the vol.3 live

Hmm. 9th on the daily oricon for the 1st of Oct. Not doing too well. I'd better place my orders soon.

Well, "dolce" is the cw.
This song is the ED in the screening of "extra chorus."
The meaning of "dolce," as perhaps everyone knows,
in Italian,
is sweet (amai), sweet (kanabi), gentle...it is that kind of meaning.

I was meaning translation of the whole post (in case she says sth interesting about alleluia too), but anyway ^^

the beginning of alleluia reminds me of sing a song (up until the guitar comes in)

Thank you, Liana!

I like Seventh Heaven really much. True that there is not much difference between this and recorded one, but I really love the song :dote:
I wouldn't say that Wakana is dieing, but I would say she is straining. Otherwise, beautiful.

I like Snow Falling, it was nice to hear. But it is not on my regular playlist as well, so I can't give a detailed comment.

Anyway, those were beautiful lives, I hope we get more of them like this.

Finally got around to listening to all the songs.

Alleluia - I suspect it could still grow on me. For now, I think it's good but not excellent. I really like the chorus even if Wakana sounds a bit different--it's not Hikaru-in-Signal levels of distracting. Like some, I barely noticed Hikaru during my first listen. But when I noticed her during the second time... holy crap, I think her part might be my favourite now. Basically, if I put this song on in the background, I don't really notice it--I'd need to really sit up and listen to enjoy it.

Dolce - It's beautiful but way too short. I think the sample made it sound better (and more ambitious) than it actually was.

Without a doubt, the live performances were the highlights of this release.

Fairytale - I love this take on it. Of course, I love the original, but I like how this version really showed off the girls' voices. The harmonies are excellent, and this quiet arrangement really brings them out. I'm among those who liked Hikaru's original "sayonara," but I appreciate the change. Keeps things fresh. Also, I was surprised by Wakana's soft voice--usually, even on ballads, she'd have this kind of power behind it. But her voice completely fit this arrangement. In fact, it worked better here than in...

Kimi ga - Still an excellent performance, but it wasn't quite as unique as Fairytale. Keiko sounds very good. I think Wakana's softer voice didn't work quite as well here--it's sweet, but it doesn't make the song fresh like in Fairytale.

Seventh Heaven - OMG, Keiko sounds amazing here! Better than the studio, imo. Way more emotion. In fact, I think I prefer this version over the studio. Sure, Wakana's falsetto got a bit strained by the end, but I think this version holds a bit more emotional punch.

Snow Falling - Girls sound nigh flawless. Sadly, that's not enough to make me love the song. I think I still like the After Eden Live best, flawed as it was, because the arrangement was at least somewhat interesting. Anyhow, for fans of the song, this is a splendid performance, but it hasn't knocked Snow Falling back into my regular playlist.

Firstly, thanks to everyone for sharing.. I don't think I'm appreciated this single enough to buy it..- -"...but..well.. hereis some of my review.

I agree with you about the similarity between Lilium and Sapphire, but I think that melody line in the hook of Sapphire is also similar to in the hook of Dolce. But when I compare that line in Dolce and Lilium, it doesn't sound that similar...but still...I think both of them share some similarity with Sapphire..lol.

Your description sounds so nice.. I love it but I have quite different image in my mind..lol. Dolce for me isn't dark, but it's misty but bright.. Like..it's a foggy morning that you can't see anything clearly. Everything is just blur and pale behind the misty atmosphere..., but still beautiful and mysterious...>.<...

When listened to the sample, Alleluia sounds very generic-J-pop-like...O_O. Doesn't sound much like Kalafina's songs or even Yuki's songs... but Keiko's line make me think of Sprinter in some way.. There is some part that really similar to Seiya as well. And I like Keiko's part in the full version. Not that I like her singing style in this song... my favourite Keiko's singing style is still an aggressive&powerful singing style like in Houseki, Ongaku, etc. But I love Keiko in this song more than in most of her ballads...

Love Hikaru in this song and I like Wakana's parts the least because I feel that it's the most generic-J-pop part of the song. Is it only me who feel that Yuriko's Kajiurago sounds so piercing in some parts...O_O? (For example, around 2.00 and when she's backup for Wakana's line.) But the combination of Keiko+Hikaru&Yuriko before the end is so gorgeous..love it.

Dolce doesn't sound as sweet and lighthearted as I supposed. It sounds more...church-like and ethereal.. At the start, it sounds like a song in the church or sth. like that. BTW, the shift between the verse and the hook is kind of...weird...=____=". Instead of rich and creamy Dulce de leche, I think of a pastel rainbow colour cotton candy which is lighter and more fluffy or sth. like that.. (I don't like cotton candy, but it's what popping in my mind when I heard this song..lol.)

Kimi wa Hikari ni Kaete Yuku... Umm... no comment. It isn't that their singing is bad but I just don't like Wakana's&Keiko's singing style in this version... The music is good though..

Love Fairytale... Wakana voice in this song sounds so sweet and mellow, as well as the music. Really really love the instrumental part. I wish that Keiko's solo would sound more gentle like Wakana did in her part. But the string here is really beautiful. Wakana's Kajiurago sounds so....TT...you know what I mean... Hikaru's Sayonara go well with the song but the difference made me feel a bit weird.. I may feel more familiar with it after listen to it more... The instrumental part at the end is really romantic...love it so much.

For Snow Falling and Seventh Heaven, there is no outstanding arrangement IMO.. The faster bridge in Snow Falling gives a feel of snow squall or sth. like that, but still doesn't stand out that much. I like their singing esp. soft and sweet Hikaru's&Keiko's singing in Seventh Heaven. I feel that Wakana did very well in Seventh Heaven as well in all other part except those high note parts which are like... I think it's as bad as or even worse than her Hikari Furu recording. I also love the strings in Seventh Heaven.

Seventh Heaven - I like the arrangement. A very enjoyable listen. Not much to say except good job, Kalafina.

snow falling - I prefer their After Eden live performance rather than this, particularly because Wakana sounds so...chipmunk-y here. She can go back to her older voice - she does it in FJ lives - so why not? Oh, Waa-chan.

Alleluia i think it will be better arrangement if this become a FJ song instead Kalafina so that kaori can sing hikaru part which i think is most fit on this song.

dolce more like choir church song to me ..
