Why hello there, welcome to CPM :hi:.

Finland, aye? Now I've been to America and Japan, going to Finland and Norway are next on my agenda, been wanting to go to those countries for many years now. Good to hear from a native that it's a lovely place :sohappy:. Also that there's Kajiura fans there :goodjob:.

You don't like Heavenly Blue or Believe? Then you've got great taste in Kalafina songs :ayashii:. I really don't care for Mirai or Snow Falling either, but everything else is a-ok.

I do question why you don't like Signal though? Any particular reason on that? It's one of my favourites personally but you're not even the first person on here that really doesn't like it, so I guess there's something about it that some people don't like. I just can't get enough of Wakana's backing vocals or Keiko's segment myself.

Also yay, more Madoka fans . Also someone else who really likes Pugna Cum Maga, I had that as a ringtone for years :goodjob:. My other personal favourites from that soundtrack (Kalafina aside, of course, and ClariS who I also really enjoy) are Surgam Identidem, Sis Puella Magica!, Numquam Vincar, Veneri Strigas, Terror Adhaerens and Decretum. I also really enjoy Absolute Configuration, I was waiting for this moment, I Cursed Myself, The Worst Ending and Something, Everything is Wrong from Rebellion.

You haven't seen SAO? Don't bother. I put it off for ages after hearing tons of bad stuff about it until recently, watched the first six episodes with a friend and by god it was awful. The main character is one of the most boring, bland and generic leads I have seen in anything for a long time, there's no sense of time progression or plot advancement and everything is incredibly disjointed and doesn't seem to be connected at all. The only passable things about the show in those six episodes were the character designs and the music and in both cases there's a lot better around. It's not even one of Yuki's strongest scores by a long shot.

Thank youuuuu!! :dote:

Finland, aye? Now I've been to America and Japan, going to Finland and Norway are next on my agenda, been wanting to go to those countries for many years now.

I've also been to America, I've visited California and Florida there, and I visited Tokyo and Kyoto in Japan last summer. Was amazing, I can't wait to go to Japan again!! And maybe fulfill my dream of attending a Kalafina concert! :nosebleed: It sucks that I don't have any friends in Finland who enjoy the same music as I though, I'm a little scared of travelling to the other side of the world all by my own... I'm an adult, why do I feel so insecure doing things alone?! If you visit Finland, please let me know! I'll be there to be your guide! :goodjob:

Yeah, I don't really like those songs :XD: I don't necessarily hate them, but I very rarely listen to them. Snow Falling too, it's a boring song. Mirai I like more, but it's definitely not one of my favorites either.

I don't enjoy the parts in Signal where there's practically no melody, like in the beginning, it just doesn't appeal to me. But Keiko's part is great, I agree with you on that, and Wakana does do amazing job with the backing vocals. It's just the fast paced parts that are in my opinion too much rap-like that rub me the wrong way. I listen so Signal more often than HB, Believe or Snow Falling though, as I do find it to be a better song than those three, but I still tend to skip it a lot. I've learned to like it a bit more though, so who knows, maybe I'll enjoy it one day.

Those are all beautiful pieces :love:I just realized I don't have Venari Strigas on my playlist, WHY??? I don't know how this has happened! :omg: Such a tragedy has to be fixed immediately! Heehee, I just browsed redbubble for Madoka (and Digimon and Skyrim) posters and know I have 11 posters on my cart... I have no room to hang all of those! Also tried to search for Kalafina posters around the internet, but couldn't find anything else available but promotional posters, which I don't like that much... too much text. I'll probably have to have my own posters done... if I have any room on my walls anymore :XD:

You haven't seen SAO? Don't bother.

I've heard the same downsides of SAO you listed, too. The artwork and animation looks amazing and the music is really well done, but people say the story is trash. But others praise the show to the skies, so I don't really know what to believe in. I probably have to watch a few episodes to determine my own opinion. But judging by the things I've heard about the plot, I'm probably not going to like it.

@aki and @Westkana, PASTA FUN CLUB FOR LIFE. Guess what I'm gonna cook today?

EDIT: @Seasonreaper, I've also been to Norway! IT IS A GORGEOUS PLACE.

Hah, well you could try to find a copy of the 5th anniversary poster, that has practically no text, is official and looks lovely. It's also sold out however. I really like the aesthetics of promos though, hence why I have a bunch. I also have no room on my walls though :@_@:.

I used to travel a lot with my parents years ago before I went to university and most of my trips were with them, including America. Been to Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Florida with them. I had my first solo trip last year to attend Japan Expo in France to see Kalafina, but that's a lot closer than Japan. It wasn't planned as a solo trip either, but with Kalafina being the last guests announced there was only a month to prepare everything and nobody else could make it.

