I wonder if part of the 'problem' with Keiko being photogenic or not is down to the fact that she has this wonderful smile, but the official photographs/PR expect her to look 'cool' and serious all the time. [shrugs] Her voice really is unique and awesome though...the first time I heard her sing, it reminded me a bit of Lacuna Coil (whose vocalist sounds fantastic in the lower alto-ish registers). Anyway. Before I go off-topic...

Don't get me wrong; part of the reason why Kala have such a great vibe to them is the way all three of their voices work together. I'm okay with talking endlessly about sharks and dinosaurs too, 'yknow? ^_^ :hero:
 
Keiko's just naturally blessed with perfect features :tea: but at least she has a sweet, honest personality too, and that's more important~

I would say Kalafina is one of my favourite bands of all time (the other being FictionJunction :ohoho: ) not just because I love their songs and singing, but also because I love each of the girls' personalities - Keiko's honesty and down-to-earth personality (but also her cute tsundere side :shy: ), Hikaru's sweet, kind, gentle character :shy: and Wakana's crazy vivacious, bright, boisterous hoyden-ness :ohoho:

They just come across as very genuine, relatable people, which can't always be said for others in the music industry both in Japan and around the world...

When the singers/musicians are more down-to-earth and 'relateable', it makes a real difference...to me, anyway. I'm sure someone's individul personality and outlook have an important bearing on how they express themselves musically, and of course it means a lot to the fans when they engage with them through blogs and so forth.

Although they're an instrumental band, MONO are one of my favourites because they regularly post Twitter and FB updates, and have often stated how much they enjoy touring and playing live because it allows them to connect with the fans.

I can't remember when I first hear it mentioned, but I believethat that Keiko's the tomboyish tsundere one of the three? That clinched it for me really. Sadly, I read somewhere that she doesn't like cats much...but eh, nobody's perfect so I can let that slide. :innocent:

Yep, she did. I think she always attends them? I find it really cute how Hikaru goes to the YK lives to watch her "seniors" perform. She always comes away feeling very awed/inspired by their performances and wishes she can carry those feelings with her and give the same atmosphere to the audience in the Kalafina lives. :dote:

About the same here. :plot: Hikaru-さん's actually 2 years & 3 days older than myself to be a bit more exact... so very easy for me to remember hers. :ayashii:
