Kalafina 18th single "One Light" for Arslan Senki [confirmed]

I like Mirai, but snow falling is kind of blah. (Especially when you live in a state where it snows a lot. heh) But what about misterioso with Kimi no Gin? Though maybe that was an a-side #2? lol Yes, I preordered, but that's because I will remain with Kajiura and Kalafina pretty much no matter what. (Sorry for the earlier digression, I was just stating what Daiima kind of did about Kalafina being a whole with the three girls. But yes, let's get back on track.) I think the covers will be great because of the promo pic, maybe the light will be in different positions and so with the girls? That would be cool. And I did see that George about it being an uplifting song, I was just speculating because of the outfits and the one light appearing in the darkness.

Am I the only person here who actually likes Mirai and Snow Falling? They're not the best, but I really like them. The first one, as Credens Justitiam, fills me with happy feelings. And the second one, with nostalgic ones. I wouldn't mind having songs like that, although dark ones are always my favourite.

^ Well Snow Falling is always good to listen to if you need something calming. And I like Mirai, esp the refrain. And HnS is always a consistent top 3 Kala song for me. Felt all warm and fuzzy after Kajiura made that magnum opus comment.

Regarding my earlier post #167- I realise I sort of created (or helped) a shitstorm. Yikes. Gomen nasai

I do love Wakana and Hikaru as well, too.

I was about to say- mirai and snow falling are among my top kalafina songs! Snow falling is an all time favorite for me whenever it snows here in New York :3 I love listening to it in headphones as I walk through the silent snow scenery ... Especially at "kasa no kage de sotto.. Etc" wow the vocals and the cello!!! And the high harmonies

Mirai is one of my fave 'happy' songs of theirs (HnS and Love Come Down being the others) but Mysterioso felt like a Mirai v2.0 so it didn't leave so much of an impression on me. The short a capella snippet of it that they did in Paris last year was really nice though.

snow falling is a great song, but every time they sing it live it sounds like they're struggling. Hikari Furu on the other hand is their most enjoyable slow/tranquil songs and always comes across as effortless.

What's strange for me though is how Mata Kaze ga Tsuyokunatta sounds so defiant in a dark and powerful sort of way, but the English line "weigh your anchor…and dream on!" is really optimistic. I guess that the meaning and vibe of a song is more nuanced than you might expect from just listening to it for the first time. Which is why those snap judgements from non-fans (that talk of how their songs are "funeral dirges" according to 2ch or some other message board) make think that they just haven't paid close attention to the songs.

Back on-topic: I expect One Light will have at least one bonus track that's a deliberate contrast, just like their singles often do, so there should be *something* on there for all of us. Which makes me wonder where Far on the Water fits into all this, since it's the 'other' new song that's been given a public airing. Hmm...

I strongly disagree with this and always will : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjj5WbtenTM 0:26-0:30. Wakana's screech. Again I am not in habit of starting anything but this is my opinion. The rest of the song may be ok but it's far from effortless.

@Liana_Ilia you know me well from HtA :) I think Kajiura has great talent and I have great hopes but I feel the commercial/music dynamics she lets herself be drawn into may not work well for her. This argument will not be repetitive but only spot on as long as it stands, IMO.

As for my comment, I was not being constructive but I was just complaining (im gonna refrain from saying something that might annoy people)
And I was commenting about it being a 'serious issue' because people were talking about it a lot and debating on it enough to make me assume it was one.

Anyway, back on topic, it seems I'm the only one who has snow falling as one of their favourite songs. But yeah, Mirai is as boring af.

As I've mentioned before, I don't like Mirai because I never liked Credens. Hikari Furu I didn't really care for until I saw it live at Japan Expo, Wakana did a fantastic job of it there I must add. She was on great form the whole time from what I could hear, although I'm expecting people to find something to complain about when the documentary comes out.

I actually forgot about Misterioso. Oops. snow falling is just dull.

This has nothing to do with the recent shitstorm or anything either, I've disliked both snow falling and Credens/Mirai since I first heard them on release. They've consistently been at the bottom of my list for Kalafina songs all the way up until HB/Believe came out.

Btw, when is this song going to start airing on the show? Might plan to catch up or tune in for that week :stars:

Should be the first week of July, since that's the start of the Summer 2015 anime season. And you should catch up to it - Arslan Senki so far is a very solid show.

^Thanks for the info! I am looking forward to it too and staying positive. I will catch up on the show soon. (Been dealing with some things.)

As for recent comments, I will stick with Yuki and the girls for as long as they keep making music, I even remember a lot of Anime Boston (which has been kind of hard to remember though the timeline that I had, except for the Kala stuff of course) and remembering that I was just too happy to be in the same room with them, let alone a few inches from Yuki! I love them too much. And as this recent album proved (yes, I know it's FJ but still, it has Wakana and Keiko) they all do awesome jobs live, and are not left out. Okay, back to the topic.

Thanks for the heads up! Looks like I still have time to catch up with it :goodjob:

Just finished watching Arslan Senki, the anime is pretty good in itself (and the op and ed are very good)
I somehow seem to appreciate anime singles more if I actually watch the anime, so looking forward to one light a lot more now