When I went to Japan last month it was planned with quite a while in advance so went with two good friends of mine, should've been three originally but one had to drop out as she's saving to go to America herself. We visited both Tokyo and Osaka. That whole trip happened based around seeing Kalafina live whilst over there though, thanks to another member on this site helping out with tickets. It was worth it :goodjob:.

Good to hear Norway is lovely too. Maybe I'll plan to do them both in one trip, a week each or something. One of the guys I went to Japan with already wants to go back though so that might happen first and I don't have that much money so it could be a while :comeback:.

@Seasonreaper Well those THE BEST Red Blue and Far on the Water promo posters look rather lovely, I might actually buy them. But why does THE BEST Red Blue cost three times more than Far on the Water on ebay? Makes no sense to me! I searched for the 5th anniversary poster, it's beautiful and I'd very much like to have it, but couldn't find it available anywhere:wai: should have become a Kalafina fan years ago, I kinda seem to have missed the boat!

I can imagine your trip to Japan was more than worth it! Sounds lovely! And I read your report of that Far on the Water live, it was very good by the way, must have been an amazing experience. I hope I'll get to see them live someday, but unfortunately I can pretty much travel only during holidays, so there would have to be a Kalafina live during my holidays and that might not happen very soon :rain:

Visiting both Norway and Finland at the same trip is a good plan as you only have to cross one border. That's how we did our trip to Norway, we simply drove there and spend a couple days. Then again, if you fly to southern Norway, it will be a long trip across the country to reach Finland and vice versa, so in that case it might be easier to just take the plane. But I'll be waiting here! It's not like I'm about to move away so you'll have plenty of time! :innocent:It's pretty expensive here in Finland, so being financially prepared is important. But you can stay at my place or at my relatives free of charge if you wish, I'd be more than happy to offer you a place to stay. Because of our culture where many people own at least one cottage (my family has a total of four) and the fact that my relatives live all across the country, there are many places to choose from.

@Spirica Rose There's always more countries to visit, more places to see, more things to do! :love:I love travelling, I wish I could do it more often! I've been to USA, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Japan and Thailand... hope I'm not forgetting any country. I want to visit at least Italy, Japan and UK again, and see Iceland and New Zealand.

Availability, really. The far on the water tour is still going on and if you buy 2000 yen's worth of Kalafina CDs, you get a free copy of the far on the water promo poster. There's still plenty around. Same reason the Consolation ones are still cheap I reckon, they were giving those away whenever you bought stuff from the stall that was selling Kalafina merch and hosted the autograph sessions. I absolutely adore the After Eden promo but those aren't possible to find any more, I haven't seen any for sale in months. I have one that I'm getting framed right now but it's safe to say they aren't easy to come by. It's kind of hard to get stuff these days I must admit, but maybe you've still got a chance to get some things. Aside from the Red Moon t-shirt I have, everything in my collection has been acquired within the last year and a half. Where are you looking for things? Honestly though, if you want rarer things, you'll need to use Japanese sites and learn how to use proxy services, this includes the official Kalafina store over on Spacecraft. I do occasionally post up on the forum sidebar if I find anything interesting that people might want, but once again it'll almost always require a proxy. I use Japan Shopping Service myself, but I know @Kugayama has a lot of experience with FromJapan.

Thanks for the info about Finland/Norway, they're definitely the next new places I want to go to. Just depends on when that'll be possible.

I've been to a pretty good share of places though, other than the areas in Japan and the US I've also been to Prague, Bruges, Paris (both for Japan Expo and on a tourist trip at separate times), Florence, Pisa, Barcelona, Ibiza, Majorca, Lanzarote, Tenerife and Crete, as well as numerous other places in the UK. If you want any opinions or help I might be able to follow through on that :goodjob:.

I had to google Cracow because for some reason I didn't realize it's Krakova (in Finnish) and felt very stupid :XD:It is a beautiful city indeed! Would you consider it a better holiday resort than Warsaw?

Aurora borealis are so pretty! I live in south so I rarely get to see them, though, but the times I visit Lapland I try and catch a peak.

Yes, it's the same :XD: (in Polish it's 'Kraków'). Warsaw - it's an interesting city (I'm from Warsaw). I love this city in winter. It's a lot of lights (especially 'New World' street and old town). In winter it's an atmosphere of Christmas.

In Polish beautiful are also Tatry Mountains (it's a little ver. of Alps), Ojców National Park (there's a lot of limestone's cliffs, ravines and castles) and Masurian Lakeland.

