Kalafina LIVE TOUR 2015-2016 "far on the water"

what about "to the beginning" then, "kimi no gin no niwa" or even "kagayaku sora no shijima ni wa"? Do titles become mouthful only when they are in english ? :XD:

Title for the 2015 tour has been announced:
Kalafina LIVE TOUR 2015 “far on the water”

Album title? Or just a tour named after the song.

Hopefully not. I'm kinda iffy on the feel of this song. Might need another listen, but it was somewhat meh for me >_<

It's possible tha it's a name of album. Far on the water probably won't have a single release... In the past only album and single songs had a live tour.
Far on the water isn't attractive for me. Now I can't remind melody of song. RYB is more characteristic

I somehow doubt 'far on the water' is the name of a new album, but then again I can't think of a better reason why they'd name the tour after it :confu: If it is the new album name then it sure breaks the 'short and snappy' tradition of previous names :ayashii:

So far all album title songs, apart from "seventh heaven" (which I love) have been disappointing (I talk about Red Moon, Eden, Consolation) compared to the other album-exclusive songs, so maybe "far on the water" is an improvement, since I dont remember disliking the song, it was just 'not bad', and its not like we will miss a song if "far on the water" is first. Maybe the logic behind its choice is that its the only english-titled new song ?

It's just a bit strange because it kind of feels like what would have happened if 'Consolation' had been called 'Yume no Daichi' instead, especially given the similar circumstances (no single, Historia theme song, etc.) :XD: Maybe it is the English thing? Or maybe it'll actually get a single release and the tour is named for the single? Who knowwws...

Red moon? Disappointing? Surely you kid! That song oozes atmosphere. Kalafina lives have always had a unique atmosphere but I would say red moon will probably pull you into their world the most. The song is so powerful and so grand! Especially when you hear it live. I couldn't help but drop my jaws in awe. It's long but never gets boring as there's always something new to listen to in each section. The lyrics are very dark too. Probably one of their darkest?

I just find far on the water unsuited for an album title. It's hard to remember, especially for the Japanese. It won't even look nice on the cover since it's so long. =/

Its surely dark and powerful like you say but after some listens it gets a bit boring, as its repeatitive and long (especially the bridge, its so long you neerly forget the song is upbeat). I havent seen it live as in IRL live so I cant tell how it sounds like, and BDs afaik dont transmit the real feeling of being there.

I think the forum disagrees with you, as its currently joint first in the CPM ranking thread.

Also Red Moon is easily their best title track for me. Whilst I enjoyed them a lot beforehand, I think the first time I heard Red Moon was when I truly fell in love.

FotW isn't that great from what I recall, but I've only listened once.

^ You talk as if all have it high up but only about half have it in their lists, and from these half have it high up (its first in your list because first places gives too much handicap), and anyway I never tried to brainwash anyone with my opinion, I just expressed myself.

voted for it in high place (1-5): shiro, Smoshes, crystalpink, HimeW, you, aki, moonlight4, spirica rose
in their list but low position (7-10): Kirito, casarina26, Lord Starfish, Nighmare, Yukito,
not in the list of: popsock, me, ritardando, nodame89, Kohaku, chrisgarci, adhara, cerise, lapis, takfogger, sprinterXkyrie,

red moon could've been really good but imho it gets super loud too fast and is too long for what Kajiura is offering with the choppy quiet/loud/quiet/loud/etc arrangement. keiko ending ftw tho.

Still more people have voted for it than haven't. I've been meaning to add a little thing of most voted songs to my starting post, actually.

I honestly can't find anything wrong with Red Moon as a song though. Seventh Heaven takes about 3 hours too long to actually get anywhere, but is beautiful when it does, Consolation is pretty good but is outclassed by other songs of similar style and Eden just bores me.

Like a lot of people, red moon was the song that made me fall in love with Kalafina. Like head over heels fall in love, because it was THAT good. I actually quite like Eden too due to its upbeatness compared to the other somber or darker title tracks, though I wold say it is their weakest title track since its melody is repetitive. On the other hand, consolation was fantastic, and never bored me, and that goes for the album too.

I would usually consider the title track usually be one of the most important tracks in their albums since they open with them. The title tracks set the bar and tone for the rest of the album, so it is a must for them to be excellent (the exception being seventh heaven since it's the last song on the album). All of Kalafina's title tracks, even Eden, have atmosphere, and has a quality which, to quote Hatouchan, "pulls you into their world".

