Kalafina in Budokan 28 February - 01 March 2015

I'd be optimistic for the Budokan shows. Unless it coincides with another major release for them, it's going to be a 'special occasion' thing where everyone involved should have time to prepare and rest properly. Production-wise, they should pull out all the stops. Some unusual/interesting guest vocalists/musicians for instance.

Just lately they've been on the road promoting two 'best of' albums: lots of travelling, live performances with backing tracks instead of the live band, endless interviews and "please buy our shiny stuff!" photo shoots...if that's not the most repetitive and exhausting aspect of their job, I don't know what is. :imdead: A couple of big shows at a high-profile venue on the other hand is sooo different from that.

It's a bit early to be making predictions, but I'll try anyway: there could be a home video DVD/blu-ray of the shows to mark the occasion. A nice little something for those of us who can't go...

Congrats to the lucky people who did get tickets though!

^By the way, it seems the general seats are already sold out and they have added standing tickets.

Yikes. Already?! Standing doesn't sound so bad though - crowds at Japanese shows seem to be better-behaved than the people who attend music shows in my part of the world...plus there are fewer tall people who are likely to spoil your view (and if it's standing, you can always move to an area where the other folks are more polite/shorter!).

Best of luck to those of you trying to get a ticket - I wish I could afford the plane fare for this!

Sold out before general sales even began! For both days! Allayed any fear that they won't be able to fill the Budokan as they usually do halls with 3-5k capacity. My friend has been trying for the last 5 lotteries or so without any luck so it seems it really is in high demand. I've already gotten my tickets. Apparently, for standing tickets, they allocate a specific spot for you to stand, and there is a chance that you don't get full view of the stage; hence the lower price of 6.8k vs the regular 7.8k yen.

^ I was actually surprised that a few tickets were still available at the venue when I saw Minori Chihara at the Budokan on 18 November 2014, given that she has previously done solo shows at Saitama Super Arena which is over double the capacity. Enjoy the shows, it's a good (and legendary) venue.

Hey guys, I missed the pre-sales etc. because I was not planning to go to Japan in February but looks like I will be there just around the end of February. If anyone snagged extra tix I'd be willing to buy them.

BTW I've seen Maaya Sakamoto at Budokan; it's not great sound-wise but I did have a good time.

Well, if anyone got them, gratz. I actually have the plane booked, and... well, I will be doing tourism there, not bad either.

I'm open to reselling, although I highly doubt I'll find something that's not bloody high. Not a lot of hope form the beginning.

All tickets, including standing, are officially gone!

Congratulations to Kalafina for selling out both of their concerts at Budokan!

At this point, I would say wait for the initial desperate batch of auctions to be over first and see if the price settles. My friend got his at 22k for one day. I do see one at a non auction site going for 14,500 yen. I do not have any experience in dealing with that site though, and I do not see a rep system. 立見 (standing) tickets have also been flooding the net, somewhat.

^ over 25,000 yen ticket prices on Yahoo auctions (which I access via fromjapan.co.jp) was my last hope for Animelo Summer Live 2014 so I just said no.

Just got my seats. Really really shitty seats. I'm basically at the 2nd last row on the 2nd floor for one of them, and the other one is also on the 2nd floor, J. At least they are both relatively close to the center.

^ That's sad. My travel agent has warned me if they only get bad seats (e.g. one day of Animelo Summer Live 2012 when Chiaki Ishikawa was on, but I was still more than happy to attend).

Oh don't get me wrong. I'll definitely attend. I even have my flights and accommodation booked. But I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't the least bit disappointed.

As per the FC mail, Akagi Rie will be performing on both days.
