Kalafina in Budokan 28 February - 01 March 2015

Very interesting info! to continue your last sentence, lets hope that Kajiura will come up with more unique melodies for the Kalafina songs, because after Magia, the one or the other song start reminding of older songs of them oor of her, in melody parts, arrangement, or mood. They are not very unique as Kajiura's songs used to be ( I consider unique all "new" see-saw ones, The ones she did for gundam and as collab with other vocalists [kaori hikita, marina inoue, etc], the FJY ones, seventh heaven album, and the album-new ones from consolation)

You could say this is a problem with almost all of Kajiura's current anime output. I mean, let's face it, ever since KnK all of her anime stuff has sounded the same, with only the subtle nuances separating one work from another.

I'll have to respectfully disagree. Don't want to start another bickering session since I am in my happy place so let's just leave it at that.

It seems Keiko has finally calmed down from the live. She spent Monday listening to the recordings of their performance and watching the videos to see just how the audience listened to and reacted to their performance. Now she's having muscle aches lol.

Here's an interesting picture for the star effect at Budokan:

^can't wait to see those in BD <3
Kajiura also blogged that the thought of disbanding Kalafina has not crossed her mind! She was already thinking of where to bring Kalafina next as she watched them perform at the budokan. As the girls have said, budokan is not the end. It's just one stop in their journey. 10th anniversary, here we come~
yes!!! but how about See-Saw? they're not yet disbanded but it looks like they're already dead.:imdead::comeback:

Kalafina was in a different segment of Mezamashi than usual. The host who attended both the Kalafina 2014 tour and budokan wasn't around =/ New video~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZxCL9FrPEIk

There were some interesting parts though.

Hikaru said, Kajiura told them to go put up a huge flag at budokan~

And leave a mark they did. They were there, and they rocked it.

In Kajiura's segment, she said that initially, she had no intention of doing lives. Since there was a lot of overdubbing in their songs, she thought "it's definitely impossible" and said that she didn't want to. It was the staff who said "let's give it a try", "let's just give it a try and then decide after". She thought it was kinda horrible at the beginning lol. At which point the other guy says "right. this is a part we(you) don't wanna listen to" and covers his ears for the girls who also seem to be in the room.

Kajiura also says that she thinks their music is not something that would appeal to everyone (not something 10 out of 10 people would find interesting). There is the feeling that "we're finally at budokan" but... "this is not the final goal".

It must be epic performance! Girls really enjoy their first Budokan performance :shy: Dresses was beautiful (eh I want to see blue dresses too, everywhere are only red dresses)... Wow, and they was so close to public on Blue Day. But why it's still no announcement of dvd/bd release?
Ok, Budokan isn't a final so what is next?

Well, they already did one or several LisAni! live(s) at Budokan, I think they would have been well less confident for this huge one-man live unless this.

Now, Kajiura-san, next step: Tokyo Dome! (and not only the City Hall!):XD:

Of course, they were earlier at Budokan, but it wasn't only Kala live. They were also at Saitama Super Arena (Animelo) and Yokohama Arena (Animax)....
It's hard to compare live like Lisani (only 6 Kala songs) to own solo live (21 songs), when people go on live to see only them.

Of course, (I know you would say that ^^) but at least, they weren't totally lost in front of all this huge space, they had already done it before.

Reading the Bessatsu Kadokawa has been eye opening as well. I'm still only at Wakana's first section. She goes through some of the troubles she had with Kalafina, including the period that she had the most difficulty with (around After Eden, mostly with "Eden", but includes the songs after that as well), where she more or less lost her direction and her confidence. By the way, it was only until Hikarifuru that she finally got past her problems and found herself again. I can't remember where I read it but this information isn't new. That identity crisis is something all three of them went through, although if memory serves, both Hikaru and Keiko got past it way earlier than Wakana. Wakanaaaaaaa. Thank you for not giving up when you thought you couldn't do Eden. Kalafina wouldn't be here if she did!

This just cements the mental image I have of Kajiura being more than just their producer and boss but also a mother figure to the girls helping them through some tough times. And Wakashark <3 I'm so happy to hear that she's hopefully gotten past the toughest stage and can focus on the future. :touched: :TdT:

*goes and rolls in Kaji-fam feels* :wai:

Then perhaps I should add to it. Wakana found Hikarifuru to be a difficult song, but she knew that if could get it right, she would finally be okay with herself. Kajiura, too, seemed to have felt the same way and said to her "let's try and perfect this", "let's overcome this, one hurdle at a time".

I'll probably translate a bit of red day mc about Natsu no Ringo and hikaru/wakana's different ways of singing it soon.

そのライブ「Kalafina LIVE THE BEST 2015 “Red Day” & “Blue Day”」が、

「Kalafina LIVE THE BEST 2015 “Red Day”&“Blue Day”」。

1回目のMC(演奏間のトーク)へ。

Keiko

『Fate/stay night』