@Kurjenmiekka you are welcomed in Poland! I hope that I would visit Finland in future. I was only travelling in some European countries (Italy, Germany, Austria, Czech Rebuplic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Hungary, Croatia...) but I never have been in Scandinavian countries (my associations: skyrim!).
How long do you love Kalafina?

Haha wow, are your parents pilots or something ? That's alot of Europe places for someone from US!

@aki: If that dropbox link I could use my music recognition apps ( i have Sony's Track ID and a japanese one) to find that finnish track out.

@Kurjenmiekka: WELCOME!!! You are the 3rd person from Finland that ever joins this forum I think (other 2 are inactive). I'm from Greece and Finland / Germany seem really nice places to visit or even live (unlike most of greeks I seem to like north europe more than the local way of life). Outside of my country i've been to Rome, Paris, UK's Scotland (Dundee city), and Prague (Czech).

I am almost a founding member as I happened to meet Kerahna on Youtube back in 2007 few months after the site was made by Kerahna, Sudrien and few others. I've been around since then. A year or two earlier than that time I came to meet japanese anime and music because a channel here was airing the american version of Tokyo Mew Mew (Mew Mew Power in US ver) but only the first 14 eps ugh so we looked for it in japanese (aired was in greek).

At first it was so funny because believe it or not there are some common sounding phrases between greek and japanese, but now i have gotten used to it to the point i can almost understand raw anime episode. and wish to actually learn the language at some point. The second or third anime I watched was Tsubasa Chronicles which has the most diverse music of YK's discography in my opinion and every track is a jewel I fell in love with it and by searching on youtube i found other tracks and then Kerahna XD. Now im watching 5-6 anime per anime season <3 I can suggest you some if you want.

Also unfortunately Im also lonely - aside from brother - in liking japanese music among my friends and other people I know so I want to ask you about that at some point :)

Hope you enjoy your stay!

PS: This is the longest intro thread in a while :ayashii:

@Seasonreaper Oh, that makes a lot of sense! Yeah, the Consolation one was cheap too, it was about 11 USD I think? I don't remember, even though I just ordered it :XD: I ordered all three promo posters I could find. I'm gonna have them framed :dote:Really love the look of that After Eden promo poster, but just like you said, they seem to be very hard to come by... I couldn't find any of them on sale. I'm not very interested in other items than CDs and blu-rays, which are easy to find, and posters - I've never been the collector type. Sure, every Kalafina-related item would be nice to have, but I'm not really craving for them, if you get what I mean. I just like so many things I don't have money to buy everything - games and books are really expensive and I'm buying those all the time. I've been looking from Western sites as I can't read Japanese, which totally sucks :I I would have a much higher change of getting that After Eden promo poster if I could search for it on Japanese sites. Could you inform me if you happen to see one for sale? Ohhh I have NO IDEA how to use a proxy service... but I guess that's an issue for later, if I actually manage to find one of those posters. Thanks for the tip, though!

Would be super fun to meet you here in Finland! :goodjob: Can't wait! You're been to many places! And thank you for the offer! Everyone's so kind here

@nodame89 Warsaw looks wonderful! Would probably be a good place to visit during the winter, then? Thank you for recommending those places, I googled them and they all seem like places I really want to visit. Poland is close to Finland and I have friends who would probably be interested in travelling there with me too, so maybe I'll travel there the next time I want to make a cultural visit to Europe! And you're very welcome to Finland! Oh if only Finland was like Skyrim :XD:(Skyrim is my favorite game btw). Fun fact: Finland is actually not a Scandinavian country, which is a very common misconception, it is part of Fennoscandia and one of the Nordic countries though. Scandinavia is Norway, Sweden and Denmark :)

I've only loved Kalafina for about one year, so I guess I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to Kajiura's music. But hey, better late than never, right? :ohoho: Kalafina has really helped me get through some really difficult times and is my absolutely favorite band now! If only I'd found them sooner...

@george1234 Thank you very much!! It's very nice to meet you! :hi: Me and @aki actually managed to find the artists of that song, they are Heikki Laitinen and Arja Kastinen. Song was simply referred as "the bear song". But it might have another name too, so if you could search for it, that would be super great!

I was thinking that I can't possibly be the first Finn here! Good to know there are fellow Finns here, it's a shame they're inactive, would have loved to talk to them. I've been to Crete, but I've wanted to visit Athens for a long time. Being really into history and all. Crete was absolutely great, I spend the autumn holiday there last year with my mother and sister. We stayed at a five-star hotel to celebrate my sister defeating her cancer (which has since returned and is pretty much uncurable but luckily it's somewhat kept in control right now) and that's one of my most precious memories, so in a way, Greece is close to my heart.

