Did anyone noticed that this site also has the duration of the songs, so sora wa takaku will be 04:57 long, almost 5 minutes.

Huh, this is interesting...I wonder if there'll be different musicians, or if Sorao will play the guitar himself in the song? :ayashii:

Yuki didn't do the arrangement for "Sora wa Takaku Kaze wa Utau "

OMG i'm really curious now :waii: , michiyuki & namae no nai michi were excellent examples of this "unintentional collaboration" :XD:

:wai: I really really really hope Kala or FJ will cover it in the future sometime...it sounds like it's going to be such a great song...

I've listened to the 15 second clip again, and I really like the melody. I'm looking forward to the full version. I hope it doesn't disappoint me.

Well Nick, I at least didn't say To the Beginning isn't nice to listen to. But it does bother me how she doesn't seem to want to stray one bit from such a pattern, to the point that the songs become way too similar. Similar songs are always present in the live of a composer, but when they grow TOO similar, there's bound to be something "wrong".
But at least To the beginning is more similar to Eternal Blue than Toki no Mukou
You raise a very good point, KP-X! I totally agree with you. It's getting quite annoying that Kajiura's works have developed a PATTERN, where I can actually predict the sequence of the song by listening to one part of it... She's lost that mysterious touch she had back in the seventh heaven (Kalafina) days. I have only followed her since then, so I can only make such a judgment. But I know her past OST works and songs are more variant and "surprising" from a friend of mine who has followed her for nearly 9 years....

^ I think you're right, but for me a pattern doesn't mean a bad thing...I haven't yet gotten tired of it personally, aside from a few random things like flute solos. I think like everything else it depends on one's preferences... :ayashii:

That's not to say that I don't enjoy the mysterious, very unique songs like Fairytale or Utsukushisa, though. I just don't mind if they don't show up very often, since it makes them all the more powerful for me.

Well, when I was talking about pattern, I was talking solely about how she creates OPs nowadays.

I think I'll love anything really that Yuki puts out...I don't get tired of her 'formula' and I like the structure of her songs... :ohoho:

Sora was Takaku is gonna be such an amazing ballad though, I think, just from listening to the sample...but I still think Haruna sounds a bit robotic in it...somehow I just feel like she's singing the melody in monotone to me...the accompaniment sounds impressive :nosebleed: but for some reason her voice makes me feel a bit anti-climatic...

Oh well, I hope the full version will blow me away :ayashii:

I agree with ninetales :shy:
"One man's meat is another man's poison"
To me, especially in music pattern is important
Yuki Kajiura sama's pattern is something that defines her and without it she would be just another generic song writer.
I mean if we all think about it in a careful and logical way, well at least Kajiura sama has a pattern that we are all able to recognised,
imagine if Kajiura sama composes something similar to K-POP...
thats called generic :uh..:

Also Beethoven also had alot of patterns that recurred
like in his Sonatas. Normally sonatas are in 3 parts, but Beethoven composed his Sonatas in 4 parts and now in modern music, when ever pianist plays a 4 part Sonata, everyone would be able to recognize it to be Beethoven's composition...So back to Kajiura-sama, i don't think its really a bad thing that her pattern. Well, i personally would say, time would allow Kajiura sama to come out with something very new and refreshing :)
Well on a balanced point of view, i didn't really enjoy To The Beginning as much as other Kalafina songs :)
some songs from kalafina that were really new and fresh was probably, Magia ( i thought she really brought Kalafina to a whole new level with this song XD) and for FictionJunction, i thought StoneCold was something that was refreshing too :)

Now, 空は高く風は歌う, oh yes!!!!! OMG it does sound like something fresh
but there is one thing that i dont understand.
Whats the difference between arranging and composing???
someone care to explain to me ?? :dote:

^ As far as I know, "composing" is writing the entire song - melody lines, etc. "Arranging" is choosing which instruments will be in the song, whether there'll be an instrument solo, what sort of chorus will back up the main singer, and maybe even how fast the song will be.

So basically, for Sora wa Takaku, Kajiura-sensei created the melody lines and chorus, while Sorao "fit" her music into a certain pattern, with the background choir and slow drumbeat and such.

Maybe too soon to judge from such a short sample, but I like it and she sounds good. Hope it's great :dote:

I agree about the pattern in Op that Yuki makes these days, I wonder if she's having problems with it. I hope she breaks free from it the next time she's given a chance to make an op.

Pre-ordered the LE. There are only 6 left that ship on the release date, so.

I said to myself, "Go ahead. Take a chance. Buy the single. I had hope. My God, I thrive on it." (Cookies if you get the reference.)

But seriously. Hope it's good.

After listening to the 30-second preview, the song sounds pretty interesting - it's someone else arranging it! I find Haruna's vocals are plain and slightly flat though.

Great to see Kajiura-san involved in an OP and ED of a series, after so long... :dote:

It's too bad that the other two songs on the single will probably be terrible...otherwise, I'd preorder the single, I think :uh..:

@winter: Yes we do. But why buy the LE if you are not sure if its good ?

If I like the longer samples, the single will ship at the earliest possible date and I'll get it ASAP. If I don't, I can cancel like w/ After Eden.

But mostly because I'm crazy :sparkleguy:
