Hikaru

I don't think Hikaru is versatile, the sharp voice just kills me, but when the three of them sing together, I'm just impressed.it's not a matter of who gets more parts to sing.

Among the three, she's versatile enough, since the other two doesn't change voices at all... :XD:

I don't find it tiring to keep on listening to her because of that... hearing Destination Unknown, then suddenly hearing Aria... Then listening to Neverending... That's cool enough for meh! She can do perform different varieties of voices, but not a lot... still that's good.. the other two can do just those, and I'm tired of them.. But of course, I STILL HAVE A SPACE IN MY HEART FOR WAKANA! XD Ah.. and maybe a little for Keiko too..

But Yeah.. Kalafina is great... If only they can be more consistent in their live shows, I'd love them even more! :dote:

Just noticed this:

decided to make a thread dedicated to how much she likes Hikaru.

This thread is not at all about me or anyone else liking or disliking Hikaru. It's simply about my curiosity, since I've been reading more feedback about Kala lately and have noticed that Hikaru sometimes gets more 'mixed reviews' than Wakana or Keiko.

I have a sneaking feeling, also, that I shouldn't have started it at all, or at least kept from mentioning specific examples. I honestly didn't expect such a reaction :imdead:

Ah well...back on topic~

@Murrue: There are some songs where I think her voice fits well, and others where it doesn't. Ashita no Keshiki is one song where I don't really love her part very much.

I have to admit that I like her part in Kagayaku, though. For some reason I find that her voice has more emotion in it than Wakana's did in the earlier line... :ayashii:

EDIT

Hey, this is my 3200th post :XD:

I love how soranouta acts like all this shit is about her. Unwarranted self importance at its best.

@Moonlight: Versatility isn't just about changing voices.

@Ninetales: Yes. I was also vocal how much I like Hikaru on Fairytale Live (not the sayonara part) and Oblivious. Most of the songs where Hikaru is the main part doesn't give a good impression on me though.

Tumblr girls seems to over react. She thought this thread was about her post, and giving such general judgement to all CPMErs is a bit stupid.

@Murrue: Maybe it's not JUST about that.. but it's still that for the most part, since it talks about flexibility and variation of voices... :/

Try putting Wakana on Keiko's part... then Keiko on Wakana's... That would be a big mess... :/ Now, try putting Hikaru to Wakana's part.. That will never be as good, but she can still sing it... Then put Hikaru to Keiko's part... They actually sound alike sometimes, except for the fact that Keiko sounds more "windy"... Hikaru can't be perfectly versatile... But all I'm saying is, THAT title, when it has to be given to a kalafina member, I think Hikaru would deserve it best... It's always hard to be in the middle of two strong post and try to connect them nicely and keep balance...

Though I would say that she's weak in giving balance, since sometimes, she's the cause of the imbalance in songs... but hey, the other two make their own mistakes too... BUT HIKARU IS ALWAYS MOST NOTICEABLE because her voice quality has this characteristic of being noticed easily... and that sucks sometimes, but is great in other times...
:XD:

Maybe she read the positive topic about Kajiura and though all CPM was like that...ok, ok, I'll refrain from mentioning this again lol

Murrue, I would versatility walks hand in hand with being able to change your voice, in a sense. After all, versatility should be about being able to perform in different types of songs (at least in this case). And the fact that Hikaru can shape her voice according to each song she is singing at the moment makes her versatile as she can perform different roles inside the group, rather than just being the "ARIA-Magia-Progressive" type of voice. Nowadays, she is becoming each time more capable of singing songs like sandpiper and neverending, but still being the "agressive-voice" type.

Moonlight04 was faster, feels like a ninja!

She thought this thread was about her post

Well, to be fair, Ninetales did directly link her specific post... Or is she one of these people that everyone else hates and therefore everything she does is WRONG!!!!!, like that whole fiesta with Kizuato?

Oh, Hikaru is the most versatile for sure, this is true. She has a more adaptable voice and she can sing a lot of things. But for backing vocal and things like that I don't find her SO useful. I mean, in my opinion Keiko does a good job doing the Harmony for Hikaru, but I don't like the opposite at all. Maybe it's just my preferences again, but I feel it lacks something (?)

Ah, I forgot to mention it, but I love Hikaru's 'energy' live. She seems to have improved it a lot!

Agree... I prefer Kaori backing up Keiko... or Keiko backing up herself might be a better idea... but that would really be impossible in live shows... :ohoho:

But then again, if she were, my goodness, she would be nearly perfect. And in a sense I disagree, because she can be really useful for backing vocal (Seventh Heaven, you perfect song!).

^Oh... hey..! I agree with that too! XD Probably not on lives most of the time, but she does make a pretty good job at most of things! Why do many people overlook her!? Sometimes, even I, her loyalist, overlook her! WHY!? :touched: *enters dramatic mode, please don't mind me*

I tend to think she blends really well with Yuuka. Vol.4 FJYUUKA live can't be the same(which was great) for me without her back vocals there.

for me, hikaru is my favorite kalafina vocalist :XD:
I guess it's all about personal preference but I like what she does in gloria and aria and even that "sayonaraaa" in the fairytale live ver that shocked so many people!

^ Someone else! :sohappy:

Also, about the Tumblr thing...I was basically using it as an example of what's being said elsewhere about Hikaru. But I'm thinking that the person didn't even read the original topic of this thread, which is why they assumed the wrong thing about it in their response. So I'm going to refrain from mentioning anything about others' negative comments in the future, since it seems to lead to grief.

That "Sayonara" was a bit shouty xD to put it lightly. It was especially shocking because in the album it has this echo effect thing so yeah.