That's a long time to be active! It's great there are people so dedicated to this wonderful site! You've created a really nice website! I myself watched my first anime when I was six when Digimon aired on television (that show is still one of my obsessions), then I watched Ginga Nagareboshi Gin in elementary school. Didn't really start watching anime KNOWING it was anime until junior high, though.

There's also many similarities between Japanese and Finnish, so I can relate! We have many same words (that of course mean different things), mainly short words like kara, sora, risu, koko, hana, kana and so on (heehee @aki is a male given name, I know a few Aki's presonally).

Do suggest some animes! My list of unwatched animes is LONG, so it might take a while before I can actually start watching those animes you suggest, but I'd love to hear your favorites :)

I'm a lonely person, too. I'd love to talk with you about absolutely anything, never hesitate to talk to me :innocent:I'd really like talking about anime and japanese music with you. Ask any questions you want!

Thank you, I'm already really enjoying this site, so glad I made an account!

Heehee I feel so happy that people talk to me :shy:

EDIT: OOPS THAT'S ONE LONG POST.

Haha wow, are your parents pilots or something ? That's alot of Europe places for someone from US!

What? I'm from the UK :omgz:. I've just been to the US a lot.

@Kurjenmiekka I'll likely post up on the site if I happen across an After Eden promo, but don't get your hopes up. As I said earlier, I haven't seen one for sale in a long time. There were a couple for sale just over a year ago but myself and @Daiima picked those up, sorry :innocent:. Nowhere I regularly check has had them since however. Also if you're looking to get a Seventh Heaven promo, be prepared to pay a lot. Partially because you'll be up against myself, but also because they go for ridiculous amounts. The last two that sold at auction were both damaged slightly and went for 25k+ yen a piece.

You might also end up buying photobooks at some point, I had no interest in them really until I had a look through the ones they had on sale in France, realised how lovely they were and bought them. I now have a complete collection of every single photobook that's been released, which is not easy to do as some of them are rather rare. There are probably still a bunch of them for sale on CDJapan though and they ship internationally.

Luckily though if the main thing you want is CDs and BDs, they are easy to get. CDJapan stocks everything with the exception of the Hikari no Senritsu single for some reason I don't understand, that one particular single has been out of print according to their site for months and I still don't get why. A lot of their releases are also available via Amazon and whatnot although they might be Taiwanese versions and the like, although there isn't much of a difference really. They're still legit, just have different item codes.

I seem to have become that one guy around here who has a ton of different Kalafina t-shirts though so I guess you could say that's my speciality :omgz:.

@Seasonreaper Oh, that sucks, I guess I really shouldn't get my hopes up :rain: Well, no can do, just have to buy what posters are available. 25k+ yen? That's.... that's a little too much :ghost:Consider me out of the competition then.

Found this poster on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017I4V68A/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=
Is it a legit collectible poster? I haven't seen it on anyone's collection, so I was wondering if it's just something fanmade. Looks LOVELY and I'd love to have it (the price is ridiculously low) BUT IT DOESN'T SHIP TO FINLAND :wai: THIS SUCKS

Hmm, the photobooks do indeed look lovely... I might end up buying those, who knows. How many are there?
Hikari no Senritsu is available on ebay and amazon, so there shouldn't be any trouble buying it. Pretty much all CDs and blu-rays seem to be available, although I don't reckon seeing RE/Oblivious anywhere...

@Kugayama Do you have a picture of it? Would love to see.

@aki :XD:

@Kugayama Do you have a picture of it? Would love to see.

Pardon the poor quality, difficult to avoid the reflection off the glass and it's getting dark. This was given out to all those who had the coupon from purchasing the "believe" CD single earlier in the day.

20151111610cr.jpg

@Kurjenmiekka That appears to be a fan made poster, that image is from a photobook. As for how many, there's a whole bunch, there's 18 photobooks/pamphlets, plus the Kalafina Record and Kadakawa book which have some lovely photos but quite a lot of text. Oh and the two Kalafina Papers. If you get one thing I'd say the History 5th, but it's out of print I believe and only covers up to the 5th Anniversary (obviously), so nothing from Consolation onwards.

And yes, Re/Oblivious is rare.

@Kugayama Nope, I don't have any promo posters for the singles. It's not something I've really looked into. With the album promos and the two official posters that's already 8 if you include the BEST promo and that's a lot of wall space. The one I do really want is To the Beginning though as I love those outfits, but those are rare. Fairytale ones seem common enough though. I've seen most of them on sale at some point, but never seen any for Magia, Storia or Hikari no Senritsu for sale, and I don't know if re/Oblivious, Oblivious or Heavenly Blue promos even exist.
