Kalafina 3rd Album「After Eden」

I heard rumours of a leak this weekend, it will most likely happen, but just giving a heads up. My Japanese friend says that he knows of a few people who have the physical cd so fingers crossed we get it soon. I'll keep a lookout.
 
^I was actually waiting for this to happen. I mean, the same happened with Magia (it leaked on the Saturday before the actual release). So maybe tomorrow I'll be able to loop Eden (daaaaamn, I'm extremely addicted to it now).
 
NO i am too. That song just lifts me up. Hopefully we get it, I need this album in my life.

Okay, I've finally decided to listen to ALL the samples.

Eden - First of all, why is everyone comparing this to Here We Stand? This is in 3/4 (waltz) time, as opposed to HWS's 4/4 time, and the chord progression is completely different! :confu: Anyway, I love it. The guitar bg is gorgeous, and Hikaru+Keiko harmony is wonderful :shy:

Sandpiper - This does remind me overwhelmingly of Dreamcatcher, with some Lotus thrown in :ayashii: Wakana is a little loud, and it sounds relatively...flat to me so far.

In Your Eyes - Now THIS reminds me of Disney :ohoho: Love it. This really screams "Guitar solo upcoming!" for me, and the bass is awesome. Hikaru sounds lofty and joyful :dote:

Listened to Destination Unknown again just to imagine Sacchan singing it :plot: Destination Unknown is a giru song, Destination Unknown is a giru song~

Neverending - Was Jr on ukelele for this one? It sounds like something from Miyake Shinji! :XD: Does also sound a bit like HnS, true. I hope that Koichi-san gets to be on acoustic guitar here.

Kotonoha - I think this is sort of the successor to Utsukushisa. Reminds me a little of something vintage FJ YUUKA, too. Hikaru's 'hontou wa' implies very good things to come :touched:

Magnolia - I think this was a Red Moon leftover. Reminds me of the Fantasia opening/closing in atmosphere and arrangement, but also reminds me of Ongaku in the rather bland melody line. I think there's a guitar solo in that one, though.

Mune no Yukue, vintage See-Saw~I can just hear Chiaki singing it! :dote:

Symphonia - I can hear Kore-chan uh, Koichi-san in the bg definitely! :waii: So the added part is another verse, then...and probably a flute solo too...

So, standouts:

Eden, In Your Eyes, Destination Unknown, Neverending (kinda), Kotonoha, and Mune no Yukue (kinda). Really looking forward to Destination Unknown and Eden the most :stars:
 
I decided to listen to in your eyes, destination unknown, and magnolia (and that's it until I get the cd heh) but for in your eyes i'm not sure. I think it's very different and Hikaru sounds really different in it as well. I do like how she sings "In Your Eyes" in the beginning though.

destination unknown: has some Magia elements in it, and I think it will take me a little while to love this one, like it did for Yami no Uta. But I did really like Keiko's voice in it.

magnolia: loved it. I think this will be a favorite. Since I love the arabian/egyptian sound, and it has a good feel to it that I want to get up and dance around. hehe Can't wait for the full version. (I wish Yuki would produce a full cd of all the instrumentals of her vocals, or at least Kalafina's.)

I will of course post my full review when it comes out. :sohappy:
 
my after eden will probably take longer to ship, since i ordered the le record to ship at the same time. now i kinda regret doing that, but the shipping was just too much :uh..:
 
^^^ speaking of kalafina le record...i haven't seen a picture of the cover. i haven't gotten mine yet. it better not be the same picture as the re one :knife: coz in all the pictures of the record i've seen, they've all been the same picture.

anyways, the calendar looks huge. dunno if i should get it. i do have a credit of 1931 yen on amazon jp.... :ayashii:

umm...i kinda like the regular picture..this one looks.. :blood: but, it comes in a fancy box, i guess. tshirt is purple? whoa.
 
it comes in a box?? man, no wonder shipping was soooo expensive for that thing. hardcover + box + tshirt. yikes. well, at least the picture is different. i agree, it looks kind of..weird. wakana looks even more uncomfortable than the regular edition one hahahaha

hmmm. i just prefer the RE one. they look much better in that one. i mean, the colors do look better in the LE one haha :ohoho: i'm excited for the box it comes in :sohappy: LOL

mine's at my aunt's place. hence the picture hahaha i want it NAUUUU :dote: :cry:

Really? I prefer that one, actually; I like the dresses more, and the hems actually seem to be sown properly. I still can't get over the hem on Keiko's dress on the last one, since that was an extremely unprofessional mistake.

That's how it usually is with Engrish, though. :ayashii: Though I agree they should at least check it's the correct English before producing it. It's not hard. At all. So why don't they do it?
