Re: Fate/Zero ED2

@Kagaribi, oh yeah, you are right. And maybe also a little of how Hikaru sounded in Magia, just that same tone.

So is it both composed and arranged by Yuki? It sounds so much like her, but I was confused for awhile if it was. :shy:

By "both" you mean 'to the beginning' and 'sora wa takaku, kaze wa utau' ?
for 'to the beginning' there's no doubt, since Kalafina songs are always 100% Yuki (except from http://canta-per-me.net/lyrics/fairytale/ where Kinoko Nasu [KnK author] has co-wrote the lyrics)

I'm sure that the second is since it melody reminds of endless sky which is also Yuki-composed song.

However judging from the silly titles of the other songs of the Haruna single, these songs shouldnt be Yuki.

[EDIT] Oh I guess you meant the other song by Haruna she sung as predebut. Nope that doesnt sound like Yuki at all.

Re: Fate/Zero ED2

@george: If you were talking to me, I did mean for the Haruna song in that preview with to the beginning. Hmm, I think I am still confused.

Oh my God...it sounds like a really good song!!! Sort of like a less serenato-fied sandpiper!!! Yuki I love you!!!! :touched:

Yeah...Haruna's voice is okay, but it just seems...I dunno, very mechanical to me? Like, I'm not getting any emotion from her voice, I feel like she's singing every note the same...

If this had been Kalafina's song it would've been sooooooooooo nice~~~~~ :nosebleed: :nosebleed: :nosebleed:

In opposite to you, I feel like I'm kicking Kajiura for giving a better song to Haruna but a generic ala FJ song to Kalafina. Haruna's voice is rather plain, and can't bring the emotion the song could have if Keiko or Hikaru sang it, and in the end I don't really like both songs.
For me this Haruna's single will sell lots more copies than Kalafina, because it's her debut single (people tends to buy an artist's debut single) and the song itself is better than to the beginning.

^ how is it better? one is OP and the other is ED, comparing a ballad with an upbeat, also both remind of other songs, to the beginning has FJ arrangement and Sora wa takaku endless sky melody. You will need to wait for the full song to judge it all (talking about Sora wa takaku) since the part of the CM is only the refrain probably.

For Kalafina, at this moment it is better to have an OP, even if it's a "generic" one. Then again, it's Kajiura's own fault that she won't stray away from her OP formula.
Also, I REALLY doubt Haruna's single will outsell Kalafina's. It's an ED against an OP.

Haruna's voice in the sample sounds a lot better than the live performances from earlier, and I like it more than the binetesu no tsuki on her site too. I'm glad it's kind of upbeat XD I won't say any more until the full song is out

Not to play devil's advocate, but could it be that the OP is in the FJ style because it was requested that way? Maybe the producers wanted that certain sound for some reason :confu:

It could be, but since Kajiura made 4 OPs for FJ and three of them sound very similar, I have more reason to believe that this is her fault.

@george I guess Liana talked only about Sora wa Takaku Kaze wa Utau, but her 'both' means the both of the 'song composer' and the 'song arranger' because it isn't necessary to be the same person. Ex. Yuki only arranged Shizukana kono yoru ni but didn't compose, and Synchronicity in Everlasting song album is composed by Yuki but rearranged by Koichi.

For me, I guess Yuki did both... Isn't it officially announced that she composed the song...? :confu:. The unclear one should be the arranger... the background voice sounds quite Yuki-ish... But I'm not 100% sure as well...:XD:

Not the first time though....how about Kaori's Yume no Tsubasa VS Makino Yui's Synchronicity...:tea:. (So..will it end up with a rearranged one covered by FJC girls..? :XD:) (add C for Hikaru..lol)

Re: Fate/Zero ED2

^Right, I am no longer confused now that I have seen the info on the discography page. Thanks though! Still it will be interesting to hear the whole thing. :dote:

I already drew a line of comparison between all the recent animes Yuki's been doing OPs for. :plot: And in terms of mood, To the Beginning seems to follow close enough in Oath Sign's footsteps as well. :ayashii:
Sorry for everyone who's grown bored by all these songs. Maybe someday I'll get bored, too (hopefully not anytime soon :leaf: ), but so far I give no damn how often Yuki uses these recipes, they just remain great to listen to. :tea: :XD:

The two songs in question are about two or three years apart. :XD: And it's been three years since Synchronicity WAS covered by FictionJunction. :sparkleguy:

As to Sora wa Takaku sample, it sounds very pleasant. Yuki does make a better use of Haruna's voice than the latter's songs we've heard before. And as much as I'm positive towards Yuki/Kaori Hikita collabs, I'm kinda relieved to hear the song isn't in the same vein (not sure why it would have even had to be, but my logic is that weird :XD: ). Can't compare it to Endless Sky either, though I can vaguely guess where George draws such parallels from. :ayashii:
So, April and May will be marked by new releases. Let's wait! :sohappy:

Well Nick, I at least didn't say To the Beginning isn't nice to listen to. But it does bother me how she doesn't seem to want to stray one bit from such a pattern, to the point that the songs become way too similar. Similar songs are always present in the live of a composer, but when they grow TOO similar, there's bound to be something "wrong".
But at least To the beginning is more similar to Eternal Blue than Toki no Mukou

Yes, Support, Agree
Wakana goes "Hey, this sounds familiar to me I don't need much practice on that!". Her role is pretty much the same!

:ohoho: :hero: Kajiuran Battle themes are all the same! Kala or FJ it doesn't matter!

I guess there's always some minor bother for everyone in the fandom... like yours about the recent OPs, mine about track titles and Kalafina PVs, Grunty's about, um... a lot. :XD: Pretty normal for a fandom, according to a certain trope. :plot:

On an unrelated note, something just occurred to me:

Endless Sky
Toki no Mukou, Maboroshi no Sora
Kagayaku Sora no Shijima ni wa
Eternal Blue
Manten
Sora wa Takaku Kaze wa Utau

Yuki likes the sky, doesn't she? :ayashii: :XD: :dote:

^Nah, she likes anything that is silver, like her silver dishes and silver rainbow LOL