That's what worries me about far on the water. I actually really like the song, but I don't think it has the atmosphere to be a title track. In any case, we'll see. But I'm happy anyway since it hints to a 5th album. It's been far too long.

for once I actually agree with George. red moon is actually one of my least favorite track from red moon album (the other being Haru wa Kogane which is like, my least favorite Kalafina song ever). the song is just way too long but it doesn't get anywhere. I haven't watched it live either but from 3 red moon live videos I can safely say that I still don't like it. I feel like the girls always sang it without putting any desperation into their voice that's actually the main point of the song. Tbh I only like the last 2 minutes of red moon. I'd entirely give red moon up if it's not for the last Keiko part. And I forgot one thing. The song is way too looonngg for something that Kajiura wrote with Keiko's final Kajiurago as the main point of the song. No wonder the best (or imo the only good) part of the song is Keiko's final kajiurago. The rest, as grunty eloquently said, is choppy quiet-loud-quiet-loud mash up of instruments and vocals. For a song with desperation as the main theme, Hanataba is much more solid and beautiful, even with the simple (as in, not too much) melody lines. On side notes, the songs that are really "Kalafina" according to them in their interviews are oblivious, Kyrie, and magnolia since oblivious is the "root" of Kalafina music. Digital, mysterious sounding songs that make people wonder who the singers are. I miss this type of Kalafina song :(

Eden is an even choppier version of red moon. consolation is a bunch of their other songs mashed into one with loud strings, drums, and guitar. No. I still like the chorus because I like Kyrie's chorus and those two are basically the same.

seventh heaven, on the other hand, is a masterpiece. The song soothes you and at the same time makes you cry a river. I really like the evolving feeling the song brings, how it builds your emotion, (especially when you pay attention to the lyrics or watched KnK) and it calms you down again when the song ends. imo it's the only Kalafina song so far that gives you a feeling of watching a drama. it has prologue, climax, anticlimax, and epilogue. As I'm a person who decides whether I like the song or not by how good the song is in affecting my emotion, I still think that the best (and only) Kalafina album titular track is seventh heaven.

After seeing red moon live at ACen, I actually started really liking the song. I would listen to it more. I never used to before that, since I agree with it being too long. But now I remember the power of the song due to that live. I closed my eyes for a minute during the live and imagined myself in a PV (which we did not get for red moon, or now that I think of it, any of the title tracks. Seventh Heaven is the only one of the albums that got one) with them singing and I was in the center. Yes, I opened my eyes and they were right in front of me, still amazed. consolation I enjoyed live but not really listening to the song over and over, same with Eden though I like it. seventh heaven is amazing, but I have seen Kara no Kyoukai as well.

Anyways, I agree about far on the water not being the title of the album, but it is kind of neat for the tour, since they only have sung it live once before. I like the song, but I think it would be better as an ending song, like symphonia was for After Eden and Yume no Daichi for Consolation.

i think far on the water is only the name of the tour and will be the last track on the new album like the Historia songs always are. but yeah i never listen to red moon or eden. i only listen to seventh heaven and occasionally consolation for album titles. :XD:
i just don't understand the point of having a tour at this time...unless i get to hear my beloved lapis live

I hope we get explanation soon.

Maybe it's really only the name of song. But when Kalafina release new album they would have next tour? It's only 5 lives... Consolation tour had much more lives (I counted 16) so it's possible that is ONLY name of song.

But I don't understand - why it's separate tour for only one song? FOW probably won't have a single release and will be a part of new album.

Last year was LIVE tour without name - but the main theme of tour was single Alleluia (Dolce as opening song, in the middle acoustic Seventh Havean, etc. and Alleluja in the end).

Maybe this tour will be summation of past works for RHH (storia, symphonia, yume no daichi)?

From album live tour I except more lives and second perfmormance in Budokan (or other large place)

Here are the song that I believe will make it to the album

  1. Alleluia (maybe dolce as overture)
  2. Kimi no gin no niwa
  3. Misterioso
  4. heavenly blue
  5. believe
  6. ring your bell
  7. far on the water
I think it is very possible that they will release new album in Autumn, unless Kajiura doesnt want to write 6-7 new songs for the album. In that case, far on the water will be the the title song.

I'd say all of those are pretty much a given, unless they decide to say that since the first four were on the Red/Blue albums they can just skip them here. It does seem like an awful lot of tie-in songs for one album though... I'm assuming dolce would be included so that's eight tracks in total? Half the album? I mean it's not impossible considering Seventh Heaven was 50% tie-in material and only six brand-new songs, but none of the albums they've released since then had quite that many.

seventh heaven was their debut so the tie-ins were understandable. Like Lord Starfish, I doubt that the tie-ins included in the BEST albums will appear in their 5th one (I've mentioned this before).

I just don't understand why Kalafina up until now still insists on not putting some of the B-sides onto their albums. Because that means the chances of them ever performing those songs live during the tour or for the BD releases are very low. And worse still when the B-sides are actually absolute gems like Tsuioku and lapis. :(
